What got me about the Columbine incident was that the media was quick to blame people like Marilyn Manson (who was huge at the time) and as it turns out Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold didn't even listen to Marilyn Manson. But I guess it's hard to sensationalize KMFDM as a scapegoat since the average joe schmoe would have no clue who they were. | |

One of the best descriptions of this deadened response was provided by the BGK killer after his incarceration. I suppose allowing himself to be used as a psychological guinea pig is a form of remorse. | |

Does it cause people to kill? I don't know, I'll leave that to the psychologists. However, I don't think much social good comes from it.

Posted: 10/18/2009 2:11:51 AM | I hate it when this stuff makes the news. Everyone gets all paranoid that their children will turn into mass murderers if they listen to Metal. Not just Death Metal but ALL Metal.
I remember after Columbine the news was reporting that the kids played the violent video game Doom and listened to a band named Rammstein (which ironically I am listening to right now). I thought to myself "I have played Doom and Rammstein is one of my favorite bands... so am I in danger of shooting up a mall? (Substituted Mall for school as I am too old for HS). So far no homicidal tendency's... but who knows what the future holds if I keep playing violent video games (as of late been playing Fallout 3 GoTY Edition) and listening to Rammstein!?
The reality is that the people who committed the horrible crime the OP posted are social degenerates and what they listen to is much to do about nothing. Never has their been a case of Metal or any other music turning a normal well adjusted human being into a homicidal maniac.
Who remembers NWA? People who like them must be gang-banging drug dealing police shooting woman beating low life's... right? Not!
