| Do women have more expectations than men? Posted: 8/26/2009 4:08:05 PM | In the course of reviewing women's profiles over the years on dating sites other than PoF I occasionally run into the profiles of women I already know or am asked to review updated profiles. For example, the profiles of two women I had dated 10 and 12 years ago after having met them in RL (not online) and who remain friends state their correct ages. Their photos are quite recent and according to them they can only reveal their profiles a few days at a time because they are besieged by so many emails, 50 to 400 per day. Every once in a while they ask me to check their profiles and give them feedback so I know they continue to tell the truth about their ages. At present one is 48, the other 52. They also have current tasteful full body shots showing how they look in RL in clothes they wear out and about. One is a size 2 at 5'5", the other a size 6 at 5'7". On the other hand about a year ago I stumbled upon the profiles of two other women who I have known socially for years but have never cared to date even though they more than expressed interest in dating me. Their photos were taken several years previously and they had misrepresented their ages by 7 and 11 years at the ages of 66 and 69, respectively.
The reason I bring this up is I do not believe I have a predisposition for selecting women who lie about their age and/or their weight. Although my personal experiences do not provide a basis for any serious statistical analysis they may be substantially representative of the experiences of many men, at least those who reside in my part of the world.
Again, some men lie, too, as least that is what I read on forum posts. I just have no experience with how they lie and what about as a dater since my experiences are limited to those with women. | |
