Certainly SOME are on a drug trip, or cannot do without alcohol as a result if the business they are in..but then..how many bar flies, and seemingly 'fun' girls in other walks of life aren't on some kind of a trip these days?
As for the lass considering taking up a position in this line of work..my daughter rather stunned the family by breaking the news she was going into it, as she had three kids to feed, and working as the qualified medical secretary she had spent three years getting qualified for, was only paying 4-500$ a week
When she pointed out she made that in an evening in tips and pay..a 6 hour shift..ergo she only needed to work three days a week to have MORE than enough to support herself and family, along with being able to spend more time with them..the family just shrugged and said..'Go for it!"..mind you..she threatened to embarass heck out of any of the male members..me included, turning up unannounced to see her act!
She stayed away from the drugs, and the jerks, and competes in the Women's bodybuilding championships this year..at 40 yrs old!
Not bad for Ms! Junk food Junkie of twenty years ago..she's proud of herself now, and what she has achieved...as are her kids, who all knew what she was doing from the start. | |

I never really had a problem with dating quite simply because i just did NOT HAVE TIME to date! But the few people that I have dated since leaving that business have not had an issue when I told them about it.
To the girl that is considering getting into it, please listen to the advice in this thread! Stay away from the drink and the drugs. Set a goal, then get out there and achieve it. Then get out of the business. It is not something you want to do for very long, especially if you have children. But the money is fantastic and if you are smart about what you are doing you can dance for a few years then walk away while your kids are still young and have a nice little nest egg. | |

Posted: 7/14/2005 10:08:36 PM | I can't see why not. There are many different types of dancers within the community. I've met some that do sexual favours for drugs. I've also been good friends with a couple who are single mothers. They just do it for the copius amount of money that can be made.
If you know that she's dancing and NOT hooking, there's no reason not to. | |

Posted: 7/15/2005 8:02:28 AM | There was a time when all of my friends were dancers and working in the entertainment business. I had a roommate that danced and I meet many girls through her. I stayed away from going to the clubs to watch them dance but I had no issues with them doing that for a living as long as she was coming home to me...which she did. Most dancers are doing this for s hort time anyway and if they are smart they save the money on getting the things they could get before...and education, a car, a house...what ever. I think men have jealousy issues or mistrust issues and that's why they will date them but never go to the next step.

But she needed the money to go to University and pay for it herself. So she became what her family called a peeler. She had the same boyfriend she has now. She got that education. Made $2600.00 a week. She does not drink, smoke nor even swear. She is a sweetheart. The whole family came to terms with it, and loves her no matter what. Strippers are any body's daughter, sister, friend, and come from all walks of life. The industry does have problems. Tanya never went to strip without an escort. So she avoided the dark side of it. You cannot blame them for just doing a job. She is done now too. Made the money and moved on.
My personal opinion? I would never do it, would not want my daughter to do it, but in the circumstances of each life it's not our call to judge anyone for what they choose to do with their own life. More power to em, if they have the guts to get the glory. Strippers are just ordinary guys and gals doing a job. So I wish them well.
Would I date one? Well heck yeah! He would probably be a Chippendale and who in their right mind is gonna kick one of them to the curb?? | |

And please don't bother with the "I only strip to work my way through college". I am sure there are exceptions, but like this site, you have to fight your away through a lot of psychos to find someone normal. | |
