| Why are women attracted to musicians?
Posted: 12/12/2007 7:42:14 PM | I've been playing professionally for 25 years across the US and overseas and although I have met my fair share of the opposite sex playing music, I think there's a quirkiness and fun side to a musician that a woman cannot predict and thats part of what keeps a woman interested in us. We are hard to figure out and to say we are all "male sluts" is a ridiculous generalization. It can be that way, but it's not unless you have a death wish. To be able to play music for a living is a true gift and I don't think you should discount the hours in the "woodshed" it takes to get to the level of playing that actually can pay the bills and make others say "wow" that is so cool. Now for all the hotties in the audience, I say he among us who has not been weak at the beauty of a gorgeous woman at a performance, cast thy first bar chord!
Maybe I should have finished law school, are you kidding me? No way!

The power role too...for sure. Right now, Dave Grohl of the Foos is one of the most influencial musicians of our time. And ya...I must admit...there is a total attraction. It's definitely because he is a fabulous musician but also because he writes some damn good tunes and looks good on stage!!
Dave Grohl is God.
I was a full time musician for a few years, most of the time I had a steady girlfriend, committed relationships. No biggie. It was always fun.
The last band I was in. I'm on the left with the pink guitar and the LOOOOONG black hair.

We aren't around in the second video, because there were a couple bass bins we would jump onto and play from. The soloing is pretty weak.

I was more in to it because I just LOVE playing Music. I'm putting a cover band back together for some fun. Whether we hit bars, or just stay in my basement, it's still fun making noise with some friends. I agree that girls love if I play guitar and sing for them, but I don't just do it for anyone.

Posted: 12/13/2007 7:41:50 AM | I was married to a musician for twenty years. I played in the bands with him, since I can handle a guitar pretty well myself. The initial reason I was attracted to him is because I thought I could be his muse and he would write beautiful songs about his love for me! He wasn't a player at all, he was dedicated to strengthening his skills as a pianist, guitarist, bassist, and drummer. We have two children together and they are BOTH musicians. I would hate to think that they would be stereotyped as male and female Sluts just because they happen to be gifted musically.
BTW: He never did consider me his MUSE, and not once did he write a song about our love...... He started playing Christian music and now Jesus recieves his adulation. | |

Women are attrated to which ever men are fashionable at the time.
Over the years that has ranged from rock musicians 60s to folk musicians 70s to business moguls 80s to sporting stars 90s to gangster rappers 2000s.
Other odities have also found their way through the flavour of the year ranging from stuntmen to hairdressers, to skateboarders, to cleelbrity gardners, and chefs.
But, whatever they are, what they have in common is that right NOW all the girls are after them.
It's like the old row of swngs in the park. Two little girls are ready to kill one another over ONE paticular swing. Each one wants that PATICULAR swing for no other reason than the other one wants it. | |

...it's communication without words...and yes...that is a very attractive thing to a lot of women... | |

Women are attracted to musicians because they play instruments.
Music appeals to our souls. We relate the ability to make music with someone who understands that, hoping for a deeper connection.
That, and it takes confidence to stand up in front of a crowd.
Two qualities women look for.
We know most guys in bands are "male sluts" and will sleep with just about anything so why are women always attracted to them?
That would be the reason to avoid them. Heartbreak City, anyone?

...on the other hand...a girl who chases the dude on stage just to feel "special" ...she probably still needs to gain her sense of self...and it's probably a good match because the dude on stage who's trying way too hard to look cool is most likely not as confident and self assured as he seems... | |

Posted: 7/1/2009 7:18:31 PM | Perhaps there are only 99% attracted to musicians of 100% this one ol gal (ME) is never attracted to musicians..* Most* men in intertainment business has big Ego and womanizer,boozers, night is their life and few are lazy bums.............. Those guys are charismatic,romantic,sweet etc., so am I, that is part of the job,huh,okay that's the attitudes expected by the crowds.
I met a lot of musician/male singers , when I was a dancer, they can't score with me so the decided to treat me like a kid sister , they become kind and over protective to me like their real sister. Nuff said.. | |

Now that I work for a super rich guy, I tend to date rich guys, because they are the ones I have an opportunity to meet/hang out with. | |
