Obama supporters always try to cast aspersions at Obama critics based on the Premise that the only reason for their criticism is that they are Republicans and they dislike Obama.If a man who wasn't Obama received the Nobel Prize for DOING or ACCOMPLISHING NOTHING wouldn't a Normal Person question or wonder why he won? Remember when Al Gore won? Weren't you wondering what he had done to Win the Nobel Peace Prize? Then they gave an explanation about all the work he had done to increase awareness of "Global Warming" and as a normal rational person didn't you still think it was a little Odd that he Got the Peace Prize? Certainly, the prize is a (barely) implicit condemnation of Mr. Bush’s presidency. But countering the ill will Mr. Bush created around the world is one of Mr. Obama’s great achievements in less than nine months in office. Mr. Obama’s willingness to respect and work with other nations is another.
Mr. Obama has bolstered this country’s global standing by renouncing torture, this time with credibility; by pledging to close the prison camp at Guantánamo Bay, Cuba; by rejoining the effort to combat climate change and to rid the world of nuclear weapons; by recommitting himself to ending the Israeli-Palestinian conflict; and by offering to engage Iran while also insisting that it abandon its nuclear ambitions.
They end this editorial with this line that maybe even the right will understand.
Americans elected Mr. Obama because they wanted him to restore American values and leadership — and because they believed he could. The Nobel Prize, and the broad endorsement that followed, shows how many people around the world want the same thing. | |

I will paste it below so that they will regurgitate their ideas before posting their visceral droppings on this field for us to avoid stepping on. There is so much of it already that it is difficult to wade through.

Obama has 7 years 2 months left,its a shame we don't allow 3rd terms or I would have said 11 years 2 months left.
Unless the mid term change over in 2010 screws up like they did with Clinton, Obama will be another one term president. At least Clinton was better than Obama.
Heck its getting to where many are sorry for all the things they said about Bush since Obama is doing so many of the same things just bigger.
Its interesting how so many of the Obama supporters are now counting the days until the 2012 election so they can vote him out.
Many are even saying this Nobel Prize did not help him at all especially in regards to the wars.
Obama did finish off the week with 52.3% in polls at RCP, so it seems that he is stuck in the 51 to 52.5% category for a while.. | |

Just because you think you are in the majority it doesn't make your opinions any more valid.He may have 7 years left, who knows a lot of Americans voted for him, who knows how they will feel about him in 3 years we shall see..........I am willing to bet that when his policies are implemented many people will no longer be enamored. Hyper inflation is not a good thing, unemployment is not good, we shall see....I hope my children aspire to be well adjusted free thinking individuals who lack the arrogance narcissism and bitterness that Obama possesses.

You haven't read the citation, or, if you read it, then you didn't understand it.
You are confusing the cart and the horse, and your slurred vision doesn't allow you to see who is the driver.
The awarding committee gave its reasons. No matter how much you try to find reasons to attack president Obama in this case, you aren't paying attention to the facts, just like all the other Obama haters. Deal with the text of the citation, and then tell us why it is wrong for the committee to have awarded the Nobel Peace Prize to Barack Obama.
Obama has as president created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations.
If you read it carefully you will see that the main reason for the award is that president Obama returned the US to a policy of favoring diplomacy rather than confrontation and over-powering other countries. That is something that president Obama DID. He also sent his envoys to different parts of the world to make other countries aware that there was a significant change in the way that America would conduct business from now on. That is another thing that he DID. Those actions made a big difference in the eyes of the world, and the awarding committee realized that, and they were cited during the award announcement.
And if you are failing to understand this, I will call your attention to the verb forms in the first two sentences: "Obama has as president C R E A T E D a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has R E G A I N E D a central position....." So, those things were DONE by the president trying to further the interests of our country, and they have had a huge impact throughout the world. This is not something that the Nobel Peace Prize is telling president Obama to do. It is something that he has already done, and it has been recognized by the world.
