| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/8/2009 12:22:11 AM | Pete, I had proof in my last relationship that older men are anything but "old fat and boring". He was old, He was fat. But Oh My Lord! anything but boring. Not going to talk about it in any more detail here as he visits this site and I don't want to get the old buggers ego up.
You are right, not fair to judge men on their age and their beer bellies. OK to judge them on if they are boring, but have to get to know them a bit first before making that decision.
Arwen, you and I have obviously been reading the same books though not necessarily drawing the same conclusions from them. (Remember, Aragorn was 87. )

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/8/2009 8:26:27 AM | ^^^^^ ahahahahaha to the license post! I can relate to that...I just got my new picture in August, and even the lady at the registry said "wow, we can take this over" and I said...nahhhh...I think I'll keep it.
I've only had to use it twice so far as identification and both times the people stared at it...one even said ...really? you kept this?

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/8/2009 10:18:25 AM | I guess I am weird because I do not get the need to be so obsessed with age in relationships.
I have known women who are 33 that look 60 (smoking to blame there mostly) and those in their 50s who look 33, and were twice as healthy -- so really it is foolishness.
If people think lying about their age is going to disguise their lack of fitness and attitudes about health -- then they are sorely mistaken. They dont have to be very cute not-nurses to be attractive in the minds eye. Least in my humble opinion.

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/8/2009 12:11:20 PM | I dated a man a few years ago who said he was 46..the same age I was. He looked younger. BUT we went out one night and he threw his wallet into my purse. I went in the ladies room and as usual I couldn't find what I wanted in my purse.....so I dumped my purse upside down into the sink, so I could find my lipstick. After I finished I began putting everything back into my purse. I picked up his wallet and looked at his picture. I didn't have my glasses on and couldn't clearly make out his date of birth so I put on my glasses. GUESS WHAT he was 58 not 46. I was pissed that he LIED to me about his age. I really cared about this guy and we had been dating for about 6 months. My next thought was he had 6 months to tell me the truth..........If he lied about something so trivial as this ....what else had he lied about. Needless to say after that ALL of his lies began unraveling. The moral to this story is.......TELL THE TRUTH and leave the false ID's to the kids....you will find "her" regardless of your age. | |

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/9/2009 4:40:40 AM | I don't seek to date men 15-20 years older than myself, so a fake ID wouldn't serve any purpose for me.
As the others have stated numerous times, there are tons of men here who are blatantly lying about their age - more than once I've looked at a profile and actually laughed out loud when I saw the stated age verus the picture. I'm sure women do it too, but since I don't look at women's profiles, I can only attest to what I see on men's profiles or the ones I've met that admitted to lying about their ages. About 75% of the men I've talked to or met have told me they were actually 5-10 years older than the age stated in their profiles. Some of them attempted to use that trite old excuse about "making a mistake" on their age when they filled out their profiles - but amazingly enough, ALL had erred on the younger side when they made that 'mistake.' Funny, that.
One complete jerk was actually 63 but had put 51 on his profile. He arrogantly stated to me that he LOOKS 51, so therefore, he had a right to put 51 on his profile. Being as unattractive as he was, I guess he needed all the help he could get.

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/9/2009 6:48:44 AM | I took the OP's idea as being tongue in cheek, not a serious observation at all.
I would never think of trying to prove something that isn't true. Liars always get found out.
On the other side of the coin, I have shown my ID to prove that I'm as old as I say I am. People think I'm kidding when I tell them my age.
As is the norm here, I know some will tell me now, that I look as old or older than my age. That's okay. I know what I know. And that's about real life and real life observations from real people seeing me for the first time, in real life. Not from a picture.
I can't say if the OP looks older than he thinks, not having seen him in person. But it's not always about looks. Attitude, demeanor, personality, level of energy, etc., has a lot to do with people sometimes thinking we appear to be younger than we are. I see every year as a blessing. No need to try to discount any blessings!

| False I.D. to Prove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/9/2009 6:59:23 AM | | This reminds me of the 70 year old man who showed up at his club with a very hot 25 year old babe on his arm. A couple of his friends took him aside and asked him "What did you tell her, that you were 50?" The guy responds, "No, I told her I was 90." | |

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/9/2009 8:49:13 AM | I think it shows are real insecurity in who a person is as a person. Most of us want to date a confident and honest person, a liar is just that, a liar.
If I found out that a man had lied about that, it would be over at that moment at this point in my life. I overlooked it in two men when I was first divorced. They both said that they were younger than they were. I am not a good judge of age and besides, factors such as smoking and sun exposure can make someone look older than they are. Both of these men lied about a number of things, albeit is "white lies", but it speaks to an inherent dishonesty and insecurity which does not make for good realtionships.
VERY few people look younger than they are by more than just a few years. It is goofy to talk about how young you look when it is really up for the person who is seeing you to decide. Flattery is often insincere anyway, I do not put much stock in it, however nice it may be to hear.

