I have to admit there are times - rare - when I do feel old, times mostly when I get frustrated at not being able to do something I used to be able to do without even thinking about it. Then I think about Grandma Moses. She didn't even start painting until she was in her later 70s, and she kept going past the century mark. If she could learn something new, how to paint instead of using a needle, at that age, there's no reason I can think of why anyone else can't. All they need is the desire to DO.

I'm only 50 (haha, never thought I'd write "only 50!!), but I have set goals for myself to keep me looking forward to the coming years, such as:

playing soccer into my 70s
getting a motorcycle when I'm 85

Ok, the motorcycle is a joke; I don't like 'em. But, yeah, I do have little goals for certain years and I expect to reach them (God willing) by taking care of myself, saving $$ for them, etc.

Can't wait to be the oldest woman on the soccer field!!

Well, its a great goal, but it crept up on me quite unexpectedly (as a man, of course).

Play on a field that is near a Senior's residence. On nice days there will always be a few spectators that make you realize how young you really are....:)

I look at it this way.

If I had a penny for every time I rode around the sun since I was born...

I STILL can't buy a Coke from a vending machine!

I just turned 61 a couple months ago.................don't really like the sound, but I'm the same. I didn't start knitting or anything.............But I've had some milestone birthdays in my life, this one was actually rather calm. Just a number guys (for us anyway).

Yes, isn't odd how as each birthday comes along you feel exactly the same from one day to the next, except that nobody else feels the same about you? People are so influenced by the package they perceive, and pay no interest to the contents of the package...

Sixty hit me *really* hard -- until the day it happened, and then I was fine. But the year I was 33 was the toughest, and the one I've felt the oldest, in my whole life, lol! About two thirds the way through that year I figured out why I was so depressed: 33 was next to 34, which was right up against 35, which was halfway through the 30's, and therefor rounding up, I was very nearly 40, which is about the same as the fifties, so I was *really* 60, and 60 is just the same as being dead. . . . Had a very good laugh at myself, but the depression didn't lift till I turned 34. What a waste of a good year, lol!

I now have 11 days less than a year till I'm 70, and I'm younger than I was when I was 33 ~~ the human, being, is a *very* odd critter, eh?

Well despite my aspirations, my fiftieth birthday was just disappointingly boring. So when I eventually get to 60 it is going to be party, party with lots of sparkle and free bus pass trips.
