That was a very inspiring story Colin and a big well done to you, and it shows how secure you are in yourself to share that.

Any establishment worth its weight, will ALWAYS question the customer, irrelevant of the country!!!

Thats a very bold statement and quite clearly bull sh1t !!

I don't work in an arcade , but as you will NO DOUBT know a bookies has machines , roulette etc etc ...

WE have no right to question a customer ..NO RIGHT ..

What we do from our side is moniter a customer if he is gambling big time , we have to ring up and get authorisation for big bets particularly if the odds are good and payout is huge !! We act with caution if a large bet is handed to us but no sign of the cash (this is a slow count)

But no way do we question a customer !!! Thats ridiculous ....!!!

It is breathtaking to see someone filtering their money through a machine , but none of our damn business where it came from ...

Never presume one business works the same way as another !!!

As for the chinese ....they are big gamblers , they are serious gamblers ..its no biggy !

So stretch armstrong, we're supposed to suspend belief and imagine that you were able to raid the coffers of your fish and chip shop employers by somehow alighting upon them through the ceiling of the flat above

The letterbox, was slightly larger than your normal ones. Sadly, I don't possess any superhuman powers . As I said, this was a fire escape route. That door, led to the main access point to all the flat front doors. There was another fire exit door inside, that led down to the restuarant itself. I did say they were empty flats at the time, so that other fire exit door was not locked. I have no reason to lie, or make up some sensationalised "story".
As for the reference? Nah he never gave me one. Though I think your question, might be a little tongue in cheek there!

I appreciate the comments on here and would recommend anybody to leave a compulsive gamblers who is not ready to give it up.

I read the rest of your post and well done to you, the only thing I don't agree with is the above. Sometimes people need support to get them through addictions, I can understand perfectly that loved ones might get to the end of their tether and walk, but others won't and that has to be their choice.

I could never date an addict of any kind ...it'd be like having a third person/entity in the relationship!

Exactly, and one with no conscience or morals that will tempt the addict 24 7.
Well done to those who admit to addiction but have found the strength to beat their devils.

I'm an old fashioned prude on this question. Gambling is immoral! The most obscene endorsement of this vile practice is the State National Lottery. I do not think that the state should be endorsing this activity.
Having said that I support legal gambling, because at least some controls can be placed on it.
I also think that hard drugs should be distributed legally and prostitution should be legal as well. It’s the only way to try and keep the criminals out of the business. The only person that can help an addict is the addict themselves.
Publicans and bookies should be taxed to fund rehab centres.
Lap dancing clubs should be forced to play Riverdance music when the girls are cavorting, in an attempt to inject some dramatic effect to their performances. Their aesthetic standards are appallingly low. The clubs should be taxed heavily in order to support the Arts Council which has taken a budgetary beating as a result of the recent credit crunch!
