| Washington state importing convicted criminals Posted: 10/11/2009 10:53:53 AM | | Hey sassy, I guess I am one of those 'concerned community members' you refer to-which is why I posted the thread-wanted to get more info. The posts on here have been very educational, and your info is also quite useful. I agree with you that some of what goes on is enabled by women or women w/ kids who 'look the other way'. I'm not willing to keep my mouth shut on the issue tho, bc I see it as destructive to healthy community. I'm not looking for who to blame, just asking for light to be shown on the whole spectrum of the problem. I agree with you that sentencing is a key part of this. I s'pose in a perfect world judges and legislators would ask the opinion of PO's and those tasked w/ enforcement of offenders. | |

| Washington state importing convicted criminals Posted: 10/20/2009 9:38:58 AM | It's a free country my dear, the state doesn't "allow" anyone to enter it's borders. The constitution does...
Not only that but you need not have such a shallow mind and think that all convicted "criminals" are bad people. There are A LOT of good people locked up in prison who shouldn't be.
Everyone deserves a second chance. Or are you one of those people who think we should lock everyone up who breaks the law and throw away the key? Oh wait, at least until someone you know or care about screws up then we should be lenient on them right?
Maybe if it happened to someone you cared about, you might give a crap instead of being a shallow-minded idiot. | |
