| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/22/2009 4:36:49 PM | | Well sounds like she was used to getting her way. I just can't relate; I don't think I've ever asked a man I dated to buy me something let alone a first date! | |

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/22/2009 4:39:02 PM | I had a surprise when a girl I was driving home from school grabbed the wheel of my car when I was about to miss a turn. At first I was completely stupefied, I didn't even have the presence of mind to take back control of the wheel until I saw she wasn't able to turn it enough to miss the curb. I was so stupefied I couldn't find any words to ask about her sanity, give her trouble, or tell her I was planning on taking the next left (thank Christ there was no oncoming traffic!).
I knew she has some lose screws but I didn't realize the screws were completely gone and everything was held together with Bubblicious until then. I kept driving her home after that but I was sure to keep vary firm control of the wheel, which may have saved me from a vary serious car accident when she tried the same thing again but with traffic coming the other way. Besides plain crazy, I can only assume she thought I was going to kick the gas to avoid getting into a head on collision after she took control.
The course finished a week later so I didn't have to avoid her for long and no damage was done anyway but dude... throwing it into !park! while driving at 45mph?! I couldn't imagine such crazy wingbatery if not for my own experience and even now I can only barely imagine it. You say you handled it with as much civility as any human being could muster but did the incident really just end at vibrating tires and a few tense moments at work? I mean did you discuss it with any co-workers? Did you both continue to work there for a normal length of time? I'm wondering if other people may have had similar experiences with this woman.

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/22/2009 6:30:38 PM | Is it actually possible to remove the keys from a moving vehicle and jam a car into park? | |
|
| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/22/2009 6:42:56 PM | Yes you can throw the car into park while it's moving. I had vehicle engineers tell me that the parking pin in the trans is supposed ratchet and only lock when the car is stopped. Yet I've done it once before and ended up snapping the pin and blowing a whole in the side of the transmission $$$ I did it because I panicked due to the gas pedal getting stuck and the car accelerating into a right 90 turn. I was just learning how to drive & panicked.
To the OP : I know it's hind sight but you should have left her on the side of the road. As I should have done the same to my last date. Oh well live & learn.

Strictly sex is ok... Treat it in a professional manner. Bam Bam thank you maam.... don't even talk to eachother at work etc....
but dating? going out to restaurants ? WTF?
The last thing you want is a 'pissed dumb/irrational woman who happens to be your superior' ...

I honestly don't know what to tell u at this point. What i described in my original post happened. Whether you believe it or not makes no difference to me. Although, i will say, im a little confused as to how someone like yourself has become so passionate about this lil ole' thread. Your upcoming post will be so fantastic, that you had to give it a prelude post to let us know it was coming? lol I only shared the story because i thought it would be entertaining for others to hear.
And yup, you got me, dude! I am Mr. Coolbreeze. I got my shades on in my profile picture, dont i? Good work. If i was an attention whore, as you just described me, then lets look at some things id do differently that im currently not. I have an athletic body, so my main profile pic would definitely be shirtless, i would have posted more topics within this site than just the one here, i would have more than 1/100th of the introduction you yourself have put on your profile, i would post more often on other threads, i would have more than just 3 or 4 pictures of myself, and many other things i imagine?
I really dont get it? I mean, i read your profile out of curiosity. I read that you typically spend the majority of your time on the forums, and that this is because you dont get much interaction on your profile from the women on this site. Do you feel as though these forums are your turf, and im kinda like...stealing your thunder maybe? Are you gonna ask me to meet at the flagpole next after school? lol A little bit irritated that people have found the story amusing and enjoyed reading about it? Buddy, relax. It was an incident that happened to me while on a date. I shared it. There's really no need to begin the name callin and such.
And ok, im ready for this post you gave us a heads up about. Rubbing my hands in exitement. Is it gonna be epic?

