I'm up against the power of the state. I've tried to apply for third party status in order to position myself to fight for custody. But as she is a). Not my biological daughter b). Suffering from some undisclosed abuse and in need of the "warm touch" of the Social Services and c). Has been alienated against her family, probably me, her step-father, included.

Three years ago, my two biological children were at risk themselves from State intervention but fortunately, I acted swiftly at the time and managed to wrestle custody in my favour through the courts. The Social Services do not want to be exposed a second time.

SS is a hard agency to deal with, I speak from experience. I could not win against them, I lost my daughter to them because I felt it better to leave the relationship once it escalted to physical abuse of us, his family has them because he couldn't keep her either.

You need to write up the best plan of care you can, document and record everything...it is going to be a long hard fight if that is the way you go.

I don't understand why they don't put children with family or close to family step parents included, in these circumstances, it is far better than them going through that system.

I wish you good luck on it, they are the hardest agency I ever had to deal with and I know how hard your fight may be.

Get a good lawyer if you can.

LOL.

I've had lawyers and I've had barristers, fat lot of use they are. Unfortunately they, even the one's supposedly fighting my corner, see the state as being more important than the individual. So many ppl are making money out of the misfortune of a little girl it's beyond my comprehension. Of course she needs the care of her family, but we sensible folk are completely ignored.

Ya good lawyers are really hard to find, where I used to live in Ontario Canada they wouldn't even go up against those people, they were too afraid of them. My lawyer told me no hope at all those people play all the games, and very few win.
