Aww, the hug smileys! How sweet, thank-you,gladly accepted !

Domestic production :) what a good concept ! It worked in Detroit for quite some time. I'm from Detroit and to see it's complete downfall along with some of our other major cities is sad. What Detroit once was when my parents were young and raising our family to now, not good.

So you think I sound like a liberal Democrat huh? I don't know although I do have some strong opinions I am seating on the fence about some others but I do try to be respectful about other people's opinions... but only when they agree with me!! Ha!

Well I think I have my rant quota in for the day! lol Maybe we'll meet up for more later.

Obumbler or Piglosi

Hey golfcoast.... In my animated book, "A Fly's Tale" I actually have a bumble bee character, BeeRock Obumbler... He is a Colony Organizer... But Pelosi is "Antz Pelousy" speaker of the hill... (Ant Hill that is) and Reid is "Harry Red Termitus" Invader of the House. I have them making an announcement on "Buzz TV" the passing of their "Lifecare Reform" with a "Colony option" The story also deals with illegal aliens and crossing the border... with Pedro a Spanish Fly and same sex marriage with Phlip (Flip) a Fruit Fly.... that's all I should share in this forum... It's almost done... and these are small subject lines in the story. You keep saying Obumbler and it cracks me up.... Now the Piglosi... and I have to share.

Think of the Bee movie.... as far as the characters.... but I did funny likenesses of these guys. I even have "Keith Olderbug" who looks like Keith Olbermann. There is a "Mikey Morefarts" a Stink bug that looks like Michael Moore. What can I say... I'm having fun with it... plus there is a Sarah Palin, and other "right winged" bugs. But even though I am using the local events and issues... The story is about something else. This is just adding a little flavor.

OK... OK.... Back to Health care. Sorry

All of these nick-names are very appropriate, however, the sleaze-in-chief deserves the following name:

HOWDY DOODY

Somehow, it just fits. I give all permission for all to use the name Howdy Doody for the current president. It would work great in your "drama"............. Just give appropriate credit in the credits section.......... no monetary renumeration needed.

If you want to protest this Healthcare bill from passing then you need to take action now!
I heard Leiberman is a swingvote and will vote for it, let's notify his office and tell him NOT to !!

I found the following on asamom.com aka asamom.org

Take Action Tuesday ,Take on Congress: Capitol switchboard: 1-877-762-8762

The Senate Healthcare bill HR 3590 is being voted on by Dec. 18th (this week!). On this very day, thousands are marching on Washington to stop this government bulldozing of our healthcare choices.. http://lauraingraham.com/pg/jsp/charts/streamingAudioMaster.jsp?dispid=302&headerDest=L3BnL2pzcC9tZWRpYS9mbGFzaHdlbGNvbWUuanNwP3BpZD03ODcx

If you can’t make it to Washington, call/fax/email your Senator and Senators in key areas whose contact info has been provided in following link: (Thank you to Captain Happy Pants for posting the contact info of key Senators) http://asamom.ning.com/forum/topics/stop-the-health-care-bill-hr

This list of fence sitters from Theconservativemama http://asamom.ning.com/profiles/blogs/universal-health-care-fence

HeyJenny

Your starting to sound like one of those tea party mobsters. A conspiracy theorist who disagrees with everything and is only a promoter of NO.

Good for you!

Seriously though, some great info... and we do need to do something about this. Healthcare is like most of the other policies that have been forced down our throats by this administration and those representing us in Washington. The battle isn't just with this Healthcare reform... oh yeah, this is a big one... But we need to take back Washington, we need to remind them, they work for us. That we are tired of the behind closed door, corrupt politics.

Healthcare reform is necessary... But not Healthcare take over, using it to gain more government control over the people. Lets have a real debate, a bipartisan reform debate, lets bring tort reform into the conversation, and buying over state lines... and really try and lower costs.

I do say "NO" alot !!

I called the capitol and got through!! I called to protest Healthcare Reform, the next big day for that and the Global Climate Treaty in Copenhagen where the President will be Decmber 18th. I did get in a sentence or two before I got disconnected :) I say flood them with phonecalls! Don't forget to do it today since it's Take Action Tuesday. With a few clicks you can also protest from your computer, can it get any easier?

