when did "and a bit of fun" suddenly need clarification that it didnt mean "have sex". Maybe I'm being niave but unless it was written followed by "nudge nudge wink wink", I'd imagine the OP ment "and a bit of fun", like fun, remember???? If you read the OP question he was incredulous that this was taken up badly by the guys girlfriend, if he ment some sort or sleazy fun, why would he be suprised. Floatsom, fun sometimes is just what it says on the tin. And regardles of wether he asked or just found himself dancing beside a girl if his intention was to have a laugh than whats the problem. I know if a guy asks me to dance and I accept I dont believe I have silently agreed to have sex, and dont assume he is expecting it, I take it for what it is a bit of craic.

Floatsum I think you have lost they plot here, there was absolutely no sexual intent what so ever , just harmless dancing and a bit of fun, I'm beginning to think , judging by some peoples reaction's, it says more about their insecurities than any thing else.

Well Floatsum, OP did answer you on 10/20/2009, and again people make presumptions here, and a bit of fun means in this context of one person enjoying themselves.

Thems fighting words, no wait a minute.......emmm no pictures on either profile - what are you two afraid of? Someone might recognise you on a dating site People that dont have enough courage to post pictures are what? What kind of person lacks courage? emm let me think.......
Firstly gemberi the OP did NOT clarify what he defines as a bit of fun as you claim and you are making presumption by claiming the OP means
in this context of one person enjoying themselves.
unless that is you can read the OP's mind. The OP did not clarify because the OP said in response to my question
just harmless dancing and a bit of fun
which is nothing more than repeating his original statement. Repeating a statement that ask for clarity is NOT clarifying the statement. I asked what he meant by a bit of fun and he replied a bit of fun. That clears up nothing.
Secondly goldiecat
Maybe I'm being niave
(niave is actually spelt naive!)
I'd imagine the OP ment "and a bit of fun", like fun, remember
(ment?? or should it be meant?) what you imagine and what the OP is thinking are very unlikely to be the same thing. Let me give you an example. I said kiss not sex. You imagined I meant sex but I didnt so its fair to say your not very good at imagining what others are thinking would you not agree?
Lastly gemberi the fact that Im replying to posts that have taken what I said completely out of context certainly confirms your suspicion that Ive lost the plot. Well done, you've got my number

thanks gemberie, it seems a lot of posters to this thread are very posessive, maybe signs on it thats why they are single, if they can thandle a parner dancing harmlessly, how will they deal with all the other challenges a relationship throws up. And i for one would feel very stifled if I thought I wasnt trusted to have a boogie with someone without it leading to sex!!

Ok first
"there was absolutely no sexual intent what so ever , just harmless dancing and a bit of fun" OP posted this in response to your seeking clarification, NO SEXUAL INTENT. Thats clear enough for me, how do you want fun explained? Heres a cut and paste from thesaurus: good, happy
Synonyms: amusing, boisterous, convivial, diverting, enjoyable, entertaining, lively, merry, pleasant, witty

Secondly, picking me up on typos is a weak argument and sign of loosing the argument. Come up with something better.

As for photo, my business. 80% of messges i get are from guys without one so its the norm here, and with one click of my mouse I reveal my beauty to whoever I so choose to!

grudy is that you?
I said KISS and thats hardly sex is it? Who has sex on their mind? Kissing was what I thought the OP meant and Id call that just a bit of fun but it appears you think of just a bit of fun as sex, emmmmm

oh I missed a point, you said I turned it into sex, I will quote your original response:
"There's no harm in it if your in a swinger type relationship. Is it ok to kiss another woman if your in a relationship and your girlfriend is sat at home? If he was caught getting oral would he say 'but we didnt have sex!'

You turned the original comment "a bit of fun" into something sleazy and sexy. It was in response to your interpretation that I mentioned sex.

People that dont have enough courage to post pictures are what? What kind of person lacks courage? emm let me think.......

Fools rush in where angels fear to tread...what does it say about a person when they have a picture of them in profile with a dirty great big phallus shaped pipe which could be a horn or could be an extension of a hookah sticking out of their mouth?

Aside from your picture contravening the rules because your face is obliterated and you cannot be clearly identified, I can conjure up all sorts of connotations regarding the symbolism you dare to expose with it.

Having fun, being fun, enjoying a fun time are activities which make you happy, if you are so jaded that the only fun you can imagine enjoying is the kind of fun which involves having sex with complete strangers then you might have a problem.

To goldiecat, gemberi and irisbrennan: all three of you are relativity new members, I not so new. Every so often some flame baiter's arrive in the forums and try to incite flame wars. Im NOT taking the bait. Fight amongst yourselves ladies but please leave me out of it. My opinion on this matter is simple:
To me kissing is just a bit of fun
Kissing is not sex but if Im dating a woman then I feel kissing another woman is a huge betrayal it is not acceptable to me
I really dont care if any of the three or you dislike that opinion so flame away because as of this moment I am going to ignore every post in every thread from the three of you.

Flame wars? So basicaly if a woman disagrees with you she is starting a flame war, really starting to see why you are single.
And thanks for your vetran advise, but I'm not new to forums, and I've been on this one for 4 months. so no need for the guidance grandpa. And its hilarious that by saying you are going to ignore our posts you think that is going to have some impact on me, and maybe upset me, kinda weird but hilarious non the less.

Again you brought the OP's post back to kissing. would you accept he ment a bit of fun, ie dancing and laughing and stop sexualising an innocent encounter. Its sleazy.

I agree you can dance with a member of the opposite sex without feeling the urge to kiss them to spice up your little tandem.

If some man lunged at me for a kiss after or during a fast dance, I know quite well I would react by kneeing him in the groin area and it would serve him right.

So the OP's friend's girlfriend is wrong to doubt him, or to even presume that other women would actually want anything other than a bit of fun dancing with him unless he is very very attractive.

Some will and some won't

as recent as two weeks ago

A lady I've been dating and I, ~ met a another lady that was alone but with "friends"

My date asked me , ~ told me to dance with her. ~ So I did! She was a tall , full bodied woman, met me eye to eye. I enjoyed it, she was most pleasant to hold and dance with.

But I don't think this will happen if your friend doesn't like them or if I'd just up and danced with her. There were other women there she would have taken exception too. Like some of the more racy ones, tight short dresses, with that man killer look about them.

I might have had a fight on my hands.

Dance
