I actually meant a defense mechanism to justify homosexuality.
I have no reason to justify my feelings. Whether or not someone approves of them is of no consequence to how I will live out my life. This is merely an expression of opinions.
I actually think BOTH men and women are "meant to be" with men!
Nothing is meant to be anything. That would imply that "nature" is some sort of sentience that actually guides the direction of our development; it does not. Perhaps, if you believe this is true under some religious pretense. In evolutionary sciences, anything that occurs in nature is natural. Reproduction is necessary to our species' survival, but that does not insinuate that anything which might inhibit this process results from unnatural means in itself. With evolution, there is no deterministic direction or ultimate purpose for a species' development. Random shit happens over long periods of time, and the species will either survive or die out because of it. We don't see species with really strange or useless genetic configurations because such traits would not enable their carriers to survive long enough to propogate them. So, where does homosexuality fit into all of this? It occurs in many species -- in which it has made it this far -- and none of these species have suffered a population decline as a result. That speaks for itself.
I should point out that sexuality isn't as black-and-white as straight and gay. The popular scientific opinion is that varying preferences of bisexuality is a very widespread phenomenon. I'm sure many heterosexual women are oblivious to what their significant others are are doing with their male friends. "Male-bonding," indeed. I've received requests from many straight guys whom have a wife and children.
I must admit...I have never heard a Gay man claim that women were in effect...obsolete and men could do much better being gay.
What's wrong with an all-male society?
