Wiz i never implied the pats were going down hill, just it was a rebuilding year for them to fill in a few spots that were open.

We played good today minus Big Ben. Dixon needs to play better next week to have a shot against beating the titans. Should be a good game. Our d really needs to not let Chris Johnson get free.

BIG win for the Steelers. What a nail-biter! The defense and special teams (minus Reed missing the 40 yard FG) played really well; and Dixon and the offense did just enough. Titans game will be real tough next week; but, hey; 2-2 is looking real good now for the 1st 4 games!

Just about everyone picked the Titans over Steelers; another great defensive effort by the Steelers. What a way to start out the game with the reverse on the kickoff for an opening touchdown! Good coaching by Tomlin; the OL and DL rotation proved vital in that heat. Yes, the offense is bad; but what do you expect with a 4th string QB running it? 2-0 is a great start! Steelers should get Leftwich back this week, too. Now, 3-1 or dare I say 4-0 is possible in the first 4 games!

I'm really impressed by the Steelers victory over the Titans. The D held Johnson to like NO yards. It's gonna be hard to pick against the Steelers this year when this D is so strong.

The Steelers were lucky to escape Miami with a win. Still, the win was costly with the loss of DE Aaron Smith. Smith is likely done for the season, and when he missed significant time in two of the last three years, the Steelers D was not as good. It's time for Ziggy Hood to step it up. And, the offense is going to have to start scoring more as the Steelers D has likely gone from great to good for the rest of the season.

Do the Pats now suck because they lost to the Browns or is this just the excuse some use when our Steelers lose to the browns? Just asking as it seems the Saints are not the only good team that lost to the browns this season.

For the past 3 seasons, the Browns have managed to beat the defending Super Bowl Champs. Perhaps the Pats weren't on the Browns schedule after one of their Super Bowl victories and the Browns finally caught up with them!
Peyton Hillis excelled in both wins over the Saints and Pats!

Almost blew that game. Great first half, bad second half. Maybe the steelers got too relaxed going in at halftime with such a large lead. There is always a double edged sword to having big leads going into halftimes like that. You're up big but then at the same time you can tend to start getting too relaxed going into the second half because of that large lead.

Wow this thread getting a bit long in the tooth.

I definitely believe the Steelers will lose this sunday night matchup against the New England Patriots(11-14-2010)

The Pats could beat the Steelers, but I wouldn't call it a lock or anything. This season has taught us that "on any given Sunday" is truer than ever. The Browns blew out the Pats only last week. Of course, that means the Pats will probably play really good against the Steelers.

I'm a bit concerned with the injuries to the offensive line, though. Max Starks (put on injured reserve) has been a key part of the O-line, and that could spell trouble for the Steelers this Sunday and beyond.

I would have to agree. There actually hasn't been any teams out there that have blown our minds, not like last season with teams like the Colts or Saints. There hasn't been a dominate team this season.

The Pats have a way of making the Steelers look like a very average team. It's troubling that the Steelers seemed so out of sync on both offense and defense for much of the game. The Steelers are only 3-2 since Big Ben's return. I hate to say it, but the Steelers seemed more focused, especially on defense and special teams, the first 4 games without Ben. Now, with the injuries piling up, this season is suddenly looking shaky. The game this Sunday against the improved Raiders is going to be very important. Hope the Steelers are ready for it!

Ngata gets fined 15 grand just for treating Roethlisberger like Roethlisberger was trying to pick up Ngata's sister in a bar???
Come on, that's funny, right?

Steelers beat the Ravens for a birth in the AFC Title Game. I believe it's a record 15th appearance in the AFC Title Game since the 1970 merger. Playoff victory #32 puts the Steelers one behind the Cowboys #33 playoff wins on the all-time list.

I told you so.
Yesterday I went 2 for 2.
People picked Ravens but how long a team can live on luck, as they did the entire first half.
But I think GB will be a challenge even for the Pats in SB, if they play as good as yesterday.

Thanks justnancy! No worries, you've always shown class and respect on these forums. Heck, I'm just glad the Pats are knocked out, as they are the Steelers kryptonite! Of course, I'd love to see the Steelers have a 7th Lombardi for their trophy case; but I like the other three teams, too, so it's all good! What's interesting is that the remaining 4 teams are all good defensive teams.

I was down right disappointed with how the Steelers played during the first half against the Raven's. I mean we practicality spotted the Raven's 14 points. Luckily for us the Raven's muffed up too and spotted us 14 points right back in the 2nd half which gave us a chance to get back in it and win the game. Sloppy win. It wasn't a text book win by any means but it was a win none the less. Now we have to get ready for the Jets next week and we better play a hell of a lot better then last week or else it's going to be over.

As a Steelers fan living in Baltimore, may I just say that this victory was SWEEEEETTT!!!!

I am also glad that the smirk was finally wiped off of Brady's face.

With those 2 teams eliminated, I can accept whether we go on to beat the Jets or not. Don't getme wrong - of COURSE I want the Steelers to win it all, but more that that, I wanted those 2 teams to lose.

As a Jets fan I have to agree with you about NE and INDY. I think Big Ben is one of the best QB out there. If he wins another superbowl(not this year I hope) he will have 3 . He already has one more than Farve and Peyton. But he is not glorified like those two. Like your coach said steel sharpens steel and may the better team win.
