Clearly a guy asks you to his house he is a creep/criminal/potential rapist? Dont think so. Of course giving his address away wouldnt be a very good first step would it? And of course every other guy in this country is a rapist/paedo because the daily mail/fill in the blank moron paper says so? Dont think so either. What if a woman asked a guy to his?? Clearly she is not capable of committing such crimes like Myra Hindley etc etc etc??

Internet safety rule number one..........................DO NOT MEET AT HIS HOUSE.

Sorry if that sounds harsh, but was a teenager recemtly found dead after meeting a guy from the net unbeknownst to her parents ?

This may be a free site, but follow the rules of the paid sites ....................... tell a friend where you are going, and don't meet at your house.

Unless you like the danger element...................... which is your choice of course

I see the point but also see the sort of hysteria caused when perhaps someone would rather meet a stranger in the comfort of their own place. Other countries would probably look upon it as a very open, trusting and welcoming gesture. I think paranoia has set too many people on a strange path.

I'm sorry to hear what happened to you angeldelight. Glad to hear you haven't given up hope though.

Cleverkitten- spot on don't apologise! I read the story about the teenager meeting a guy from the internet. Let's face it, you never really know who you're meeting, even after several emails and phone calls., they're still a stranger.

John-Boy, sad as it may seem the person (male or female) you're meeting could be a potential...well, whatever! There are plenty of horror stories, but it doesn't mean it can't happen to you.

I don't see it as paranoia, when it could happen to you

John Boy .................. I once met a guy on a Greek Island, he invited me back to his house...................... to meet his family...........................to see the way he lived. He actually lived in a cave house, and I was honoured that he wanted to show me his home and meet his parents with no hidden agenda other than a cultural exchange. He was actually engaged to an American girl at the time. We understood it was friendship nothing else, and nothing untoward occurred.

I believe not all encounters between members of the opposite sex have to be sexual, and my life is enriched because of that

I could win the lotto but I aint paranoid about that. Bring it on. A wee bit of danger now and again never hurt anyone. Sometimes doing something outside your comfort zone can bring sursprising and refreshing results.

I have probably done more things outside your 'comfort zone' than you , as I am somewhat older and can spell 'surprising' Do not assume that others have not, just 'cos they don't shout about it

I don't just speak for myself, but plenty of oldies have been there, done that, and bought the t-shirt

I implied nothing of the kind my dear and age is no guarantee of experience whatever you may be implying . I would like to see you spell this well after several large drinks. I also like to wind folk up from time to time to soothe my boredom.
