When I was 50, a woman half my age (we had previously worked in an office together), kinda blindsided me (I thought age barriers were barriers at the time), after a wedding reception for a mutual friend, and we had a sexual relationship for about a year. One of the few relationships I ended, for reasons that had nothing to do with sex or age, but she taught me to look at the human being first. At 24, and a nurse, she had grown out of viewing people as "gross".
That lesson has stayed with me.
OP, while humans too frequently seem to move with a "herd mentality", and like angel fish in a tank, turn in unison and always point in the same direction, it's a mistake to bank on appearances, and especially tricky to catergorize humans by age, almost as much as by gender. One young nurse did lust after me. and found a way to show it, but she was a remarkable woman (and she was not looking for the "stability" features of the "older" man, either).

At 41 I guess I wouldn't be considered a young lady, but yes I do lust after older men! It's not "daddy issues" or any other "issues" that were mentioned. I just find them extremely attractive and sexy!

Attraction and looks aren't always relevant of age. But as for the relationship lasting, I'm doubtful. What happens when an older man's libido and health starts lagging and a woman's keeps peaking? By the time the 25 year old is 45 and the "older" gentleman is 70, he may find himself looking at his "golden" years without companionship and the 45 year old at her peak with half of the divorce assets looking to make up for lost time. | |

I prefer younger men myself...not because I'm a cougar, as I despise that word, but because the older ones can't keep up with my high energy level. By the way, I dated younger men for over 20 years -- way before it was the "in thing." It just always worked out that way.  | |

I up until now dated men my age, and after discussing it with Daddy (we talk about everything) and me thinking it was me doing something wrong, he told me that someone older would better suit my maturity level. Couldn't have said it better myself! This is one reason why I have thought older guys may be a more attractive option.
At the same time, I don't think age matters either way, as long as there is chemistry between two people. Age is just a number!

As a general rule, I normally do find older men more attractive. Unless they're insensitive louts such as that statement indicates. I'm with you Char...

Stop kidding yourself.... if you're not very wealthy or George Cloonie look alike, forget about it.... What's in their minds is "What is that old freak looking at ?"
On line? I agree. But I'm neither rich nor a perfect physical specimen (Though in good shape.) and I attract many younger women. (Not that I take advantage of every opportunity.) Most young women though, are as grossed out about much older men as I was/am by older women. I think a man that has held up well over the years is a better example of good genetic material than taking a gamble on youth. Maybe some young women agree. Though dating our sons could be a better alternative for most. | |

then again, not surprised to see the majority of 30+ women all bashing it like it would be a social taboo... its not that they really think that, its just they feel threatened and competitive with the younger ones... which is senseless.. no need to be.
Then again, it really depends on how worldly you are and where you location is... younger women/older men is not uncommon... in fact, very common... but not in Arkansas... | |
