| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/19/2009 1:26:42 PM | | I would have to agree with melty1 statement that there is good and bad in every race. However when it comes to crime in the news it seems like the media often plays upon negative stereotypes of blacks being criminals or doing other bad things. There are a lot of white people who are into rap and it seems like the majority of people who buy or listen to rap are white people. Then there are a lot of blacks who listen to rock n roll or other types of music besides rap, so rap music is not just a black thing or can be limited to any one culture. I don't think rap music necessarily reflects the black culture it is the message of individuals and how they express themselves. I think any black man who asked the question to a non-black woman if they have ever dated outside of their race is simply wondering whether they did or are comfortable dating outside of their race. Interracial dating has its pros and cons but for me it has never been a problem of dating outside of my race although it may be for others. | |

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/20/2009 5:44:16 PM | i agree 1000 percent with the last 2 posters. personally, i would be turned off if a man asked me this and i'm black. its like asking me do i like toyota tundra men or ford f150 men? give me your presentation, show me what you have and i'll let you know if i want to see you.
on the hip hop, i watched the hip hop awards (vhs1) the other night which was surprising to me since most the white folks was sitting in the front seats. chris sparks and one of the white founders of def jam (cohen) was sitting in the balcony with russell simmons. several years ago, cohen gave an interview saying that if it wasn't for rap music a lot of white guys who work behind the scenes would have been homeless/unemployed because they couldn't work in wall street.

I think any black man who asked the question to a non-black woman if they have ever dated outside of their race is simply wondering whether they..... are comfortable dating outside of their race I agree. That's all they are asking. Essentially, are you comfortable with me approaching you? That's all he is asking. Why anyone would have a problem with this is a mystery to me.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/20/2009 6:42:50 PM | its a yes or no question. i would get tons of emails from white guys askin me do i date white guys? then to only find out they just wanted sex i said how is dating = sex? if they wanted to date outside their race, dont cover up ur true intentions. i am comfortable dating a white guy if i was single but the white guys i met wasnt comfortable dating a blk woman bunch of losers.
i hate the questions i get from white guys like it is a selling point or a favor have u ever ****ed a white guy? if so, would u be ooh and aww over a white guy and disregard other races? lmao yea i had a white guy say that to me. if i am interested in u then i am, if i am not i will move on.

we are both black. we both know that blacks only listen to rap and r&B cuz it defines our race. someone in an mix race group on myspace was talkin about blacks and music and how it affects us. we get slack from other blacks if we listen to rock n roll, elvis, the beatles, etc.
i listen to all kinds of music, i listen to more reggaeton, rock n roll, etc more than rap and r&b cuz my music taste has changed so much. i met a blk guy who only listens to rock and punk music i was shocked cuz i wasnt expecting that. he told me he didnt like rap and r&B way 2 overrated for him.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/20/2009 9:13:22 PM | This question can be asked on two levels. One of which typically reigns supreme. Most (insecure) black men will ask this to see if he can be the first brotha she's (potentially) going to hook up with "Dumb isn't even the word". I've date interracially my whole life, often times women tell me, you've never asked me if I've dated a black man before. Why ask the obvious, if I messaged you on a dating website and you respond. On some level your comfortable with me. There's literally millions of other things to talk about.
Now if we were communicating for some time, and things turn serious then I'd want to know something. If were at a family dinner and Grandpa is going to drop the N-bomb on me. Let me know, don't let me walk into that situation blind! Warn a m*therfer! I don't think the men asking you this are concernd to that extent. Thaeyjust want to know if you've seen a black pee pee before and is his going to be your first. (Weak)
Granted there are women out there who will sleep with a man because he's black, just like there are women who won't because he's black. I find both equally worthless. In conclusion if the best a man has is "ever dated a black dude?" With in the first 5 emails I say move on.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/20/2009 9:49:31 PM | It really sucks that if a person is not the "IDEAL"
Guy: Hetero, tall, fit, handsome, rich, great car
Girl: Skinny, blonde, big boobs
That
1. We have to endure constant overt and covert crap from society and the media about how "wrong" we are and how much fixing we need;
And
2. That some of us feel we have to "warn" others (I do all the time), or make sure they know what we are/look like/how much we deviate from the "ideal" because we either feel inadequate, apologetic, and/or don't want to get that abrupt rejection (I've experienced it) when someone finds out we don't strictly adhere to that "Ideal".
I, by the way, don't care about height and am only attracted to those with bellies.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/21/2009 8:40:43 AM | | i had ppl asking me have you dated white guys, black guys, or even asian guys before, good to know i'm not the only one, maybe i should start asking ppl have they dated asian girls before | |

