| How old is too old? (pictures) Posted: 10/20/2009 5:51:51 AM | | There are people that put pictures on that dates back to 2004 and they do not look that good back then so it is kinda scarey to think what they look like now!!!!! | |

| How old is too old? (pictures) Posted: 10/20/2009 9:55:53 AM | Personally OP I think you look better in your more recent shots than you do in the 2007 one.
But I guess bad previous experiences will colour opinion. I have only had one guy look very different (and not for the better) to his very old (think 10+ years old!) picture.
Everyone else I have met looked like they did in their pictures, which had been taken anything from within the last 6 mths to 6 years ago.
I believe that what's important is whether or not the picture is a true representation of what you look like now. I don't care how old someone's picture is as long as that is the case.
Problem is most assume that if you picture is not recent that you will not only look nothing like that, but will have changed for the worse. And I guess if that has been their experience, that's fair enough.
My picture is Dec 06. I am actually 13kgs lighter and far more toned now, so the 'up close and personal' version is much improved. However, it is still a true representation of me. And no one who has met me in person has had any complaints; quite the contrary actually. And no one has ever asked for a more recent pic prior to meeting. But then I tend to date men who like me, see physical attributes as much more an integrated element of sexual/emotional attraction.

| How old is too old? (pictures) Posted: 10/22/2009 5:28:23 PM | If you look similar to how you did when the halloween picture was taken, it's certainly not misleading. Pictures from 2 years ago should be perfectly acceptable if they depict how you still look.
Some people seem to insist that pics need to be constantly update. But I just think they're being overly picky, and just looking for something to complain about on other people's profiles. I can understand that a person needs to have photos that would depict how they now look. A fat balding 45 year old shouldn't use a picture of himself in high school, when he had a full head of hair, and was 100pounds lighter, as his main picture, since it doesn't depict how he looks now. But I really don't know why some people stubbornly insist that everyone's pictures must be within the last 6 months, or so. The vast majority of people in their 30s or 40s aren't drasticly changing in appearance during 6 months. For most of us, a picture taken 2 or 3 years ago likely still depicts how we look now, and doesn't need to be replaced every few months

I don't take many pictures of myself, and I can change weight within one month. I suppose I could put up new pics every month, but that's too much work for me to get around to doing... I've been working out so I look better in general, but I'm not so radically different that I believe anyone should care. Every 6 months sounds like a good measure to me.
