| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 12/26/2004 10:56:41 AM | It might work, and might be it would not work. People are individuals, after all. My main worry is this: many of our men who have taken a wife from Russia, Thailand,... threat those women in a way they would never dare (or to be allowed) to treat women from their own culture. Too often it sounds they are "buying a nice package" suitable for their needs without asking how this other person really is, what she wants, desires, thinks... At least in Finland many Russian-Finnish marriages are just a chatastrophe - even though we share some similarities. The problem is usually men's attitude, unfortunately. You should marry a nationality but an individual, right? | |

| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 2/11/2005 12:01:58 AM | Thanks Richard for your story. Some friends of mine are looking for women from Russia and Ukraine and I can confirm that experiences differ. Jost want to point that, roght, most of Russian ladies have no access to the Internet and have no other choice as to deal with agencies. As my friend told me, it's kinda luck: if you find a real agency that deals with real women, you are most likely to get what you want. He uses WifeForever.com and so far he's happy with their services. He's gonna go to Ukraine this fall. Hope he'll have s story to tell when he's back.
All the best! Moris. | |

Message: What they do is get you to buy their way into the United States, they marry you to become citizens, then end up dumping you. They usually prey on weaker guys who have a hard time finding dates, so they figure a pretty young Russian woman pays them some attention and they can smell the visas. I heard of that happening to a former co-worker of mine. Cost him a few thousand bucks, could have been worse.
Bingo. Sorry to rain on the parade but this is 100% accurate. One of my employee's fell victim to this scam 5 years ago. As far as overseas women, avoid Russia. They're still commy scanks, your best bet is old fashioned asian countries, and south america.

| Russian mail order brides NA! Posted: 12/14/2005 10:58:13 AM | This just in on Yahoo:
Belarusian lawmakers... passed legislation that would crack down on Internet dating and online spouse searches in the latest of a series of stringent government controls backed by authoritarian President Alexander Lukashenko. The legislation would place new restrictions on organizations that promote dating or that help match potential suitors with spouses, particularly via the Internet.
Good, keep our boys checking out the local dames!

| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 3/30/2008 9:22:39 AM | "To me 29 years" In Russian it's "U minYAH 29 lyeht".
I've gotten e-mails like this before. The "lady" professes her undying love for you from the get-go, sends you pictures, but most of the time she doesn't answer your questions and she's using a professional mass-emailing software program called The Bat.
You can play along with her until she starts asking for money.

You won't find any. Those that don't marry before highschool graduation move to Toronto.
Now the fellows of North Ontario, end up drinking and hunting Moose, or moving to Toronto to find a girl to take back to North Ontario

| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 11/3/2009 4:10:58 PM | I immigrated in USA with three minor children not as mail-bride, but as refugees. All my relatives were exterminated, except my mom and dad. (Google - millions of Russian Christians murdered in Soviet Union). Two years later American small business owner with two minor children proposed me. I sold my apt. in Moscow, and gave him $41K to help him out with his business, worked as a nurse day and night 5-7 times a week. He set me up to pay to him permanent and temporary spousal support, overpriced my house for over $100,000.00 and put me in jail for one month, because I was not able to refinance my overpriced by him and his attorneys house (he sold his own two houses and hid the money, reported to the court $1500/year income) I could not give him 50% of not existed in my house equity.
I transferred to him and to his new wife my house and left.
I do not think that all those mail brides can even come close to what American man did to me and to my trust in American men, Freedom and Justice.
This is how I learned about New World Government. I encourage every participant of this discussion to check out websites of Henry Makow, extremely knowledgeable and honest Canadian Jew of Polish origin
www.savethemales.ca www.henrymakow.com and www.cruelhoax.ca
in order to understand what is going on with the world and why people do not have honesty and morals anymore.

True. Most women from Canada that I have seen on POF prefer to stay in Canada. With the way the US has been lately I can't blame them. Except I don't know if I could survive the winters up there.

make the process easier. Find a stranger, a beautiful woman here, and write her a cheque for half of everything you own. Move out of your house and give it to her, and then never see her again.
Ta daaaa

Enjoy.

