Is it what I believe should happen? Nada. But it's the polite thing to do. And I was raised well by Mom and 4 sisters! lol.
I can count on 1 hand how many times a woman has offered to either pay the tab entirely or offer to pay for her own.

Hey!!! It certainly does matter to me who puts it in. 
Problem is we will be arguing over who pays for the condoms......
I can see where mo-mo is coming from 'cause some guys can be pretty cheap & refuse to throw away outdated condoms. I used to know a guy who rinsed out his condoms then rolled them back up for the next session.  
The way I see it, the girl has to pay for the enticement goodies ... the Brazilian wax job, Victoria's Secret lingerie, whipped cream, chocolate, strawberries, etc. ..... & any yogurt that might be necessary. 
So I think the guy should buy the condoms, primarily because only he knows what size, thickness & style works for him. I've supplied condoms in the past where even the large size was way too small.  ... and once when the smallest size was way too big. 
And if the couple can't decide, then I think the guy should pay for three condoms & the girl should pay for three condoms ... assuming that six times is the average for a first time sex date ... it is, isn't it?
Those who keep saying the person who asks the other person out should pay for the date ... can you figure out from the conversation in my post #25 who did the inviting because to me it was pretty mutual, which is typical of my date arrangements, minus the meeting in the bedroom part of course. 
According to Dear Abby or Dear somebody's article about proper etiquette, paying for dates should be split according to the income levels of the two parties involved. But seriously, who the heck is going to start calculating percentages of their income on the first few dates to see how much each should pay? This would be more feasible once they are in a relationship.
I don't mind paying for my share of the bill or taking turns paying for dates, or he pays for dinner & I pay for the movie or whatever, because I understand that dating ain't cheap. But in the case where the guy has a very healthy income & says that no woman pays for anything when out with him, then I still insist on leaving the tip, paying for coffee or finding other ways to treat him. 
But still ..... when a guy pays for a date, it does make me feel like a girly girl.  | |

Hmm, I'd say because you asked "what time and day and place", you might have been the one setting up the date. In my opinion whoever picked the place (to eat at) is likely the person who would be paying for it since they would only pick a place they can afford.

I think I read that before too, but it omitted the "income levels" part. I can see where the person who drives a Porsche dating someone who takes transit would make a clear income level distinction. However wiki for "Going Dutch". It's culture centric. In my opinion, nothing rude about insisting on paying, but it is rude to assume the other party will pay (particularly if they leave before the bill comes.) | |

In my world It is a measure of the fellows generosity and behavior as a gentleman when he pays. If I am interested I will ask him out to have dinner at my home as a thank you. As to the sex . I explain that am only interested in sex with a man that is interested in being in relationship with me. I also state that deciding to be in relationship takes a lot of time and attention by each person involved IE. courtship. Usually if the man is only interested in sex I never hear from him again. And that is no loss.

Then there are times when I insist and once I insist I keep insisting as no one will win on insisting on anything with me lol but that can cause quite the scene and makes him think that I did not wish to see him again and embarrasses him in front of everyone. (I know! HE should stop insisting lol) Then there is the situation which has only happened once with the drunk guy who let me pay for his lunch and the drinks he had before I got there after listening to his poor ex story - and phew was I very happy to do that and exit after an hour and a half of sympathetic noise making. I still wish him well, though.
But all in all, I prefer to hang out with friends.

And again. the above post is pretty much why I have given up trying to find a man of quality on this site, especially ones that feel that women should put out just because there are less men per capita locally than women.