The drug-importation bill was proposed by Sen. Byron Dorgan, a North Dakota Democrat who allied with some Republicans. Mr. Dorgan and Sen. John McCain (R., Ariz.) said the measure could save consumers some $80 billion over 10 years if they could buy their drugs from other countries directly via the Internet or mail order.

We couldn't possibly have a good thing like this drug import bill pass. This got killed Tuesday in the senate, unbelieveable! This bill needs another look/revision, it's too good to give up entirely. Why on Earth did any of the Senate vote against this?

The pharmacueticals win while the U.S. citizens lose, what else is new! The costs of medicine in the U.S. is sky high yet the prices on the same drugs elsewhere is substantially lower.

Seems as though the Senate passed health care with a filibuster proof majority. Now we'll see if twenty two pages of you guys whining that the end of the country is coming is actually true. It hasn't crumbled yet, contrary to all your hopes that it would just to spite Obama. You guys are like the "demoted manager" who hopes for failure just to satisfy some selfish sence of redemption.

We are so far from socialism that it is rediculous to insinuate that we are, or ever will be, a socialist country. I actually find delight in laughing at some of you around here acting like the sky is falling for the last eleven months. Hmmm, seems as though things are changing. You guys can quit saying there has been no change now.

I was referring to the folks in the Califorum of course.

The majority of America wanted health care reform and they got what they wanted.
Got to love the power of democracy. When the Republicans weren't doing the job America voted them out and brought a better team to suit their needs. Republicans would never have touched health care. They would just try to convince us that the fundamentals of the health care system are sound.

Thanks for supporting the opening of this pandora's box Skoo, good job Skooby!

You're welcome. You can thank the majority of America too for wanting health care reform. Sorry your opinion wasn't the most common.

Hope you have your bomb shelter stocked up Rock. It's time to get in there. The end of the country is coming any day now. Didn't you say you would leave the country if this bill passes? Don't let the door hit you on the way out drama queen.

What does the plan provide? Does anyone know? The 'real' bill is the manager's bill even the people who say they are voting for it haven't seen it. All I know is we bgin paying for this bill in 2010 and get whatever the bill promises in 2013. Only a retard liberal would imagine that is a prudent plan. of course in the next 3 years we'll be talking about this plan as we pay but not receive anything.

Fortunately dems will be swept from office in 2010 and this plan will be killed by the adults. No free lunch for skoochie and his band of luddites lol.

Yo Rocky, babe........

I've read everything you've ever written on these forums, and I never once read that you were going to leave if you don't get your way.

By the way, are you going to believe what the democrats tell you about the "health care bill", or what you can read about it yourself? Why would you believe what is written, when what they tell you is different?

Naw, no "end of life panels"................
OF COURSE you can pick whatever doctor you want...........
No, there is NO provision that forces people to buy health insurance...... and if they don't, there are provisions for jail terms...............

Shall I go on?

So you see, Rocky dear, all you have to do is suspend reality, and YOU TOO can be a good democrat who thinks that we haven't lurched left, and that this health care bill is a good thing.

Hey schoochie, babe, if there hasn't been a violent lurch to the far left in this country in the past 100 years, then the only conclusion that can be reached is that this country was originally established as a socialist experiment, not as an experiment in FREEDOM. What other conclusion can one come to? Because we are most definitely sliding downhill to socialism and beyond. Now, you may like that because you agree with it, but please don't be so naive to say otherwise, as that just makes you look silly.

Try this: BE A MAN, and stand up and say, YES, I think socialism is GREAT, and if we slide into communism, that would be even better. But don't try to tell us that we haven't slid that direction percipitously.

Paul you have a habit of putting words in my mouth. You don't know me well enough to do that. You know what I write, not me. I said this is not a socialist country and never will be, and suddenly I'm a socialist. You're sounding like you have a problem with reading comprehension or maybe you need this translated to your native tongue. There are many countries who have this type of health care system. You would be a moron to call them a socialist country. "Soicialist" is merely the favorite word in the kool-aide you are drinking. The fear monger kool-aide. Remeber being scared of czars? Glad that big spooky monster isn't being brought up anymore.