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/9/2009 10:27:48 PM |
I'm 65 and often get told I only look 40 or 50 something but ladies I'm attracted to in their 40s won't date me because I'm "too old." Many guys who are over 60 tell they look like 40s. What will 40s something look like? If someone has told that OP is 40-50, she wasn't wearing her reading glasses because she is too old as well. If a man is in his 40s but obese like OP, he looks old like 60s. I respect people but not liars.

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/10/2009 10:45:49 AM | Well..I am old and look old and have no money. Also CONFUSED, in the last 24months here is what happen to me.Had a 28yo girlfriend then 34yo Tina stole me from her then 33yo Erica(Tina's friend) told me "I don't wan't Tina to say I was the **** who took her man away, but I can't stop thinking of you" that lasted 8 & 1/2 months 'till five months ago. | False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/10/2009 11:22:43 AM | | Riverkilt, you do look your age - just like I look mine. Creating a fake ID that takes away 20 years will make people wonder just what a difficult life you must have led to have caused you to age so rapidly - that sure doesn't bode well for future aging. Be honest and try looking for ladies your age who will appreciate a senior man. By the way, I have yet to ask for, or be interested in looking at a guys ID! Now if I were a bartender or selling cigarettes, then I would ask (but I would not need to ask you.) Let's grow up mentally here! | |

There's a Therapy thread happening presently...maybe you could take this over there? Or start your own thread? Maturity isn't something we gain by getting older. Jeesus...

Maturity isn't something we gain by getting older. Yes, people should be self-aware of themselves.
I never had anyone steal me from someone else. You are still young and smart to know who you are and where your position is...LOL!

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/10/2009 5:06:25 PM | Aye Carrumba....this is soooo silly.
So today I'm out and about town at our local domestic violence agency's fund raiser (I'm on the board) then later I'm down at our local hospital's Health Fair (I used to be on the hospital board). Its a small town, I'm seeing old friends and networking new friends. My birthday is next week and I mentioned I'm turning 65. ALL THREE people I mentioned it to - two ladies and one guy - all in their 40s told me to my face with a tone of amazement that I didn't look 65, I looked like I'm in my 40s...one lady asked, "What's your secret?"
Sure, they could have been blowing smoke up my tailpipe - but the reactions were so immediate and so sincere sounding, they'd be really easy to believe if you were an aging old morbidly obese geezer like me. So its really great that there are so many wonderful people on this board willing to set me straight, tell me I look my age, and keep me from belieiving those f2f compliments.
And, I still think there's a waiting market for creators of false IDs for us olde geezers and ladies. They're so focused on fake IDs for kids wanting to booze their livers into oblivion that they've missed us baby boomers clinging vainly to our youth.

| False I.D. to Prove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/10/2009 5:35:41 PM | | Haven't read all the posts, but am I the only one who wants to say I'm OLDER than I am so I can get the "wow, you look amazing for your age!" feedback? Of course, I won't try it b/c what if someone says, "62, huh? Yeah, that's what I figured. . ." :) | |
|
| False I.D. to Prove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/10/2009 9:12:20 PM | I'm 58. I have false ID that says I'm 72 because I like to hear people say how good I look for my age.
Truth: I had my turn being in my 40's, now it's someone else's turn. I try to be comfortable and gracious about what age I truly am. A life of self-denial, where you're trying to turn back the clock, is not attractive. It's verbal botox when you lie about your age.

| False I.D. to Prove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/11/2009 6:25:02 AM | Riverkilt,
I get those kinds of comments all the time but I realize they are coming from people who do not wish to call me an old geezer. I know how old I am without having to look at my birth certificate or drivers license. I actually like my age, many more single ladies in my age group you know!!

