For those who are mixed - writing with one hand but opening doors/jars etc with the other hand... it might be that your parents influenced you to write right-handed by putting the pencil into your right hand. My mum believes I am naturally left-handed but right-handed in some things due to her (unintentional) early influences.

You might find it interesting to test which eye is dominant too... http://www.sciencemadesimple.co.uk/page37g.html

I'm a lefty too. But I find it interesting because of a neurological thing I may have favoured my left hand as a small child because it had slightly faster motor skills and strength. So I might naturally be a righty, but circumstances encouraged me to be a lefty.

I'm a southpaw and proud of it. Only one of 5 kids like that. I'm also the only "different" thinker. I've always marched to the sound of a different drum. That has been my downfall. I'm the black sheep of the family because of it.

Even after getting my knuckles smacked in elementary school for writing with my left hand, I still ended up like that. The only things I do consistently left-handed are eat and write. Everything else in life I do with either hand. Drives people nuts.

I have an air mouse for my computer and I use it in both hands. Most people can't figure out how to make it work anyway, so they leave my computer alone.

I write with my left...kick with my left...but.....

I drink with my right...
My mouse is on the right...
I type more words with my right...
When lifting heavy objects I favor the right...
I pull and push doors with my right...
I sleep on the right and face right...
I..umm...you know... ...with my right...

Just like it>>> ...I wave with my left...

According to wiki 90 to 93 percent of the adult population is right-handed. It's not surprising that when "leftys" meet a bond is recognized.

This is interesting....
