| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/21/2009 5:56:57 PM | | I'm going with Rua, just to be diff. If I was betting in Vegas now i'd def put money on Rua considering the odds are up there pretty high against him to win. So if he does shock everyone and beat Machida a small bet could get you a lot of money in winnings and if it doesn't beat Machida then you didn't lose that much. | |

| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/22/2009 10:40:41 AM | sorry...I said Belfort instead of Rua as I was multi tasking at the time...still..Machida all the way!
And there's no way Belfort is gonna take out Silva...just not gonna happen.

All Shogun does is leg lock. That's his only skill. Leg lock. Oh and soccer kicks. He just happens to be really good at them. It's like Ryu is Street Fighter with his fireball. All you need to know is fireball and you can win
Oh, what's that?
Outside of the robbery, just like I said. Low kicks/soccer kicks for days.
All you UFC kids need to get out of the fight scene and stay spectators. You let hype get to you.

| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/24/2009 10:34:54 PM | | Shogun won that fight. I have no idea what the judges were seeing but there is no way that fight should have gone to Machida. | |

*rolls eyes*
Whatever, dude. Shogun didn't win by either leg lock or soccer kick, Nostradamus (going back to your original prediction) . A leg kick is not a soccer kick. He didn't even win the fight - although I agree with you that he should have. Props to him for figuring out that combos and leg kicks are the answer to Machida. Lyoto will need to be much more aggressive to win the rematch.
How about Pat Barry and Chael Sonnen? Stevenson looked sharp, too. Nice job by them.

Actually, you said leglock submission in the 1st. Did you want a special prize for accurately predicting that Shogun would attack with one of two possible limbs? What does the superior visionary see in store for the future, Couture to use the clinch often? Lesnar to GnP?
I respect the knowledge you have about the sport (especially outside of the UFC), but this elitist posturing shit is really played out, we're not Sherdoggin it in here.

| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/26/2009 2:18:54 PM | Hmmm let me see.
3 fully qualified judges unanimously give the bout to Machida.
10.000 drunk bloodsport fans give it to Ruas.
Ill take my chances with the 3 judges. The fans all had beer goggles on.

| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/26/2009 4:53:20 PM | Shogun is far more than just a leg locker. He is a ferocious striker with a lot of power with some of the best kicks in the game. He throw unorthodox kicks for MMA and will take chances like the kick he attempted against Rampage.
On the other hand he didnt all throw any soccer kicks. Soccer kicks arent even allowed in the UFC. Just in Japan, where he did use them while with Pride.
I was pulling for Machida, but thought Shogun won the fight. For me it came down to the final round. I had it even until then, Shogun clearly won the fifth so IMO the fight. That was by far the very best Shogun ever. This Shogun would kill the Shogun in Pride. He wasnt his usual sloppy, wild self. He didnt fight in the typical Chute Boxe style. Great fight!

That fight has been analyzed to death since it ended and it looks even more like a Shogun win when you look at the fight break down there's was almost a 2:1 strikes laded ration in Shoguns favor. I think i'll go with what i saw and millions around the world saw rather then 3 corrupt judges on this one

| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/27/2009 3:39:24 PM | Peace -
With all due respect, Cecil Peoples has got to be one of the WORST judges extant in combat sports. Leg kicks don't count? Backpedaling is ring control? Come on. That guy lives in his own world. The judging on that fight was very suspect, especially considering that FightMetric had that fight scored for Rua by a good margin.
And yes, I thought Bisping beat Hamill too, so I'm not being a hypocrite. LOL.
I didn't give Rua a shot in hell in this fight, but he looked very sharp. We'll see what happens at the rematch!

| UFC 104: Machida vs. Rua announced Posted: 10/27/2009 4:22:37 PM | | Machida won by the judges, but that's never going to change the fact that the vast majority of people thought he lost that fight. | |