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/11/2009 6:37:39 AM | | False ID are always attainable but everyone knows thier fake if not illegal. The question is do you want to decieve a 40 year old women for the sake of your own intrest? You realize your going to be done, like a burnt french fry, when she finds out you lied to her. And if the relationship started off based on a lie, there is no correcting that. Yes false ID for being younger might be attainable but if your after younger women you would be better off dating women who have no issue with your cronological age, do you really want to date a women who you know has an aversion to someone your age? | |
|
| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/11/2009 7:50:25 AM | RiverKilt; I get the same reaction from people meeting me for the first time. If people are constantly telling you that you don't look your age, believe them! As I've stated before, one can't really tell much from a picture.
It's not always a plus. For instance, in some cases, if I don't ask for the senior discount, I don't get it. At the movies, there can be people in front of me who are in my same age category, and they will get the discount without asking. But when I step up, they will invariably give me the regular fare ticket. I know now, to always ask. I know you're not as old as me, but when I was your age, it was the same, with some not believing my age.
The plus side for me is that people use me as an example of what being a "senior" can be like. Not just because of outer appearance, but because they see how well I get around and live my life, and they admire my energy and attitude. That's what it's all about for me. Staying healthy and active. And knowing that I inspire some to start a healthier lifestyle means much to me! So, not seeing you in person, when people here say you don't look younger, ignore. There are many here who look younger than their actual age. I don't think for one minute that you were serious about wanting to fake it. At least, I hope not. Honesty is always best.
And I do get a kick out of the "WOW!" factor when I tell my age. That's more fun than lying would be.

| False I.D. to Proove We're Younger?? Posted: 10/11/2009 8:13:33 AM | Message 1 ...
I'm 65 and often get told I only look 40 or 50 something ... Message 95 ...
ALL THREE people I mentioned it to - two ladies and one guy - all in their 40s told me to my face with a tone of amazement that I didn't look 65, I looked like I'm in my 40s...one lady asked, "What's your secret?" Oh dear ... this guy insists that he looks 40 ...
Ladies, I vote that we just all start posting that he really does look 40 ... since that's apparently why he started this thread and wants us to tell him ... eh?
Riverkilt ... you really DO NOT "look" even close to 40 ... but it appears you want us to tell you that.
And now I'm sure there are folks in here who will take offense to this, but I'm just being honest ... while there are women who have admitted that they do enjoy the "Santa Claus" belly (it comes in handy at X-mas time when you're entertaining the children of those 40-year old women you're after), I personally do not know any woman who wants that to come "waddling" towards her in the bedroom ... nor do I know any woman who wants that "wallowing" on top of her in the bedroom or anywhere else for that matter. But then maybe I'm just friends with women who are not into heavy men?
And before you come back in here and say (once again that you were basically just kidding), that's not what you said in the original post and not what you said in Message 95 ... Message 1 ...
Still tempting to get a false I.D. that show's I'm like 52 or something to show the ladies in their 40s who ask how old I am.... Message 95 ...
... they've missed us baby boomers clinging vainly to our youth. In Message 61 you made an attempt to save face by saying it was ...
... for sure tongue-in-cheek about the possibilities for me... And I venture to say you almost had the ladies convinced ... until you wrote ...
It is sad to meet an attractive single lady that is "not too young for me" that believes I am "too old for her" based on linear concepts of age. Hence the temptation when I thought of false I.Ds.....
I think it's clear that you really do want to look younger so that you can attract the younger ladies that you are apparently so interested in.
One thing that might help (if you really do want to look younger) ... lose the belly and get a hair cut. Nothing says big fat old geezer more than the big fat belly and the long gray hair. Fat adds age to people. That's one of the reasons I dare say that you really do not look younger than your age.
You really do look your age, but if it will make you feel better ... here ya go!
!!!!!!!!Hey everyone ... look at Riverkilt ... look how young he looks!!!!!!!!
OT ... I've also been told I look younger than 60 ... and one time I actually had to show a man my driver's license to convince him that I was close to his age. So what? I'm still 60 and actually proud of it.
If an older man wrote to me and tried to pass himself off as even 5 years younger and I found out, it would be over. I have no tolerance for liars. NONE!!!
Honesty is the best policy.

You really do look your age, but if it will make you feel better ... here ya go! LOL! you know.....the saddest thing of all is that these guys just DON'T GET IT!!!! IF they really wanted to get the 40 yr old women.... they'd NOT lie downward about their age...they lie on the UP side!
If he'd just tell these women that he was 92, rather than 52....they'd be flocking to him like geese! By telling them that he's 52....they're thinking....ohhhh hell...he might screw up and live another 40 years! If he'd tell them he was 92.....they'd be saying....well hell...he's gonna die any time now so I won't have to wait long to get his insurance!!!!
