my female friends block any guy they do not like on the pic or income is not to their level so they filter out only guys they may accept Really? That sounds rather unbelievable ... I didn't know there was a place for us to list our income for all to see? Besides, they can't block anyone until they have at least received an email from them.
If I block undesirable women How do you want to block these women if they have never written to you?
OT ... Read/Deleted, Unread/Deleted, Blocked, No Answer ... it all means the same = they are not interested.

Whether someone writes to me should not make any difference.
The same that no one would block anyone for saying "hello", as it is due to the profile.
If I see someone has a bad attitude, on their profile, then I should be able to block that person.

| block anyone any time Posted: 10/28/2009 5:04:44 PM | The first time I ever blocked someone was back when the IM was working on here. This guy kept IMing me and asking me to meet him, even though I had sent him a very polite rejection letter. When I would decline the IM, he would just do it again, so the only way to get rid of him was to block him.
Another time a local man kept sending me cyber gifts. I had absolutely no romantic interest in him, having known his exwife and not wanting to date an ex. He was very persistent, and became rude when I refused to go out for dinner with him. Blocking was the only solution. I am thankful that he didn't know my place of employment at the time, or he would have made a scene there. Apparently he stalked another woman. Don't have any proof of that though.

| Being blocked? Posted: 10/28/2009 5:34:52 PM | Is it just me, or does it seem rude somehow to block someone who sends a first email? I mean, unless something in the mail or profile is extremely offensive, it just seems . . well, rude.
Then again, I think read-deleted or unread-deleted are also rude... maybe I'm just stupid in that I'd reply even if not interested.... heh, and I never thought I'd wind up being the bastion of courtesy.

I have answered every first email that has not been offensive with some type of polite response even if I see that there would be no point in furthering communicating.
I think that is maybe why some on here are wondering why the block on first email.
