| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 9/8/2009 12:53:52 PM | Three weeks of dating and you are lending money out to someone you really don't know.
<div class="quote">I am a nice guy and I will always remain who I am at heart. There is a huge difference between "nice guy" and "weak and gullible guy".
I heard worse hard luck stories than you have, meeting women on the internet. One even gave me the "I'm getting evicted in 2 weeks with my two young children" line on the first date. You say "good luck with that, sorry I can't help you" and move on.
<div class="quote">What recourse options are available on this site to warn others of this player No need sunshine, most of us are smart enough not to lend money to strangers. Smarten up and loose the "I'm a nice guy" defence whenever you do something stupid.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 9/9/2009 11:45:29 AM | Doesn't it say, right here on this site, NOT to lend money? You saw the signs and chose to ignore them. Write this "loan" off as a gift, and learn from it--don't loan money again.
As far as warning others off, I don't know what you can do. Report her to the administrator I guess, and maybe they'll delete her account.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/28/2009 1:35:48 PM | OK, let's not focus on the negative $hit because what's done has been done instead let's look at why this happened and how to prevent this happening to you again.
I certainly did not have extrea money to be lending and know this isn't a smart practice You feel into a trap known as the 'Trick bag'. You believed that if you did somthing nice for your lady she'd like you more but the opposite happened and here's why. If I said "Here, these are the keys to my merc drive it around for a few days tell me what you think". You'd drive it and you'd enjoy it. If I said "Hey I really need your help building this mini and after it's done I'll let you have it for the rest of the day." You'd actually enjoy the mini more and why? Because you feel that you earnt that drive. You came right out of the trick bag doing her a favour and she didn't earnt it now she's lost respect for you.
I am a nice guy and I will always remain who I am at heart. Next time a woman asks if she borrow some money from you Don't lie or make up excuses because that gives the impression that you would give her if you had it say straight "I'm not doing that" she'll press you as to why then tell her "Look it's my money if you need to borrow money ask your friends, relatives or go to the bank I don't lend money it's not my practice. Never mix business with pleasure". If she's still pushy say look "If I lend you money it's business and I'll need some collateral." She will of course be offended but I want you remember this BigKid777 if she's really feeling you she'll be p*ssed off annoyed but will get over this however if this is a deal breaker - charge her to the game and move onto the next - Real talk! Never try to buy a person's affection you don't need to do that alright! Don't worry about it OK have a nice day - brother.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/29/2009 5:53:04 PM | I sometimes get a kick out of stringing along women who try to play scams like these. Pretend to be the "easy mark nice guy sucker" and see 'em get more and more PO'd when they don't get any.
Failing such an approach, you can always report such scammers to the administrators. Maybe get their IP address flagged. Of course, some unfortunate honest people could get caught in the crossfire if they share a computer with such a scammer.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/29/2009 6:02:29 PM | A fool and his money are soon parted. I've read posts about how the guy had to pay for the baby sitter only to discover the sitter wasn't getting paid at all.
^^^ to the previous poster I've done this before to a woman that was obviously a con artist. Eventually she was son infuriated I wouldn't loan her $200 to buy a coach that she made an attempt to slap me. I ducked it once, I ducked it twice, she got angry and stormed off from the date. I looked for her, couldn't find her, gave her a call, no answer, so I left.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/29/2009 7:30:12 PM | dude, if it's larger than 15$ it's probably a test, which if you give into she will ask for more and more later on. if it's larger than 30$ feel free to assume you're being scammed. | |

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/29/2009 7:36:03 PM | Wow! But the title should have been "Loaned Money After 3 Weeks"
What's du mater fo you?
YES, A fool and his money!
I dated a woman, who asked me to lend her money to buy a car. A declined, and when questioned why, I told her that her credit was no good and she wouldn't pay me back! She snapped back instantly " I fuk you". Too funny! Yes, they are out there!

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/29/2009 7:50:35 PM | OP, you learned a lesson and hopefully the amount you lent did not make it terribly expensive. You could file a claim in small claims court against her, which would probably make it a public record. You are unlikely to win if she claims that you never lent her the money. If you are going to lend money, always have the person sign a promissary note that states how much was lent, any interest and the payment terms (when does it need to be paid by). At least then you have a record. If nother else, you warned others on this site to be careful of lending money to anyone, especially those that y0u have only recently met. If someone wants to borrow a significant sum after knowing you only three weeks, you should always wonder why they would go to you as opposed to someone who has known them longer. | |

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/30/2009 7:23:12 AM | I am a strong woman in many ways, but I wont ever have the guts to ask anyone for money. Its just not right.
The flip side of this is I dont give any money to people that I expect back. So unless its something I want to pay for or buy for them (and sometimes I do that in a relationship or family), I dont hand anyone cash.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/30/2009 9:44:04 AM | Obviously some people don't watch Judge Judy.
Depending on the amount and if you have her real name you can try to track her down and sue her, but the onus would be on you to prove that the money was a loan, and not a gift. I'm willing to bet there was nothing in writing either.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/30/2009 4:01:37 PM | Hope you learned your lesson! Women aren't the only ones who do this sort of stuff though!
I have an ex (who is on here, by the way) who asked to borrow $2,000 from me when we had only been dating a month. I'm not that stupid. I wont screw up MY credit because of him. I found out shortly after we broke up that he still owes thousands of dollars to three other girls who loaned some out to him.
Learn from your mistakes. Don't loan out any money--at least not large sums. $20 or so would be ok.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 10/30/2009 9:03:36 PM | OP, your post made me LAUGH!!!!! It reminds me of a lyrical line by Dr. Dre,
"...A fool and his money soon split, so when you come across a fool get all that you can get."
Bro, stop dating strippers. You're not Donald Trump or a Congressman or a Lawyer; you cannot afford it.

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 11/2/2009 9:25:20 AM | You gave her the $$$ ????
Did you have a brain tumor for breakfast????
NEVER EVER EVER EVER give money to anyone you just met!

Do NOT loan anyone money! I realize that some of you have been jaded by life and I truly hope that ya'll toss out such dogmatic statements carelessly rather than really meaning it.
Being generous is not a fault and helping someone does not make one a "sucker". Everyone in the world is not a con artist. In the scenario given, if I had decided to help her out, I would have considered it a gift. Thus, the advice I would give is not to assume everyone is out to take you but rather simply do not give money that you can't afford to give.
Also, if someone needs help for a specific reason, pay the expense directly to be certain where the money is going. Remember that episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where Ray decided to give his brother cash to help him out and his brother went to Las Vegas?

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 11/2/2009 11:42:41 AM | | If you know the insurance company and the name of the person than small claims court it is if you don’t then hard cheese. use the law or they well do it to some one again and again. | |

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 11/2/2009 10:29:31 PM | | Hey, uh I could use some money to uh, buy some things, uh for my broken down um car, yeah, that's it. I also have some, uh, bills I need to pay before Guido, my landscaper shows up to remove some extra limbs. Could I get your checking account number and we can just do an e.f.t? Thanks and I'll pay you back. | |

| Borrowing money after 3 weeks Posted: 11/3/2009 4:58:10 AM | I certainly didn't have to keep reading this thread to know that the OP is gonna get the business. Dude, you aren't supposed to use names or usernames when outting someone in the forums.
I guess it serves you right for whining on the forums for not being cautious for loaning money to someone you knew only 3 weeks.
Lesson learned grasshopper.
P.S.: Can you loan me a couple of bucks until I get my next cheque? lmfaoooooooooooo
