Posted: 11/4/2009 4:27:25 AM | The race for a US representative from a NY district is the race that really speaks to the issue in this post. There was a definitively profound break among the republican factions, with Sarah Palin campaigning for an right wing extremist that opposed the Republican candidate. In the end, the democratic candidate won the election.
The elections of governors, even though they may have an effect as the talkings heads in the media start spinning the results toward their positions, are definitely local and, at best, regional in their implications for the national political landscape. The people of those states will need to live with their decisions, especially if the new administrations were to assume a militant opposition, like South Carolina, to the federal government. I doubt that this will be the case.
There is a lesson for the Republican Party in this election, and it looks like senator Graham has a point. It will be interesting to see if the Republican Party will develop a political strategy or it will just continue bouncing like a football, with no definite direction. | |

But bottomline, she in it for the loot ~ Just like so many others. It's not a calling to serve but the cash. As some Americans eat it up. ~ Everybody enjoys ice cream and cake.

" My guess is that you haven't. Never been engaged with getting the vote out? ~ It started at 5.30 am and goes until 8.30 pm with a short 15 minute lunch maybe. You get to see the people , the people who vote! Have you? ever volunteered to run a poll. ~ It only required 3 short classes and one very long day of your time.

Interesting opinion, but it seems as if the New York election for a House representative indicates that senator Graham may be right. The ultra right conservative lost the election because of the infights among the Republican factions. It looks like in certain areas of the country there will be discrepancies between moderate Republicans and ultra-right conservatives who march at the drums of Beck, Limbaugh et al. If that happens, it may be very difficult for the Republicans to be successful in areas where the people are more interested in solving the problems that the country is facing now. | |

Unlike the left who will accept anything as long as it has a (D) next to the name, the infighting among the GOP is because of politicians like Amnesty Graham, Olympia Snowe, Benedict Arlen Spector, , and even George Bush. Republicans are supposed to stand for a responsible fiscal policy, "legal" immigration, the rule of law, low taxes, basically the government getting out of the way so we can live our lives. These so called moderates campaign on these issues and then act like Democrats when they get to Washington.
We know the sycophants on the left won't self regulate but we hold our politicians to a higher standard. And we won't stand for that kind of cronyism from the GOP any longer. It seems the only people who want responsible government anymore is those that attend Tea Parties. The rest of the nation is fine with the status quo as long as their people are in power.

Total agree! The problem I'm have is that many of these same people that are spearheading this movement are the same ones that that got us where we are at today. ~They have called me unAmerican, unChristian, Picko , Tree Hugger, Give-me-crat, Dripping Liberal, Bleeding heart Liberal, Baby Killer, and lately a "brown clown lover" for refusing to support 43's administration and now this new packaging they offering . From heated debates to bar fights with threats of gun play. It's the same old thing ~ all over again!
So I agree whit what you are saying but I don't see any change ~ they are flying the same banner , calling me the same things and telling me they are "different!"

The patriot act, wire taps are good ways of collecting information. I know you liberals live in fairy tale land where the only threat is people with common sence. But America has been and will continue to be a target. Sane people try to defend themselves from risks. Collecting information aids in our defence. 911 is prooof positive that we need defence. So in know way can these great tools for collecting information be construed as parinoia.
Also America, like all nations have these things called laws. And in America it is a criminal act to enter our country in any other way than which is detailed in these laws.
The real ID would help us figure out who is breaking our laws. There again common sence not parinoia.
McCarthy was right! Was proven right! He is a hero to us not in love with communism. Which is why the left have reacted in a very parinoid fashion at just the sound of his name.
Not wanting our country to become a mirror image of Sadam and Gamorra is not parinoia. We do not round gays up and put them in camps. We just do not want to have to go against our morals and be forced to put a stamp of approval on thier behavior. And it seems to be a whole lot of Americans who feel this way. There is no state that has excepted gay marriage by vote.
Defending our constitutional right to own weapons in no way is parinoia, just common sence.
The ACLU is waging war on christianity. Christmas is a part of that. There is many court cases to prove my point. But you would have to read facts. That is too painful for you to even consider. As all liberals hate facts.

And it's true we helped the French in their time of darkness ~ when the dark forces of fascism raised it's ugly head through out Europe, ~ much like it attempting to rise again here in the US today.
But there is a time line to consider ~ History is a progression of events ~ This time line voids out any argument that you attempt to make about the French. ~ unless of course you wish to move history around for your personal understand and validation for your own twisted "views" We could well say, " If a pig had wings it'd fly" ~but pigs don't have wings ~ so any point is lost and your left with only a comical image of a flying pig.
Some people here in America today are falling into the same footstep of the German people after WWI. with the hate and anger for their fellow American. Willing to Lay blame are the wrong doorstep~ with one stroke of a wide brush "Liberal" You are looking for someone to blame for your pain and the things you see that "wrong" . ~ The truth of it is , you are late in being engaged and paying attention to your leaders and world events. This tiny crowd that you follow is just loud ~ in an attempt to make up for their small numbers. ~ Resolve and Resolution is not what they seek but a scorched earth cleansing.
And it may well happen ~ but if it does , you and me and all Americans will suffer like we've never suffered before and it will take two decades minimum to rebuild. This fight for "ideas" is what keeps places like Iraq and Afghanistan one step above a Stone Age existence.
Today, we suffer from the power of special interest as their money and influence has our elected politicians bought off as they bleed the nation of it's personal wealth. ~ This is the "enemy" and human suffering and conflict is their game. There has always been good money is war for a few and their "hanger on" crowd. All the middle men. ~ Much like the "Gentery" and Knights of old Brittan and her Royalty. All the rest being peasants and of no great importance other then to pay the Tax man and provide conscripts of regional warfare at the whims of the Royalty.
Each life is comprised of minutes ~ what you fill them with is your business . But I don't like having to take out someone else's trash. ~ You take out your own garbage. And you are talking garbage out of your Flustration and inability to make the changes that need to be made overnight. ~ What you want can't happen overnight ~ even if you do lay waste to the whole country.
So I suggest you cool your jets and realized you not in this alone and we have more then one group of peoples interest to consider. We endevor to get from point A to point B with all cargo and crew accounted for. We might well takes some losses along the way but we'er not throwing people or cargo over board and we are not scuttling the vessel.
