so you are good with 34% of your GDP even though other nations get a much better bang for their buck? you really think the nation can support that? dream on.

Aetna - swimming in our dough

Cigna - swimming in our dough

UnitedHealth Group Incorporated - swimming in our dough

WellPoint, Inc. - swimming in our dough

no wonder the government programs are bankrupt. costs a lot of dough to keep those Aetna yoga rooms, in house organic bistros, in house gyms etc going.

A much better solution to the expense of healthcare is at

http://rsc.tomprice.house.gov/Solutions/EmpoweringPatientsFirstAct.htm

It is ironic that govt regulation of the health insurance business has led to high premiums and then the Congress complains healthcare costs too much and needs MORE regulation.

For example, some states mandate that health insurance covers drug counseling. Since I am not an addict or plan on being one, I have no need for that coverage. However, I cannot opt out of that because THE GOVT says I have to have it!

Yeah, but that was when the lobbyists for the health care and insurance companies were telling the congress people what bills to push forward and how to vote on them. It also helped to create the mess that we have now having a president that just went along with that type of business.

Things have changed significantly now, and you can hear the health care industries and health care insurance businesses crying foul because they have lost significant amount of control over the people in congress, and the president won't just play ball with them.

The USA has the best health care in the world

. . . for those who have access to it. And many don't.

The original point about Armey is that *he* has access to the best health insurance available yet he lobbies vigorously to keep others from being able to access the same benefits. Almost his entire adult life, he has been covered by the best insurance available provided to him by state and the federal government. If I, as a self-employed person, could opt into the same insurance program, my premiums would be lower and my coverage would be better. But as an individual, I have to pay higher premiums, have less coverage, and have exclusions on any conditions that existed before I got the coverage. I can be dropped at any time. (This has already happened once when United Health Care decided to drop all their individual policies. They reinstituted them a few years later.) If my insurance company decides to drop me, I can be denied insurance by other companies. I've already had friends who have been denied insurance. In one case, one of my friends was denied insurance just because she got *tested* for MS, though it turned out she didn't have it.

Armey actually *sued* to have his cake and eat it too. He tried to keep his Congressional insurance instead of shifting to Medicare when he started collecting Social Security. He wants even *more* than he's entitled to, even though he's had a lifetime of privilege.

If Armey were in the shoes of the working poor, the unemployed, the self-employed, or those who are denied insurance, I'll bet he'd be singing a different tune. I challenge him and any other person who has benefits like his provided to them to *give*them*up* and go out, on your own, and get insurance on your own. If you think the way things are now are so good, go ahead and put yourself in that position and then come back and tell me about it.

Lifetime coverage is a great benefit and helps to attract those who are successful in the private sector and who most often choose to take large paycuts to become public servants.

I am not justifying the lack of coverage for millions of Americans and my opinion doesn't have any hidden agenda or make any subtle nuanced argument that must be blasted. It is indisputable that it is a good perk that helps to attract the most qualified individuals. That's all.

yea ~ they (people) get lost with their attacks ~ In the last 72 hours we've had GOP leadership promising to defend present Medicare ~ something the GOP always fought hard against, from it's conception. ~ The GOP don't know where to sh1t or wind their watch.

I had a friend email me some Obama socialist scare info last week.

I told her to just quit cashing government checks ~ and she find comfort in not being a part of the problem.

People are so full of sh1t. ~ And other people follow and believe them. D1ck Amry and Rick Perry are so full of it ~ they both have brown eyes.

The more people "have" the more they want!

I use to run with a couple that was so tight they squeaked when they walked. ~ As four couples on a weekend water ski trip. ~ Beer bought by the cases, whiskey by the half gallon, fuel by 6 , 5 gal cans plus what was in the boat, ~ food, generator ~` this one couple would bring themselves and maybe a small sack of grocerys. When it came time to pack up after a long weekend, they'd fret over a half empty bag of chips and wonder where they went, wanting to take them home ~ Several years of this behavior ~ we endured. ~ We couldn't help from laughing about it ~ it was laugh or get mad.

Now some 10 years later, they just bought a 2110 camero ~ beautiful car ~ after earlier this summer him buying a new scooter. Which I'm proud for them.

Caught her yesterday at the "local club" b1tching about a "cover charge" of 6 dollars for some great bands being booked. ~ I couldn't drink my booze in peace for her griping as she went on and on and on. ~ I came real close to unloading on her , something I never do. ~ I walked away.

Some people are just that way ! ~ They expect someone else to pay for their nice life and expect that you should. Their company seems to be over valued as far as I'm concerned. I can find something else to laugh at that don't cost as much.

That's just the way they are! They see nothing wrong with what they do!

They are entitled! Somehow, someway they are entitled. ~

You will never know such things about people by just looking at them or listening to them. How they justify their ideas of fair or their offering of contribution elude me.
