Why state the obvious? I wouldn't want to insult the intelligence of the readers here as some do.

Why saying "here is a joke that I just got from a friend of mine" or "this joke has been around for a few years, and it makes a lot of sense now," would be seen as intending "to insult the intelligence of the readers here"? Why telling the truth would be an insult to the readers? I don't understand that kind of thinking.

I like a good and creative story, and I would have given you credit if that was original.

The ones that "are going to have to get over it themselves" are those who can't stop hating our president for having been honored with the Nobel Peace Prize award. There will be a ceremony that will be shown world-wide, and our president will walk up to the podium with the dignity of a man of peace to receive the award, and then he will seize the opportunity to deliver his acceptance speech to send a message of peace to the world. The sitting president of the United States addressing the world from that podium isn't any ordinary ocurrence, is truly a once in a lifetime event.
So, pass around all the jokes that you want, and impress the lightweights all you want, but in the end the joke is on you, reduced to cut and paste old stuff without having the guts to say "this is old stuff."

Will this before or after he sends an additional 40,000 troops off to fight a war?

Evidently so does the Norwegian Nobel Committee.
Evidently you don't wish to deal with facts only opinion ,obviously you didn't read as to why the committee voted for him,it was for accomplishments not stories as if your the smug smart American and the Norwegian is just an easy to con with a simple story, please deal with the facts,I am amazed that America is not thrilled to death that America will take this prize and stand tall in front of the world,I am amazed at no support for America, you all are so blinded with dislike for Obama you'll spit on our country in the process
Will this before or after he sends an additional 40,000 troops off to fight a war?
Oh sounds like you know a decision has been made, enlighten us, lets see, do you hate him because he is or isn't sending troops, the haters are split in the middle on that hate topic.

I did ! its like one of those true jokes thats funny, in a sick way,Bush had such high disregard for constitutions and rights and laws,I could see him spitting,so I thought it was humorous !

Just sayin !

also, I sympathize that your worn from Bush ,so am I,he cannot be forgot, because it will take years to unearth ourselves from him and a total of 20 years of damage done by the Republicans majority.

I think Obama should get a reward other than a Nobel for taking on this mess ! Can't you see Palin handling this mess.Don't think she'd of got a Nobel, don't feel optimistic that McCain would have achieved one either !

...other people's understandable reaction...

Other people's understandable reaction...?

There is nothing understandable about some of the reactions beyond...

1) They hate Obama and NOTHING will elicit anything other than uninformed rhetoric.

2) They have NO clue about the historical intent and criteria underlying the award.

It is not understandable that some are that willing to be SO vocal about thier own ignorance of reality.

It is not understandable that some are so invested in thier hate that they fail to recognize the unbridgable chasm between thier "feelings" and thier knowledge.

obviously you didn't read as to why the committee voted for him,it was for accomplishments "
"accomplishments"- you and the committee really have stretched the definition of this word to the max..".created a new climate, environment, a vision, extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples, given its people hope ,attached special importance to Obama’s vision...."

When did a vision become an accomplishment?

"1) They hate Obama and NOTHING will elicit anything other than uninformed rhetoric."
They Love Obama and everything will elicit support for anything that Obama says, does, thinks, envisions etc....

"2) They have NO clue about the historical intent and criteria underlying the award."

Actually we have checked the historical intent and criteria underlying the award and we have come to realize that over the past thirty years or so the Committee has moved away from the Original intent and began utilizing the award to make political statements.

It is not understandable that some are so invested in their Fanatical Love for Obama that they fail to recognize the unbridgeable chasm between their "feelings" and their knowledge.

"I just thought that those that didn't see how great he was from day one
My god he just staved off a depression
Why is it we that saw Obama as a brilliant Savior
because he is the only one that thought of helping earth
Obama deserved a peace prize for his visionary world views and world goals
Obama gets the Nobel Peace prize for being an outstanding person and visionary
Its proof of what a brilliant person he is
is other mens envy around the world of what to aspire to,,
to hopefully be as accomplished as Obama,
as visionary as Obama
he is the type of person we should hope our children aspire to be
so lets just say he had been spreading the words and spreading the hope and he was being a visionary of world change"

It has now been shown in writing several times the actually accomplishments the committee said Obama did.You are so hell bent on ignoring that, and so in need of proving your logic and opinions, proves our facts are wrong, and you are willing to repeatedly do so ,goodness, quit while your really behind.

