| Powell River - McKinney's Pub Dance, October 10, 2009 Posted: 9/5/2009 12:03:18 PM | I'd seriously like to make this one, as long as I don't have a camp that weekend... and I'd have to take a fairly early ferry back on Sunday as I have games that day.
Car Pool anyone?

| Powell River - McKinney's Pub Dance, October 10, 2009 Posted: 9/6/2009 8:34:45 AM | Sounds fun and a good excuse for a weekend road trip.
I am hoping to make this my first BC event since I've moved back to BC from Alberta.
Thank you to the organizers for putting on the event! I look forward to meeting you both and some other people.

| Powell River - McKinney's Pub Dance, October 10, 2009 Posted: 9/18/2009 1:34:10 PM | Wow, I continue to be impressed by how many out-of-town guests we'll be hosting in Powell River. From as far away as Victoria!
Wahoo, this will be fun!
I hope some of you travellers can carpool to save on travel expenses, including the ferry. I recommend you inquire with BC Ferries about their BC Ferries Experience Card http://www.bcferries.com/experience_card/
To the local people, let's live up to the Pearl City's fame for hospitality.
The last ferry out of town sails before the band starts playing, so any visitors will be spending the night in Powell River.
If you're willing to billet anyone non-local guest please post a message here and indicate what you have to offer.

| Powell River - McKinney's Pub Dance, October 10, 2009 Posted: 9/19/2009 4:01:41 PM | * Thanksgiving potluck dinner
As this dance event falls on the Thanksgiving long weekend and as there will be several visitors to Powell River, I have decided to host a Thanksgiving potluck dinner in my home on October 10th, at 5:00 pm.
My invite is primarily to (but not exclusively) to visiting event guests, thinking you might prefer a home-cooked meal with like-minded people to eating in a restaurant.
This will be a potluck dinner where we all pitch in and also help with the cleanup and do the dishes (manually) before we go to the dance.
I can host up to 16 people, which includes using card tables and folding chairs and might be able to squeeze in a couple more.
Local POF people are welcome too, providing there is still space available.
As seating is limited you must notify me, in advance of your desire to participate
Contact me by private message (not by a forum post). Be sure to mention the others in your group and what you are all going to bring. I'll provide the address and travel directions in my reply to you.
I think it is that reasonable I get your notification by the close of Saturday, October 3rd, so if there are, or are not, seats available I can contact the locals on the waiting list in time for them to make alternate arrangements.
It won't be fancy but I've never been disappointed with the good grub of a potluck and friends.
I shall provide a roasted turkey.

| Powell River - McKinney's Pub Dance, October 10, 2009 Posted: 9/27/2009 2:18:14 AM | Sounds like you all will be having a fantastic time... Great to see so many friends from the island and mainland going to this event! And Balled Eagle...you are a very gracious host for offering to have a pot luck dinner at your place for Thanksgiving! What better way to celebrate a typical family holiday with everyone's other family, POF!!!
Wish I could come to this too.... I honestly have no idea what I'll be doing for Thanksgiving this year... With my folks being on the island there's a possibility I may be staying home....them ferries are not cheap! Have a grand time all!

Thank you for your kind words. I hope you have a great Thanksgiving where ever it might be.
I think meeting some of the guests ahead of time in a quieter setting will be a great way to get acquainted before heading off to the pub. We will meet and dine as strangers and arrive at the pub as friends, will full bellies, ready to burn off the calories with some dancing.
Now there are 9 guests. | |

| Powell River - McKinney's Pub Dance, October 10, 2009 Posted: 10/1/2009 9:27:22 AM | Hiya BE...I'm going out today hunting down the ingredients for my cheesecake...will be providing it for dessert as I promised...and I'll only be bringing up one kayak...for 'slim fitting' folk to try out...(so I can't eat the second cheesecake, darn!). My Vw Westphalia requires a flat place to park...and a plug in(have an extension cord)...so I can sleep in 'comfort' in this fall weather...is there such a place available??? how many sleeps??? see you soon! | |

Cheesecake... my weakness.
My driveway is flat and big enough for your van and there is an outlet in the carport, so you're welcome to park there. I'm a light sleeper so just keep the noise down to a dull roar, okay.
Today is Oct 1 so nine more sleeps. See you all soon.
