I don't know, I mean one of my buddies just flooded the gals in his area with emails until he started getting responses. He was kind of a spammer I suppose, but he just kept sending stuff out each week until he got some replies. I would comment them on thier profile , tell them good luck on thier search , give some positive comment, and wish them the best. I don't expect anyone and everyone to like what they see, or want to meet or just chat. But it is nice to get a small response even if it is to say THANK YOU .. I know I have done the same in the past, but I have seen how this affects me and others and I have decided to try to do better with responding. Come on people, be a little more humane and kinder, we are all in the same pond, though I think there is alot of Barracudas in a minnow disquise. | |

I had the same problem - I would also get emails with just ---->  How does one respond to that? I usually would just delete them but it didn't feel right.
Anyway, I changed me mail setting so that a message has to be at least 50 characters, so it will have to be at least one sentence. I just did this so I have no idea how this is going to work in he long run. | |

And I know how annoying it can be when someone emails you several times and you never respond once, it is irritating. Posted: 7/11/2008 5:36:05 PM | I try to make it a point to message once... if it's not returned, that's it & let it go. Remember that women here get a lot more mail than men (according to women I've talked to that have become friends - didn't just pull it out of my a$$).
You may get a reply much later than expected, but the way I see it if someone is interested they won't take forever to get back to you. These topics have probably been beaten to death, but I think we all have different experiences/views. | |

It depends on how you write to those you message. If you send a basic "hi" or something simple and there is no response, try a more substantive second try. If that does not work, either try one more time (you know: three strikes and they are out) or quit after two attempts. It is possible that particularly in the case of a man messaging a woman that she gets a lot more messages in a day than the man does and probably a lot of them read similarly.
I have only not gotten a response at times when I have messaged them and added them as a fav only to discover that they had not been online for a while. (That happened twice.) But other than that, getting a response has never been hard but I send a note where it is evident I put a bit of thought into it. | |

Why should you compromise integrity when they move on after viewing you to see if they can find better. It's all heart break...They may say they get hundreds of emails a day, but if they took the time to view you, They can take 40 seconds to type a reply. | |

i always try and reply to all my mail out of courtesy because people took the time to say hello to me... only if its rude or inappropriate i will tell them and never talk to them again
but i have sent my pic to someone and never heard from them again ha!!!! it didnt bother me all that much! we all have different tastes thats my reason he didnt reply and im sticking to it  | |
