Posted: 7/14/2005 2:55:35 PM | I used to think there was something wrong with me if I didn't have a full social calendar for weekends. I'm serious. Weekends were bad. I would park my car in the garage so my neighbors wouldn't think I was a loser being home alone on a Friday or Saturday night.
That was a phase I went through. Now I have a pretty good balance of social life and alone time. | |

Posted: 7/15/2005 2:56:46 PM | Lonesome... I have to say that I dont mind at all being alone. Its being lonely that hurts the most. There are times when I can be in a room full of people, or even at my job as a race track announcer, surrounded by hundreds of people, that I tend to feel lonely. And thats the feeling I hate. Being lonely... Guess its something mental where I just shut out everyone only wishing that they would at least say hello. Not sure how to put it into words... just tried is all, as we are at another Friday night!

Gotta get the bi-nocks out to visually visit the neighbors daughter; the frog traps are set and I have to check them in order to have lunch tomorrow, I’m scouting for 4 new hub caps for 14 inch wheels and the new neighbors who just moved in down the block look promising, the pool closed at 10 pm and it’s time for my swim now that it’s after 10, and those pesky kids next door need their bicycle tires adjusted. Posted: 7/15/2005 8:30:07 PM | Oh man am I ever lonesome tonight! I'm still new to this singles stuff. I got married to my high school sweetheart and we split up a few weeks ago after 20+ years - didn't see it coming.
I miss so many things, I feel like I'm losing my mind. And the silence is awful. I'm used to having 3 kids running around, TV's blarring, laughing, arguing, playing. Just the simple comfort of having other human beings around to share life with.
I know I'll get used to it eventually - but on nights like tonignt, I find it hard to believe. | |
