| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/6/2009 8:17:18 PM | ^^^^Are they going after Republicans ... you know ... the "enemies of America" ...
78outdoorsguy ... Try tuning in on Sunday during Meet The Press ... it's on MSNBC at least 2 times but if you watch ... you might go blind. The only time those shows you mention are on is on the weekends in the afternoon and evening.
I don't know anything about (cluster) Faux Noise ... so I don't know if they have that rightwingnut crap blasting 24/7 or not, but if they do ... I can certainly see how it contributes to the "dumbing down of our nation" ...

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/6/2009 8:46:58 PM | All the news media outlets are guilty of "cherry picking" issue's here and there in order to appeal to their main viewer base.
Kinda like when MSNBC aired a story of Angry White Health Care protesters showing up with "Assault Weapons" strapped to their backs. (Video Below) They(MSNBC) said "Here we have a man of color in the Presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYKQJ4-N7LI
But when you look at the whole picture you see that the man that they (MSNBC) showed with the AR15 was actually a African American Man.(Video Below)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfGF-wI6KUw&feature=related
Or this story in which NBC was busted in fabricating a story in 1992(below) The "Full" footage of that health care protester (with the AR15) is also shown on the video below but from CNN(Below)

In the end all the News Media outlets are guilty of misleading their viewers from time to time. And that's a shame.

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/7/2009 7:34:10 AM | It was a good bit of entertainment on the Part of CNN....Everyone probably got a good laugh out of it. Bush was the blunt of many jokes last year, especially towards the year. He sure was and as much as I miss them, deep down I am glad they are gone.
That is where I believe the the Liberals fail.
The Republicans knew how to control the media, they ran a much tighter ship.
The whole you are either with us or against s was a very well executed strategy.
IMO For the Liberals to win the media war they need to assign Jon Stewart as the new press secretary.

Bush was the blunt of many jokes
The 'blunt'? Many definitions for the word 'blunt', however, none of them fit in that sentence.
As the 'brunt' of a joke, Bush II was an infallible source of entertainment.
Back on point: It's been shown over and over that ClusterFox is not a valid news source--this thread has run its course--to be 'blunt' about it.
Ratings do nothing to prove that ClusterFox is a legitimate news source.

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/7/2009 9:44:51 AM | In the end all the News Media outlets are guilty of misleading their viewers from time to time. And that's a shame. This is so very true in this day and age, but a sad predicament too.
We have seen this frequently by what is and what is not reported, along with how it is presented and reported on.
Actually the twisting of words and pictures is not only the media, but our everyday life.
Nobody has said Fox News is any different that all News Media outlets. It's just that FOX is the onlyvery few media outlets that does not walk lockstep with the Obama Agenda.
It appears that FOX is not the only outcast of the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. It seems that anytime a prominent person, company, group, and/or organization goes against a Obama/Democrat/WH policy then they are put on the list. Especially a major policy. The list is growing and growing rapidly. Many wondering who the heck will not be on this list of people the Nobel Peace Prize Laureate has created enemies with.

Glenn beck and Sean Hannity are not paid newscasters. If you wish to disqualify Fox News as a legitimate new source you have to address there news not there entertainment programs. Keith Olberman and Rachel Maddow are not part of MSNBC's news programs so they can not be utilized to defend the legitimacy of MSNBC. Not that anybody watches them anyhow

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/11/2009 4:27:05 PM | ^^^Being a "commentator" does not excuse one to also be a liar.
Say what you want about MSNBC commentators -- but they aren't faking footage.
Personally, if I was a Faux viewer, I would feel INSULTED that they just ASSUME I'm so stupid or lazy not to research their stories.
. . . but then again, I'm not a typical Faux viewer.

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/11/2009 4:53:23 PM | | Whether or not commentators are lieing on any station has nothing to do with there news programs legitimacy. Perhaps one should get there news from these threads because nobody here stretches the truth or lies to make there point. Hell some even go off the beaten path like trying to use non news shows as there argument for or against the topic of Fox being a legit news program. You know what I mean? | |
|
| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/11/2009 5:04:02 PM | No, I don't know what you mean. But then again I don't expect my news stations to lie to me . . . I guess I'm crazy like that. It is funny to me that those on the right EXPECT to be lied to and that it's okay.
I wouldn't be so critical if in the evenings Faux ran a flashing banner underneath that read:
***WARNING: THE COMMENTATOR YOU ARE WATCHING IS A LIAR. ***
Then it might not be so bad.

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/11/2009 5:12:43 PM | | I don't blame you for not watching Fox's legitimate news programs because of what Glenn Beck or Hannity might have said. Thats why I don't watch the news programs on many channels because other unrelated programs on those same channels have people who have told lies... It's just so shameful. | |

It is a shame that all news media has put some type of spin on their programs.
The commentary programs are a bit worse, with the commentators giving a bigger spin on the news.
There are a few newspapers who at least seem to present both sides though biased, and a very few that seem to just report the news.
However it seems that except for some of the local news stations a majority of our televised news is biased one way or another.

| Nobel Peace Prize Laureate confirms Faux News is NOT a news organization Posted: 11/11/2009 5:54:01 PM | Major Garret will be interviewing Barak Obama next week in China. He will be doing this on FOX NEWS. Apparently a noble prize winner disagrees with a Nobel prize laureate. It's good to see that the President of The United States of America views Fox as a legitimate enough news source to report on his employment. | |

If you wish to disqualify Fox News as a legitimate new source you have to address there news not there entertainment programs. Like labelling a scandalized Republican with a "(D)"-- on two separate occasions? Or like saying that a decade of stable to cooling temperatures in the US is solid evidence against global climate change?
Really, though, the first red flag to the viewer should be that Fox claims to be "fair and balanced." It only appears that way to those who are fairly unbalanced towards the Republican Party. None of the other networks make any such fairy tale claim about themselves.

Whether or not commentators are lieing on any station has nothing to do with there news programs legitimacy. Perhaps not... if one is willing to overlook the fact that the news portion will pick up on the lies presented by the commentators and then re-present them as "news" without bothering to identify the lack of truth...
...But... the fact that FOX is the only major broadcaster to argue in court that it is perfectly acceptable for them to "make sh*t up"... to report "fake news"... anytime they want... probably has A LOT of bearing on thier "news programs legitimacy"...