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/22/2009 9:30:22 PM | | hahahah don't you think that his car should have broke too doing 40 mph and shifting it in park, do you know how complex transmissions are??? the gears would have torn themselves apart at such a speed, lets be serious here. | |

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/22/2009 10:51:58 PM | Hehe...this story is boring at first then became like a serialistic nightmare. The plot is predictable, but, oh man, the twist made the ride riveting with a couple of skids and 360 spins. Man, I give you 4 and half stars on pulling out of the tough situation. As for you date, you can give her a middle finger 2x. | |

That's not a high maintenance woman, that's a friggen whack job and a level 5 whack job
Agree. This woman is a wing nut who also happens to be high maintenance. You're lucky the transmission didn't fall out of your car which would have cost 1000s to repair. It's beyond me how someone believes they can get away with stuff like that. Both men and women have to be held accountable for their actions. I would have told her to get out of the car and walk her sorry a$$ home.

my main profile pic would definitely be shirtless, Ok, no you are making me totally question your intelligence the forumites. Naked torso photos aren't allowed...duhhhh
You have that slow of reflexes not to be capable of when someone is grabbing your keys, that you wouldn't be grabbing their hand. Of course you would! People reach out when they think something could fall or jerk forward. You would not be allowing her to just grab your shift, she could not shift it that fast before your reacted unless you were incredibly impaired driving. Then you put in the story about your tires...gahhhh please...anti lock breaks don't leave a bald spot from stopping suddenly.
Defend your trolling behavior, you wished to embellish your story for attention. If it is working for ya, great...just don't get how anyone can believe your story. Gosh when you realized the keys can't pull out of the ignition, you suddenly were like, ummm you think I would remember...plllzzzz yes, YOU SURE AS HECK WOULD! That would be reportable to the manufacturer of the car and it would definitely be considered a safety hazard and car mags etc. would mention the defect.

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/23/2009 3:14:11 AM | I can just see it all playing out on Judge Judy -
"So you say she got mad and took the keys out of the ignition and threw it into park while you were driving?"
*looks at woman*
"That's outrageous!!! Judgement for the plaintiff for $4293.99. Next time mister, don't be so stupid and pick better women!"

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/23/2009 6:39:58 AM | Hahahhhaahahaha I've been chompin at the bit on this one for 3 days.. waiting till I could post.. I'm glad a few guys saw through the bullshyt in this post.
Like the others said, the trans would not go from D to P while moving at that speed, and if it did you would have been chewin on the steering wheel and ended up with a cut lip if not worse, not to mention it would have grabbed R first and shattered a few teeth off that gear and then popped back out to D....and as far as your date, she would of had it worse since she was leaning in towards the center of the car... twisted in the seatbelt... Thats besides the keys being locked in the cylinder.. she would have had to turn them back, and then pull them out.. not possible while the car is in gear.. even if it were a standard shift, she would have had to push the release button, or hit the brake pedal to realease the cylinder lock..
Also.. coming to a stop at that speed for the short amount of time the tires were locked up even in a braking situation is not enough to put a flat spot in them deep enough to feel it..
Nice try.... | |

| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/23/2009 7:14:04 AM | I guess the jury in, and you've been found guilty, something this poster ( creativeintuitive1) and another poster , cant recall his name said, that actually made me phone my mechanic and ask is it possible to pull keys out of a car going 45 mph, and I was surprised by his answer.
His response was, NOT possible unless the car in question is a older car 70's early 80's and the key is worn down, newer cars you have to put it in park on most models, now if what you say is true then either you have a really old car or maybe you dreamed the whole thing and thought it was real?
Or the whole thing is B.S.
|
| She threw my car into park... Posted: 9/23/2009 8:38:29 AM | it isn't possible if your being nice to the ignition.....It is possible if you force it
Now throwing the the car into park is my hard part because there is a reverse lock out on automatics when the car is in forward motion so the best she could do was throw it in neutral. If at all cost this is true then you sir have a really messed up car that has to see a mechanic because the ignition switch needs to be replaced and your transmission is not in a happy place and I hope you have a good warranty.
After that being said the girl could kindly get out of my car if she is throwing a temper tantrum and is messing with my shifter, ignition , or anything involving the mechanical control of the vehicle.
Now in all fairness to the OP, you can turn the car off while in motion and being a automatic and still in D would have similar reaction as if being put in park if your torque converter was locked but it wouldn't at 45mph maybe 60-70. I don't have a automatic nor am I willing to test it and I think you should take your car to a shop and stop dating high maintenance woman.
