I would'nt sweet it if you don't meet someone through a dating site.

True. A simple 'hi' from a woman can sometimes be entirely misinterpreted by some men and being friendly can often be assumed to be more, subsequently leading to a messy situation, or even a dangerous one. Would take too many words to give examples, but it happens, and it's a lesson you learn young. Plus, walking down the street at night alone...you can never totally relax. Hell, even in your car...last Sat night when I was on my way out I was stopped at a red lights...sending a text so sort of looking from phone to lights to phone to lights...and I half registered this young guy on the footpath moving towards my car, but you know, pedestrians are everywhere in town. Anyway I happened to glance to the side just in time to see him reaching for the passenger door handle. Thankfully my hand found the auto door lock button quickly and I heard the reassuring clunk of the locks milliseconds before hearing the sound of him trying the door handle. I felt prickles of fear shoot through me...he might have been about to jump in, pull a knife, make me drive him to a dark place and rape and kill me. Or he might have wanted to ask for directions. How can we tell the difference until it unfolds? And sometimes it's simply a matter of...why take the risk for the sake of not seeming rude to a total stranger? Light went green and I didn't hang around to care if I ran over his foot or not. zoom zoom

Actually I think there is a lot more of it going on than what the forum might convey. Those who are going out on dates, with normal people who show up, and don't do weird sh1t, are just ...not posting about it on the forum. People generally come on the forum and talk about all the freaky stuff, and the stuff that goes wrong. Quite frankly it makes a better read ...but I wouldn't start seeing it as any kind of barometer.

^^^^ I agree Naamah, there is alot of dating going on it just doesn't get talked about much on the forums- although OP just told us a little too much information
I also agree (I think it was Kyn's point) that you should talk quite a bit to your potential date prior to meeting them in person. That way if there is a connection you'll be more worried they ARE going to show up and you may fark it up...Oh the anticipation!  | |