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/21/2009 10:13:40 AM | | Yes, I think that men should just ask you out, or ask for your phone number, instead o f asking if you've ever dated a black man. And as for someone being worthless because they won't sleep with a person because of their ethnicity, that's a new one! Not attracted, not attracted. Does not mean that the person is worthless as a person. I don't think men who aren't attracted to asian women or any other ethnicity are worthless. | |

I think that everyone should put in their profiles who they WILL date....that way no one's feelings get hurt.
amen! last time i put in the ethnicities i was lookin to date, omg i got so many emails from blacks and mexicans ****ing at me callin me a racist cuz i didnt prefer them. there are different ways of sayin what ethnicities ur lookin to date.
it would save a lot of time and trouble, and if ppl's feelings are hurt cuz ur not one of the ethnic groups someone is lookin for then move on.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/21/2009 4:16:33 PM | I usually get the "So, have you ever dated a shorter man?" Because Im so tall...I figure its just their way of asking, "Am I too short to date you?" which to me, is silly..
Men are hung up about height........Ive been almost this tall since I was 10 years old.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/22/2009 8:21:27 AM | I am not sure how it is like at your end, but when I answer yes, sometimes I get: how many black men, from where, were they good in bed, do you like only black men, do you date anyone other than black men, etc etc etc. My favorite however was "have you ever "experienced" a black man?... LOL | |
|
| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/22/2009 9:22:41 AM | as long as people think that there is a difference between dating a black guy, white guy, green guy....
There will continue to be RASICM.
We are one color.
What if the person was color blind?....

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/22/2009 10:42:34 AM | Every single black man who has messaged me has said "ever dated a black man?" I dont get it.. I answer "I have dated a green one..why is there a difference?"
I really do not understand what they mean..is it a "selling" point..?? TANTRA.
I can't respond as to why he did, OP.
However, I have asked a Non-Latino if they have dated a Latina before. Why? Because it will give me an idea if this person embraces cultural differences/diversity and such. Although I was raised in the states, I am very culture-oriented and it is a big part of my life.
Thus, I would definitely not be a woman for someone who is closed-minded and who's family would not be open to introducing someone into "their world" who was not of their ethnic background.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/22/2009 3:32:16 PM | Lots of times white guys will ask that question of white women, and if the white women say "yes", they get called a bunch of nasty names, so I have been told!
And that sucks! | |

Lots of times white guys will ask that question of white women, and if the white women say "yes", they get called a bunch of nasty names, so I have been told! Wow, that is awful. That's a reaction I've never experienced. A couple of times, when a white guy's asked me this, it's been a lead-in to his confessing to me that he really prefers black women, but thought he'd try a date with me anyway because he just liked me as a person! Closely followed by, "But..."
Which isn't a big deal, really. They probably would've done better to follow their attraction preference, but how could they know that for sure beforehand? And we were all younger then, too. This would surprise me in someone my age.
A few others have just wanted to know if the famous difference really exists. A little insecurity, I guess. Also not a big deal. I told them that as far as I can tell, everyone's different individually, and they accepted that fine.

| saying to me ever dated a black man? Posted: 10/25/2009 3:18:10 AM | ha lint - I generally come back with - are you asking if I date outside my race? because the truth is - it's none of your business if I've dated a black guy or not. if you want to ask me out, do it. don't mean you have the right to know my business | |