I was going to show their actual words for you like the forth time but to those that follow the facts presented it would merely be insane, besides I promised everyone here last time that would be the last time I submit the exact words of the accomplishments he made thus far as far as the committee is concerned ,its obvious this is about hate and not facts, you have proven without a shadow of doubt that this does not have anything to do with the topics on all the Obama threads your on,you ignore facts on each one the same way, your one of the few that repeatedly asks for everything to be repeatedly resubmitted as if we might make a slip up,one could conclude that your predictable at this point.

When did a vision become an accomplishment?

Immediately after taking office.

President Obama assembled a team of experienced diplomats and sent them to spread the word that the USA would once again prefer to resolve conflicts by diplomatic means, rather than invading other countries illegally. President Obama extended an open hand to old adversaries of our country and offered them an opportunity to sit down and talk to resolve differences.

To change the US policy so radically in such a brief period of time was an extraordinary achievement; and for that, president Obama was recognized by the Nobel Peace Prize Committee.

All Americans should feel proud of their president and their country when given such a high honor .

Do you and etourdi ever think of taking a day off, isn't constant hate tiring, I never see two people go to so many threads attempting to spread hate as you two do. Do you two work for Cheney or possibly the republicans, hope your getting compensated some how,I know I sure would want to make a lot if I was going to purposely make myself look so petty.

I, for one, would love to see some examples of Obama's 'misstatements' that have not already been debunked.
Care to divulge?

Now you know some people "don't do facts"... they consider them over-rated... and you don't have to prove feelings and innuendo...

...Why "do facts" when feelings and innuendo are so much more personal?

These are just a few of the misstatements/lies Obama made during his campaign and in his book. There are many many more . Some I paraphased to take out the word "Liar.
Following these few are a few web sites that show numerous discrepencies in things Obama has said. Some I will admit that I have my doubts about, but around 50% are right on. Even just a few is one too many, but before Obama started campaigning he had already racked up quite a few in his two books.

(Selma Got Me Born - Obama was born in 1961 Selma had no effect on your birth, as Selma was in 1965. Source: hotair.com
Father Was A Goat Herder - Obama's father a privileged, well educated youth, who went on to work with the Kenyan Government. Source: http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message504435/pg1
No One Contacted Canada About NAFTA -
the Candian Government issued the names and a memo of the conversation your campaign had with them
Wal-Mart Is A Company I Wouldn’t Support - Obama's wife has received nearly a quater of a million dollars through Treehouse, which is connected to Wal-Mart.
I Barely Know Rezko - Only 5 Billed Hours - OBama has known him for 17 years, and decided to do a real estate deal with him during a time when he was proven to be under investigation. Despite this, you divided your property and had them take off $300K before the mortgage problems started. Then Rezko’s wife buys the lot beside it that you can’t afford, saving you $625,000.
I never heard sermons like Rev. Wright’s, that have been in videos all day, You Tube - 3 days later during your Mea Culpa BS speech you said “Did I hear controversial statements while I sat in that church? Yes I did.”
Rev. Meeks has nothing to do with my campaigning - Rev. Meeks appeared in ads for your Senate Campaign, donated to you, and helped raise money, then AND NOW. PS - He also seems to despise America.

I noticed you only gave one link to the 'mistatements' you listed, and that link was to a forum with subjects such as the flu vaccines being designed to kill people. Afraid to show us your sources?

Anyways, here's something containing information on some of your 'mistatements' and a number of others:

You people are getting seriously off-topic with all this ‘misstatements’ talk. Please let’s get back on topic, which is Butch the Rooster winning the No Bell Piece Prize.

And didn’t Obama himself say he wasn’t ‘deserving’ of the award? According to some arguments made in this thread, that would qualify as a ‘misstatement’ wouldn’t it?

Okay, let's go with this. For the sake of argument, Obama didn't deserve the award, and yet he got it anyway. What do you expect him to do about it?
