| What is with all of these girls who want a God Fearing man??? Posted: 9/15/2009 1:15:38 PM | All joking aside, I think all a person means by "God fearing" when written in a profile is that they believe in God and at least make an attempt to somewhat follow what is in the Bible. Basically, one person who goes to church regularly doesn't want to talk to another person who will make fun of them for doing it. They also may think that their moral standards are similar.
The merit of these thoughts are of course up for countless hours of debate.

I mean if you believe in god, isnt he supposed to be good? So why would you fear something good? Doesnt make any god damned sense to me at all.

I would stay away from the profiles where people make it a point to indicate they have a personal relationship with God, that religion is important in a relationship, etc. They're far less likely to be open-minded about dating someone outside of their own religious beliefs.
But is this comment being open minded? We all just have a different way of seeing things. We pick and choose the type of people that works for us.... Are we not than, all closed minded in a way? What I may be open to, someone else isn't... and visa-versa.
Women who wants a man in their life that lives a more morally, Christian like lifestyle, means just that. If you're not that way.... just move on. What's the big deal.

I’m glad i don't fallow Christianity... I’d go to hell just from the shit i did as a child. Lol And yea... sinning is fun. And possibly good for you and it's the cure for cancer.
And besides, god says you're his flock, therefore you are sheep, and sheep get fleeced.

They should change it to "seeking a fearless defender of Love and Justice"!
Superman?............ well I do like a man in tights!
not heard anyone use the phrase God-fearing partner... an I do attend church. Can't say I've seen that on any profiles here either.
maybe it is a man who will Love, Honour and Obey as per the Bible.....or someone who will not break the vital Commandments in the Bible... like the adultry and lying.

I generally don't consider religious beliefs in a prospective partner. As long as they respect our mutual differences, whatever they believe is fine with me. I even make this clear in my profile. I wish I could say that level of tolerance was extended to me more often, but most of the Christian guys I've messaged instantly reject me on the basis of being non-religious. Yet, here I stand accused of being the closed-minded one!

I believe in a God and what not, but making me go to church and keeping my pants on is like saying I can't swear. Torture, I tell you!

So why would you fear something good? Because he's a vengeful God! (if he's the same one the religious right-wingers in America believe in), lol

The Fear of the Lord is the first step towards faith. If you read the good book, there are some passages that are cautionary in nature.
