Correct. It doesnt really matter what you write because they look at your pic and decide they fancy you. They dont register anything else. | |

A Touch of Fate says it all when she mentions all the good new friends I've made thanks to POF and I'll be helping her host an event soon which is a million times better than sitting alone on my sofa watching the box every evening!

Spoke to a few women, most message, then dont respond further, or respond to mine then dont go any further! I had one that seamt to go well for 3 months but she kept putting off meeting up, and eventually decided it wasnt what she wanted, so it kinda almost happened but apart from that, still not really met anyone or had much luck sadly.
Only one above that almost happened was someone who initially messaged me, all ones where ive messaged, never go anywhere.
I dont just look at pictures either, i look further at the profile.. | |

Try finding one that smokes roll ups ! Or does not turn their nose when they find out you do ..
a few dates iv been out on ...say on there profile that they dont smoke...but hey presto......they do....

Plenty of Fish has to be seen as just another way of making first contact. I have said it before, but I often repeat myself (I blame the Alzheimers), too many people look at the picture and arrange a date based on that, only too find out that the very good looking 6ft 4 ultra right wing butcher has nothing in common with the very pretty 5ft 1 left wing vegan with the huge tîts he has gone on a date with.
I have been on here for almost 2 years, and during that time have met my best friend, who is also getting married to someone she met on a dating site, a lovely man and not her usual 6ft + Daniel Craig lookalike. I have also had dates with a few lovely young ladies, a few very beautiful young ladies and one lovely, sensual, beautiful and extremely seductive young lady from the midlands, who I thought was the one for me, but sadly she didn't fancy me one bit.
So, in summary, just like in any other walk of life, you might meet what you are looking for on here, or you might not, but it certainly extends the possibility of meeting someone right for you. | |

Now i can go out safe in the knowledge i wont have to kick the front door open just to get back indoors.
Someone convinced me recently that not all Women are the spawn of the devil. So i thought i'd try dating one again........
I must say, it's all going rather well so far. Although my pof time will drop massively, but that only affects myself, so my concern is minor | |

However what I have found dureing my time on POF is an insight into the male mind that I had never seen before. And suffice to say its not a very good insight but has spured me on to try to find the exception to the rule that must be out there somwhere.
Altho I have come to the realisation that I probely wont find him on line. They are not going to fancy me by seeing a still picture of me no matter what I put on my profile, they need to see me in action so to speak lol | |

I have on my profile, just the numpties do not bother to read it properly, just like the fact I mention an intelligent mind is a must...
I didn't think it was that unusual a trait.
Not for men, seemingly so for women...

Posted: 10/12/2009 3:05:57 PM | Personally, I wouldn't have a problem even if a woman smoked a pipe, but it wouldn't occur to me to be that specific in my profile. There are probably more things I'm willing to accept than things I'm not, so it wouldn't be practical to list them all.
That's one of the many problems we have to deal with. Often, we are looking for specific things in others, yet not finding them because profile info is usually more general. | |

It's early days yet, but I have been spending a lot of time with a woman from here recently.
The first meet was about 9 hours long, the second 36 hours and the third was a little over 4 days.
