at no point in that post has it 'been assumed that shes a liar because she is a glamour model.' ??

That is your take on it and does not necessarily mean you are correct.

Nor do I.............It was the irony of your 'assumption' !!

That was apparent when you posted the icon was it? The meaning behind it. Glad it made you laugh though, I see nothing to laugh about about the subject of rape or sexual assault.

So you are saying it's ok to make money out of the story whether true or not ?
I stand by my previous post ............

That is not what I said, please do not put words into my mouth. Do you know she has actually made money out of this issue? What I said was, how she profits on her private life has nothing to do with the fact that she might or might not have been raped.

Meaning, the fact that she has sold stories relating to her life in the past does not necessarily mean that this story is untrue.

I wish people would stop the so you are saying, if I had wanted to say what you alluded to I would have said it in the first instance.

I am not going to get into a cut and paste war over this issue, particularly with someone who thinks it's acceptable to use smiley icons on this subject and then state that it was because of the irony of an assumption that I never made in the first place.

I'm not going to score points on this subject, I'm the very last person who would want to and that is the end of it as far as I am concerned.

Let’s face it. Being raped is not the same as having your television stolen or your house broken into. Nobody ever thinks you somehow “invited” having your television stolen. But there is still a very large vein running through this society holding unconsciously, maybe, onto the notion that a woman who is raped - particularly if it is an acquaintance or date rape, the most common of ALL rapes - has somehow invited it, on some level. Is there a difference between rape when a stranger drags you off the street by knife point and rape where you drank too much alcohol or other substance and were unable to prevent sex through diminished responsibility?

No, because date rape can happen with someone you trust and care for, no means no, it does not matter if you are smashed out of your skull on alcohol, no still means no. Right up to the point of having penetrative sex, no means no and if someone is too pissed to give consent then the person who wants to have sex should leave them to sober up until they can make a decision, not assume their body is there for the taking.

Just because someone is an acquaintance, it does not give them the right to brutalise you and it is no lesser an experience than being raped by a stranger. Being unfit to decline does not mean that someone has the green light to rape you and anyone with half a brain and an ounce of respect for a woman, or man would realise this. As I said earlier, only people who are wired up wrongly would even dream of it in the first place.

Rape is rape and attitudes need to change dramatically.

Look at the way people have assumed Jordan must be lying to get publicity. She doesn't need publicity, she blows her nose and it's in the press.

Date rape can also happen when someone is 100 per cent sober.

That is your take on it.

No, Its a fact please re-read it........show me where the poster has assumed her to be a liar because of her profession ?

That was apparent when you posted the icon was it? The meaning behind it.

To those intelligent enough yes.

That is not what I said, please do not misquote me. Do you know she has actually made money out of this issue? What I said was, how she profits on her private life has nothing to do with the fact that she might or might not have been raped.
Then I am unsure as to why you raised the point in response to my post in connection with her possibly making money from her allegations as no one has stated otherwise?

Meaning, the fact that she has sold storied relating to her life in the past does not necessarily mean that this story is untrue.

I agree but it weakens its credibilty dosent it? Which incidently is the point I am making.

I wish people would stop the so you are saying, if I had wanted to say what you alluded to I would have said it in the first instance.

Theres nothing wrong with people verifying what others have said.

I am not going to get into a cut and paste war over this issue, particularly with someone who thinks it's acceptable to use smiley icons on this subject and then state that it was because of the irony of an assumption that I never made in the first place.

Address the post and not the poster please it shows a weakening in your debating skills and the losing of the debate itself.

I'm not going to score points on this subject, I'm the very last person who would want to and that is the end of it as far as I am concerned.

The term 'point scoring' seems to be a trend on here recently generally used by those unable to debate further.
Imo Theres nothing wrong in being unable to answer questions but there is in not being humble enough to admit it.

It seems to me that if a woman is too pissed to consent to sex she is more likely to self-blame for the position she finds herself in, hence the reason why it goes un-reported in many instances. I'm not saying it's right for a man to take advantage of her when she is clearly intoxicated, on the contrary, I'm sure any decent man wouldn't. However, I do wonder how many people go with the view that she relinquished her own personal boundaries through getting drunk/stoned and therefore she brought it on herself?

