Posted: 7/5/2008 1:18:38 PM | | I agree with a lot of what has been said though i don't have kids to miss around the place and most of the time i don't mind the quiet because a lot of my many nephews and nieces are around alot! I also agree with the being surrounded by people but you can still feel lonely. I tend to try to remember that there is always someone worse off, i visit alot of elderly or sick people so i be glad i have my health and know that i would rather be alone and lonely at times that with someone and feel lonely often! Also tomorrow is another day and we don't know what will happen! | |

There's people everywhere. No one should sit home hostage to being single. Single doesn't have to equal alone. Get in your car and go somewhere...life's too short!

We put too many demands on relationships it seems. I used to get pretty down about being alone until I realized that no matter what, I will always be alone, even if I did have a wife, girl-friend, or partner there is no guarantee that she will stay with me until the end of my days, regardless of how I treat her. Sometimes you have to make loneliness the solution, or else it can engulf you. I try to meditate allot. Sometimes calling trusted friends helps but I am going to sleep now. I can be lonely in my dreams, or maybe I won't... We'll see... | |

i miss real people, real tv, rush hour traffic, happy hours, crowded malls, the long ass line at the bank, the horrible waitress, the late mailman.... i spend my nights in my room cleaning my weapon, wondering what shit i'm gonna be in the next day, hoping my humvee dont break down, and wake up to smell of a burning city, sometimes the sound of mortars, hearing the haji's playing they're prayer music over the city, and then i get ready for anything. am i lonesome? yeah. and what do i miss? i miss my country and everone who's in it..

So I really don't miss much, since I have no idea what I'm missing. But I guess my past relationship inexperience's screams red flags to all the ladies. So I'm sure I wont get much of a fair shot. They would rather meet guys that have 1 or 2 divorces. At least that proves those guys can commit...lol Pathetic. | |

Sux big time. Its the only time i CAN go out and i miss my kids big time and then i have to get myself ready, get myself all psyched up to GO out....i dont know really what the prob is...it isnt the lack of not having a date its the lack of motivation on my part at times. and self confidence maybe? or maybe not? Cause sometimes when i get there im expectin this big tall 6 ft 4 guy and there is no way in heck this guy is that tall. lol....just tell the truth man

Though there is someone I like as a mate that hints that he'd like me to, I dont want to make a booty call. Its not mindless sex I'm lonely for.
I do miss real intimacy like I had in the only serious relationship I've had since my family split though. I miss the tingle of being in the presence of someone I love and who loves me back. I miss the smell and the touch and the sound of breath and how it felt on my skin. I miss the conversations where you are almost speaking out of the other person's mouth because you both know what the other person is trying to say and you talk about everything and nothing. I miss feeling like shit then having someone just stop to notice and smile a smile that says everything and it being enough to make everything ok....
There is so much I miss. But hey, I dont have to share my popcorn and can sit square in the middle of the couch whilst I watch my DVD tonight. Small mercies and silver linings! lol | |
