LMAO ... 28-year old poster who is probably too young to remember the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld ... very funny guy who would deny a person soup ... for no good reason. Just as this JP apparently feels he can deny people a mixed marriage ... for no good reason.


Actually I do remember the soup Nazi on Seinfield. The difference between Seinfield and this is that Senfield is a comedy show designed to make you laugh, this scenareo being discussed is real life. I hope when I reach your grand old age I don't fall into the trap of believing that a Sit-Com is reality. Put the remote down and get a clue lady.

Nice Attempt OP, trying to save yourself from being another person incapable of making a logical point, so instead they use the "He/She is a Nazi" tactic. Seinfield wasn't even close to your mind until you read the above lady's post and saw an opening.

It is true that the Judge has 1st Amendment rights, but he is an elected offical who is supposed to serve all in the community equally. A preacher man is different. I still stick with the opinion of firing the guy.

things like this only happen in islamic states and the USA, interesting fact is both have an abundance of violence, think sex is dirty,and do not have universal health care


You are right. Your country and others with that universal health care thing just silences people who think differently, but have done no wrong besides speak. So much more civilized and tolorant then the Middle East or the US.

I'm not saying I agree with this particular JP at all and I think it's unfortunate, but a JP, Pastor, or a Priest can and do decline based on age differences of the petitioners, backgrounds of the petitioners, his/her personal beliefs, and even impressions of the parties requesting. None are required to grant anyone a wedding.


as I understand it the JP is an elected official. as such I believe it is illegal for him to refuse service based on race. period.

please note that Louisiana's Judicial Code of Ethics requires officials like Bardwell to "perform judicial duties without bias or prejudice."

thats REQUIRES. no maybe about it.

He may be misguided but just as with pastors that feel a responsibility to only enter couples into holy unions, a JP also is afforded a responsibility to make judgments that it is going to be a valid union. Much like they could refuse to marry a couple that is obviously entering into a marriage of convenience such as for immigration purposes.
You are completely incorrect here. Government is different than the church. Additionally, you're suggesting that there MIGHT be something "invalid" about this union. You are incorrect about this and about any responsibility you believe he is "afforded."

It's really important to know what you don't know.
It does not appear that you even realize that you're so far past left field that you're in the neighbor's yard.