I don't blame a woman in such circumstances for being raped - it's not something she chose to do. Rape victims are, regardless of the environment the rape takes place in, victims. That said, she did place herself in an extremely vulnerable position, needlessly.

Not me.

I can hold her responisble for being in a position where left herself vulnerable to rape, but the blame for the rape itself lies squarely with the rapist.

I guardedly agree. It begs the question that if a man gets drunk and ends up getting raped by another male, would we say the drunk man made himself vulnerable to rape? You're absolutely right that the blame for the rape lies squarely with the rapist. I'd add that the victim's actions, dress, whereabouts and state of sobriety should play no moral or legal role in the matter whatsoever. 'No' means 'no', and that should be the end of the matter. Applying 'secondary' blame serves only the rapist, as it diminishes his guilt.

I'd rather not if that's quite ok with you. It is possible to interpret a statement in a way that is different from another person on here. It may not make person A 100 per cent right and person B 100 per cent wrong and I certainly don't think that something is a "fact" just because you or anyone else states it to be so.

To those intelligent enough yes.

Well I just interpreted it as inappropriate.

I agree but it weakens its credibilty dosent it? Which incidently is the point I am making.

Again, your opinion

Theres nothing wrong with people verifying what others have said.

Perhaps the manner in which the verification is asked for is something to think about?

I'm not here to hone my debating skills, I'm discussing something on an internet forum

To those intelligent enough yes.

Ah, I've to address the post and not the poster, but the above comment, while not directly stating that I'm unintelligent, not only suggests that every other poster on the thread knew the significance and indeed the irony of the laughter icon but that because I chose to say what I did about the use of that icon, I may fall into the category of not being intelligent enough.

I'd actually call that quite insulting.

The term 'point scoring' seems to be a trend on here recently generally used by those unable to debate further.

I'm not part of a set of those unable to debate further, I simply am not going to engage in ongoing debate when I'm being spoken to in a certain manner. That is entirely different.

If a woman claims to have been raped shouldn't she report it?

The simple answer to all this is, yes of course.

However, Jordan/Katie or whatever the feck she is called these days is obviously no woman.

She is a poor poor excuse for a human being and thrives on being a media freak.

Bullshit like this how she supplements her income and increases sales from her shitty products that she hocks to any naive moron willing to by into what ever it is she is trying to sell on any given day.

And it works. Because here we all are talking about her.

I personally wouldn't piss on her if she was on fire and I certainly don't find her attractive in the slightest.

I'm willing to bet that within a year her and that orange moron she called a husband will be reconciling and hocking their remarriage pictures to what ever trashy tabloid mag will pay the most.....

If you haven't been able to work out by now, I really can't stand Jordan...

Octo 777. Shame on you Sah.
For the sake of good Lord Harry cant you see the wood for the trees.
Jordan is a respectable and important role model for our children. A light shinning in the darkness. She should be made a Dame for the tireless work she has done to aid breast enhancement. Her singing and acting skills put others like Pamela Anderson in the shade.
How dare you presume that Jordan is a poor poor excuse for a human being.
She is a beacon of hope to millions of chavs in Manchester let alone Cardif.
I nearly wept when she opened her heart to Piers Moron in what can only be described as the most important interview in the last 100 years. Diana and Bashir have nothing on this Jewel of the Nile. The way she described her new lingerie line (3 for 2 at primark) made me proud to be British.

really? It was reported in the Daily Record that the guy in question was Scottish and unless I'm getting my wires crossed, the guy you are referring to isn't! Was he even a celebrity back then? (if you can call him that!)

Anyone notice that numerous Sunday papers aren't very impressed with her latest publicity stunt.

More than one noted that it invariably concerns "a well known celebrity" rather than some Joe from down the road.

There is nothing this woman won't do to make money.

But they invariably printed stories about her regardless of whether they were impressed or not right?....

The papers need her as much as she needs the papers.

I think you're confusing the low end rags with the more slightly more respectable middle market and quality papers.

The former prints the stories about her, the latter comments on her publicity stunts.

There is no such thing as bad publicity so by simply commenting on her publicity stunts they are still giving her publicity.

The best thing to do would be ignore her. But ignoring her doesnt sell papers....