Sorry your opinion wasn't the most common.

All the polls I've seen show that about 55-60% of voters oppose this bill. And that's a sign it could be repealed after the elections next year. One thing it proves is how poorly informed younger voters in the U.S. are these days. They will bear more of its costs than any other group, because they tend to use less medical care than the average. But they'll pay through the nose for others to use those services.

If this thing survives, it's pretty clear it will ruin the U.S. economy, where debt is already out of control. From what I know about Obama's views and tactics, which he gets mostly from Saul Alinsky and other Communist theorists like Cloward and Piven, that's just what he hopes to do. He's *trying* to destroy the U.S. as it's always been--a free, capitalist society.

stand up and say, YES, I think socialism is GREAT, and if we slide into communism, that would be even better

That's exactly what Mr. Obama thinks, but can't say. Alinsky (whose methods he used to teach to "community organizers") said radicals, to be most effective, should disguise themselves as conventional and moderate. That way, they can tunnel into the system and dismantle it from the inside out, without provoking a backlash that would put an end to their efforts. As long as Obama is careful not to do anything that alarms most people, he can keep changing this country into something completely at odds with our founding documents.

Rock,

Try going to dictionary.com when you simply want to define something.

<div class='quote'>Socialism-a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
Now, you tell me when this will ever happen in America. It won't. So, you can stop with the whole socialism thing, because it's rediculous to think we will ever be a socialist country.

Match,
If this has always been free capitalist society, then why do we have anti-trust laws? Also, the majority of Americans do want health care reform. They just don't like this bill, because it's being sold as something evil.

If this has always been free capitalist society, then why do we have anti-trust laws

You're mincing words. Anti-trust law was one of the progressives' achievements, but it was designed to keep capitalism competitive--not to undo it. And it didn't. Private industry in the U.S. has been reasonably competitive and free, although safety and environmental regulation have made it less free. But it's very clearly a sea change to some other type of economy when the federal government assumes ownership of the automotive industry, the financial industry, and now the health services industry. If you don't think central government control of a substantial part of our national economy is socialism, I wonder what you think socialism is.

I don't know what it means to say most Americans want health care in the abstract, but not this bill. There is only this bill. It's what they're getting, and the majority of them don't like it. There's no reason to believe criticism of this bill blinded them to its virtues. People have made their own decisions about it, and most have turned thumbs down. That's why I think there's a good chance that whatever Congress enacts will be repealed in a year or so.

Hey schoochie

You posted as a definition of socialism the following:

''div class='quote'>Socialism-a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.''

Lets see now, how much FEDERAL money was used to BUY the two car companies stupid enough to be bought? Proof that they were bought....... Howdy Doody picks up the phone in the oval office, and poof, the CEO of GM is gone............

What is important here is CONTROL. Who gives a rats patootee who is in title, if you can't control it, it is in reality, NOT YOURS.

The anti-trust laws then, according to you, were used to break up companies that were owned and controlled by the federal government? News to me. No, the anti-trust laws were used to breakup companies that were precieved to have grown too big and too powerful under the free market that allowed them to prosper.

When you take time to read the provisions of the bill, you will see that the bill is EVIL..........

Paul,
I was talking to Match about his post. He knows why I asked the question about anti-trust laws. Did you notice there is more governmental control than just production and distribution under a socialist government?

<div class='quote'>Any TRUE democrat could see that, because as it stands, the homeless, underage kids living on their own (under the radar to avoid abuse) and the mentally ill must now get their paperwork together in order to avoid felony tax evasion.
Drama queen, you do realize those folks you mention don't pay taxes, so they don't have to worry about tax evasion. Any TRUE thinker can see that.

I guess I owe you an apology for jumping where I was not asked to.............

A question for you....... Did you notice that WE in the USA are under a LOT more governmentl control than just production and distribution?

Just because you may like the government controls that are pervasive doesn't meant that they aren't there, or that they are the right thing to do.

Yeah, maybe the homeless won't get "dumped off" anymore because they don't have insurance. The current system is messed up like that. But, you don't see what you don't want to.
