| What have your dates been like so far?

Doesnt put me off though. its all part of a varied social life and thats all I see it as these days. | |

I spoke to one girl for weeks before we didn't meet... she never turned up, then days later she found the power to reply to me, and told me her ex had beaten her up when he found out she was going on a date.
If she was telling the truth it's hardly her fault!! Did you stop talking after that? | |

Posted: 10/6/2009 12:15:01 PM | I haven't experienced any problems when meeting people from here. I only meet up with a woman after I've established some kind of rapport with her over the phone, so I'm confident that the meeting won't hold any nasty surprises.
True, not every one of those led to a second meet, but most of them did, and I can't recall not enjoying meeting up with anyone. | |

Really nice guys, entertaining conversation, interesting locations, little adventures. Some lasted only one date and we parted friends. A couple were more romantic and brought me happiness and made me realise there's still a lot of life to live. | |

My dating experiences have been some good, some bad.. had a lovely date on friday, really nice guy, great looking, paid for everything, opened doors.. a real sweetie but I came home just feeling that I am happy on my own and dont want a boyfriend.

Did meet a nice guy off here and we were together for nearly 6 months. Sadly it didn't last. I have finally learned to keep well away from separated men. No matter what the circumstances they have all ended up slamming the door in my face.
So I took some time out as I felt I'd lost the stomach for it. This internet dating can be wearing, constantly trying to make attachments with strangers and putting yourself up for rejection on a regular basis. You really need to have the right mindset to do it.
I'm dipping a tentative toe in the water, but so far nothing appealing has nibbled. Still, I'm quite happy as I am. Anything else would be a bonus. | |

Posted: 10/6/2009 3:09:17 PM | I met someone for a drink after work a few months ago, I wouldn't class it as a date, as we both only allocated an hour just to see if we "clicked".
He conducted himself as if he were interviewing me for a job! I should have just sent in my CV instead LOL..........within the first 5 mins he informed me that he wouldn't be "giving me an answer straight away" but that I could expect a text from him in a day or so once he had made is decision as to whether he wanted to take things further......ha ha ha ! yeah right........I got a text from him a few days later saying he'd decided we weren't compatible.......so I text him back saying.......oh god yeah I'd forgotten all about you.....sorry but I decided I didn't want the job there and then! | |

Posted: 10/6/2009 4:34:03 PM | | my first ever online date was with a girl that looked like a pretty little doll in her pic, although she did have "a few pounds over" marked on her profile and she had told me she wasn't a skinny size zero type. when we met though it was apparent that she was about 3-4stone overweight, despite being pretty, which was kind of a turn off as i was lead to believe the reality was a bit different i.e she was a little overweight, not obese....anyway i thought i may as well have a drink with her, i wasn't going to run off, anyway i ended up going back to hers for a night cap, so i went into her lounge and sat down while she went to open a bottle of wine, and while i waited i started to look at her photos on her mantlepiece....they showed pictures of her when she must of been six stone overweight at least! in the photos she looked like "giant haystacks" the wrestler, so i had a quick drink then left. i have learnt to be a bit more of a detective and not to judge a person by their photo... | |

Hmmm well I spose when I think about it the dates themselves were ok they just didnt go any further than a 1 off date and the people I met didnt reallly want a " proper" relationship.
The people have always turned out to be who they said they were and looked pretty much how I expected them to look so in that respect pretty lucky. Just wish they wanted more than a shag on the first date!
Shagging on just the first date is totally out of order, us respectable men do it on the second date aswell. | |

(dressed smartly) I now keep it smart casual (& let my date know this before the date) and meet people in my favourite coffee shop in The Trafford Centre. ( 4 so far) Most agree to my venue when I suggest it. I just allow an hour out of my day & fit it in around everything else. I usually end up on about 4 dates a month. I think it is a case of keep meeting people until you find the right one. | |

Posted: 10/7/2009 3:04:20 AM | Well there was the pretty boy who was so thick he wasnt sure if he was 37 or 38, the Welsh dwarf, the 48 year old punk who was stuck in a moment he couldnt get out of as Bono once said, the guy with teeth like the beaver out of Lady And The Tramp, the one who wanted to give me oral 2 hours after meeting me, the one who decided I was a tart because i had also replied to a message from his friend, the one who snorted coke all evening(without even sharing it!), the one who had changed his name to hide from loan sharks,the one who had a wife and the one who I am with now who is the best I have ever met ever and who has more baggage than Mariah Carey. So my dates have been interesting. But mostly fecking awful  | |

Posted: 10/7/2009 3:27:13 AM | | iv only had 3 dates from this site..the first woman i met asked me would i be interested in murdering her elderly husband for 10 thousand pounds..5 now and the other 5 when the job was done..so i made my excuses and left..the other woman turned up wearing an old yellow and very smelly wedding dress that she said she has been wearing since her fiance jilted her at the church 25 years ago..she said her house has remained untouched and she still has the wedding cake and unopened wedding gifts..etc so once again i made my excuses and left..the 3rd date simply didnt turn up..so i finished my drink..made my excuses to all the people in the pub who were laughing at me..and left..so im a bit mifted with all this internet dating lark now..i think ill stay single... | |
