Kegel exercises are those we do to help prevent the occasional leak, especially if one has had children and is now the age when she is going through menopause. Sometimes these (occasionally) embarassing leaks occur when sneezing or laughing.
There are other better reasons for doing Kegels :P

>>> There are other better reasons for doing Kegels :P Well, maybe not better, but definitely more pleasurable.

| Walking Posted: 9/17/2009 11:22:33 PM | i don't walk when i go to the beach...
i'm either lying on my towel...or swimming... as today, it was beautiful in the water.
i do my exercises when driving, no push ups though...
it's called "multi tasking"...

| Walking Posted: 9/17/2009 11:39:47 PM | Hmmm I obviously posted on the other one and now it's gone... Not playing now | |

| Walking Posted: 9/18/2009 12:18:10 AM | Not the only twin thread in recent days. It's the moderators new test of us lab rats' ability to walk the walk and talk the talk without loss of comprehension by posting to the wrong twin. Ever walked a twin? | |

| Walking Posted: 9/18/2009 3:58:57 AM | In my everyday life, I drive everywhere. For the past 4 or 5 winters ( can't remember how many now) I walk Negril's 7 mile beach daily for three or four months. I've probably walked on another dozen Caribbean beaches in the last 10 yrs, a few Meditteranean beaches and local beaches, in between time. So, I consider myself somewhat of an expert OP, when it comes to whether of not there's any beach walking going on.
Here's my observation: I see lots of YOUNG couples walking hand in hand. I SELDOM see older couples doing this. Since I walk alone, there's no shortage of young fellas who want to walk with me. Not one older guy has asked me to walk yet? Perhaps, older guys are walking in the "figment of their imagination"? That's probably where they're DATING too........

| Walking Posted: 9/18/2009 4:19:44 AM | try again... it's nothing exciting...
i usually fall asleep...
though not when i'm driving ...

| Walking Posted: 9/18/2009 4:20:39 AM | | I lived at the beach for 20 years but I never walked on it unless you count gathering up garbage people leave as walking. However, fishing, swimming, digging clams count me in. Isn't that what beaches are for? Right now I'm still recuperating from one of those antlered bambi rats running into me on 2 wheels at 50 mph and can't wait until I can walk 2 or 3 miles again. | |

Playing in the water just off shore with the sea creature is so relaxing... They just love bananas.
Which is why I never skinny dip.
I walk the nature trails near my house in the fall and the OP is right. I see a few couples walking and occasionally a female or two, but it certainly isn't reflective of all the profiles that state how much they love to walk. Maybe they're walking the clothing aisles at Macy's?

| Walking Posted: 9/18/2009 8:43:57 AM | Walking...but not on the beach. I like to walk on the streets...evenings...night time...in beautiful romantic European streets. Discovering new cafeterias...restaurants... | |

It was probably one of those three or four times a week they all go to the gym. great reply!!
Don't know why I clicked on this thread, seeing as I roll instead of walk! But here I am nonetheless. And as a matter of fact, I go out "walking" every day that it is not raining. But ON a beach? Nope, wheels won't go even 2 inches once I hit sand. Somehow NEXT to a beach? I'd love to do that every day, but it's 3 hours away. Go walking with a man? Sure!

| Walking Posted: 9/18/2009 9:20:08 PM | With all the folk advertising their beach-walking lust, you would think that beaches are pretty crowded places, especially in the evening... with the moon... with the candlelite-no that's different sport The fact is the darn beach closes an hour after sundown and only the Ranger walks the beach to make sure there isn't any hard core teenage necking happening... And that's in the summer. In the winter I can trace down my last week's steps if I go two weeks in the row. But what do I know, this is Illinois, the sticks! | |

| Walking Posted: 9/19/2009 9:38:05 AM | I live at the beach . I can't see it from my windows but can hear the surf. I walk on it every morning for an hour before work, watch the sun rise. Sometimes I see dolphins.
If I found someone who wanted to walk with me he'd have to be quiet so that I could continue to enjoy the peace.

| Walking Posted: 9/19/2009 10:29:47 AM | I don't read women's profiles, so I don't know what they say.
My profile says my favorite outdoor activity is "... is hiking/walking/rambling." It says it because it is true. I haven't had a car in six years, so I walk or take mass transit daily. When I go to the gym, I walk a 1/2 hour through the park to get there.
When I travel, I walk a lot and will look for ways to get long walks or hikes in. When I was in Menton, France, I walked from Menton to Monaco along the sea. I also walked from Menton to Italy. Recently, when I was in Crete, and I walked from one archeological site to another, a couple of times, about 4 kilometers each way.
The beach, when I lived in the States (the Pacific NW) was at least an hour's drive away, so I didn't go every day, but when I did I walked on the beach for hours: my dog loved it. But that is because the water is cold and generally the weather is cool/cold and damp. When I am at a beach that is sunny and nice, I swim, for an hour or so each time I go in, otherwise I am lying on my lounge chair reading a good mystery.
When I was in England, I walked in the Lake District, Cornwall, the Cotswalds, etc. When in Ireland I found great walks too. I have a book, "Country Walks Around London." Britain is a great place for walking. When I am traveling and in cities, I walk for hours, often as much as 6-8 hours in a day, with a few short breaks. I buy very good walking shoes. It is essential!
I love to walk/ramble/hike. I put it on my profile because it is true. I have no idea why anyone would put something on their profile, saying they like to do it, when they actually don't ever do it.
|
| Walking Posted: 9/19/2009 2:58:52 PM | | My profile says that I like walking, because I do (my knees have been trashed since college, so running is out of the question for me now) but you will NEVER read that I like "long walks along the beach". Even if I did like that (and I live nowhere near a beach), reading that in someone's profile always makes me snort...such a tired romantic cliche...it makes me think that they are saying that just as a come-on. | |

| Walking Posted: 9/19/2009 11:03:21 PM | | I like walking for dates .. although in winter in Alaska you really have to bundle up .. it's cheap and you can talk and hear the other person .. I also like taking walks better than going to restaurants .. I'd rather not gain 10 pounds every time I start dating someone because he wants to go to restaurants all the time. Walking can be in a park, or just wandering the streets seeing the sights. It doesn't really matter where. | |

And sometimes, walking home from a date can be simply exhilarating.

| Walking Posted: 9/21/2009 5:39:14 PM | i considered this topic this weekend while visiting my brother and his wife in fairhaven, ma. we must have walked on 12 different beaches in 3 days. my brother fished, i watched birds, and his wife kind of alternated keeping company with both of us.
i do love to walk and we must have walked at least 6 miles each day, between the salt marshes, the wildlife refuges and the beaches. i have to say, though, that i saw a world of difference between the true ocean experience and that of the gulf, the bay and the sound. the ocean, on the east side of cape cod is the real deal. i didn't walk on that one. i just sat and watched the cormorants, the seals, the plovers and the gulls as they hunted for dinner.
i may have to move to new england. i don't think i could walk on any beaches south of there.