tuffluv1984: Why are there no mail order grooms? Women aren't this F'in STUPID! Another fool parts with his money. Dying of laughter here... I would disagree with the "women aren't this F'in STUPID" comment. Many American women have been scammed by foreign guys, most of them from Nigeria, and I'm not talking about the 419 scam where they claim you'll get millions if you only give them your banking info. These guys give these women false hope and milk them of their money. It's been a topic on daytime talk shows, not that I watch them that much except when I did dialysis for 4 years, though I did catch one Dr. Phil episode on this very topic.
Yeah, you do have to be careful. The best experience I had was with a Brazilian woman. We wrote and called each other for 3 years before I went down there. It would've been about a year sooner if I hadn't owed the IRS about $1,300 because of not enough money being withheld from my paycheck, but I'm no fool with money so I was able to pay that without having to borrow.
20 years ago I went to Mexico after having written a girl for less than a year. I ran out of money. My parents delayed sending me money on what our Mexican-American neighbor told them. If they had sent it right away, the girl's family (mother mostly; the dad was out of the picture) would've thought I was rich and would've had me marry her. When I got the money the girl and her friend meticulously took most of the money and left me only enough to get back on. I'm sure I wasn't the first guy they scammed like that. Overall, the Mexican people were very nice. It was just the people I stayed with when I was down there. Then when I got back to the States I talked to a Mexican friend's mom about it. She only speaks Spanish and told me not to stay with a girl's family should I go to Mexico again.
Looking back I'm glad that happened because I now know what to watch for. For example, if the girl's father is absent from her life, then most likely she's going to have daddy issues. Also, the correspondence should last at least a year before meeting. If she's impatient, it'll show and she'll probably stop writing. That's why it's a good idea to spread your net as far as possible. Give yourself the best chance to find the woman you're looking for. Another thing I learned was what she does for a living is VERY important in choosing a woman. The 2 girls in Mexico and Panama didn't even have a job. Neither had their dad in their lives. My Brazilian ex-girlfriend was a high school Portuguese teacher and it wasn't very likely she could get a job like that outside of Brazil. At first she thought that's what she'd do here. I told her she would probably have to train for another kind of job and ever since then she didn't want to leave Brazil. She didn't want to clean houses as many Brazilian women here do to make extra money. I knew one like that in Dallas. But you know, at least I was honest with her.
As for local women, I don't think so! The kind of local women I'd like are either too taken or too young (under 25). Most available local women have kids. I'm not interested in playing daddy or taking financial responsibility for some other guy's kids. And then there are the religious fanatics who only want a Christian guy, never mind that bigger churches have singles groups. Perhaps they're not finding the Christian guy who can fulfill her other requirements as well.... Plus, I don't think I'd have too much in common with local women. I'm not originally from rural East Texas and so I never became a redneck or country boy. One thing I've noticed about a lot of East Texas women is they have a cigarette in one hand and a baby in the other. Neither appeal to me. Dallas women aren't too friendly unless you're at least 5'10" and make at least $50,000 a year. However, I did meet some nice foreign women when I lived in Dallas. At times I wish I hadn't had the Brazilian girlfriend because there were some girls I would've gone out with otherwise. Then again, if I hadn't had the Brazilian girlfriend then I wouldn't have gone to Brazil, at least not on my own.
One thing that helps me is I'm good at picking up foreign languages. That's helped me professionally as well as with foreign women. I speak Spanish and Portuguese at an advanced level. I studied Russian for 2 years in college. To this day I keep up with my Russian and try to get better at it. The Cyrillic alphabet is simple compared to Russian grammar, I assure you!

| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 11/16/2009 8:57:09 AM | You are silly!!! SHE probably does not speak /write English and translated thou GoogleTranslate (from Russian into English), thats why her letter does not make a sense!!! Trust me, if Russian "fake" bride wants to cheat you, she will be using standard English letter....
Try to write in English and tranlate into Russian via Google Translate and give this letter to a Russian person to read, she/he will be laughing at your "translated" letter!!!

| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 11/16/2009 3:28:23 PM | Well, I've gotten quite a few fake Russian "girls" write me and their English looked like it went through an online translation site.
This is what I get when I type "I am 37 years old" in Yahoo Babelfish: "Я 37 лет старых." That is a literal translation; still, it is incorrect Russian. In proper Russian you'd say "У меня 37 лет" ("To me (there is) 37 years"). In Russian "years old" is "года" from 0-4 and "лет" from 5-9. It works exactly the same way from 10 on up: 10-14 is "года" and 15-19 is "лет".

| My first Russian mail order bride! Posted: 11/16/2009 7:00:01 PM | | Aren't these letters a scream? a few years back I got one too. Only this time they hit on the wrong guy. I strung them along just to see where it would go and how long it would take before they tried to close the deal. They sent me a photo of a Russian actress that I immediately recognized. Why, how, you ask? Well I've been well incorporated into the Russian community for YEARS through marrige. I speak read and write Russian fluently. When the inevitable attempts to collect money started, I let it go on just to see how hard they woud try to get me hooked. When I finally got bord, I wrote a nasty note in Russian telling them to go screw... communications stopped instantly. I wished I could've been there to see their reactions as I know it was the LAST thing they were expecting. | |
