Posted: 11/3/2009 4:45:05 PM | Yeah, could be an excuse for just not digging ya, but, if they really do put Jesus ahead of any flesh-and-blood relationship, if that "higher love" does it for 'em on those dark, lonely (horny) nights, let 'em go be with those fellow disciples in church and keep those horny feelings at bay (if it's possible) with prayer and Bible scripture study, and, if this fails, dildos.
"Jesus got game!" That cracked me up. He sure was (and is) The Man. I bet he had to fight the wanton, lusty ladies off with a stick during His time, if you really believe that he was God incarnate and flesh-chaste. | |

I would have to agree that scripture does say that Jesus tells us to ~go and sin no more~ yet scripture also says that we are forgiven ~70 times 70~ and even more..... what I take away from both verses is that we can be truly forgiven by calling on God for the Power to overcome our sins.. what better way to prove to someone that you are sorry than by never doing it again... also, who is God more pleased with, a sinner who stopped sinning after 3 times or one who stopped after 30... the story of the prodigal son teaches us that God is Pleased that we stop sinning, God Rejoices and Welcomes the Lost Home...the Other Wonderful Grace of God is that Christs Sacrifice is One Time and Sufficient for ALL of mankinds sin (behold the ~Lamb~ of God ... before Christ man needed daily animal sacrifices to atone for sins, now we have A Saviour) .. we can ask for forgiveness with assurance, we can overcome sin by asking God for His Power and we can be CERTAIN that we are forgiven for any sin when we go and sin no more... I am not motivated by guilt, I am motivated by the Offer....since we never know if we will be granted another day The Gospel says to seek Gods Power without ceasing and this way we can be secure of our place in Eternity... I think Eternity is worth submitting to God for and to be frank, God says that Jesus comes for His People who do His Will not for people still seeking their own pleasures at the cost of losing Eternity.... blessings | |

If I believed in a judgment day, I'd be damn sure my intent and my repenting was for real. Because EVERYONE knows that there are more righteous women then there are men.
And black people are considered descendants of Cain (the guy who killed his brother Abel in the Bible) so couldn't hold the priesthood until 1978. And they baptize for the dead (yeah, they will baptize YOU once you pass away)....Religion scares me. | |

OMG ..  .. I think we're getting just a little carried away with all this .. seriously..
People who have Pre-marital or Non-marital sex do NOT become cheaters IF they marry a 'human' male!! holicrap!
IF you believe in "God" - then you believe that you were created by that "God" (of yours) .. IMO - continuously putting yourself or others down - Judging, guilting, manipulating or otherwise OFFENDING "Gods' Creations" - do ya think that's the "message" your diety wants you to spread?? "You're not good enough, you're nasty, bad, evil, sinner ..blahblahblah" ..
MOST of the "rules/laws" that I've read cited in this thread are HUMAN constructs (ie: manmade NOT "god") . .. MOST of the b.s. that is designed to create Fear or Guilt or any other feelings of being "not good enough" ARE of Human origin - Designed to Control You much easier.
That said - I often wonder, when I read these Judgemental / Fear Mongering posts - Where are all these "Christians" / "God fearing folk" when I'm trying to organize a Fundraiser to help those who are less fortunate?? EH?? Where are ya? Church? .. to quote YOUR book: "Faith without Works is empty." .. When I see You out there Helping those less fortunate, sharing and Giving to your fellow human being - Then I might lend credibility to what 'you' preach or 'claim' to believe The ONLY true measure of a persons belief is in their actions.
OT - IF those girls truelly Believed what they are spewing (after the fact) - they would Not have done the deed to begin with. IMO - they are Confused, f'd up and Not ready for a REal life human relationship.
I would rather Not be labelled "Christian" as I have found (in my experience) that they are the Most Judgemental and the Least likely to volunteer/give - Help the needy. | |

I have to agree with a poster that said the thing about cheating on God! Not so much about cheating on God, but the fact that they are not standing up for the principles and commandments that they were baptized into. Umm...guys, I'm *thinking* that what this poster was essentially saying was, if someone is going to be daft enough to back up and use the "Jesus" excuse AFTER already having had sex with someone, then obviously they can't even be true to their own beliefs, so how would they be true to their partner? Or something like that, lol.
Personally, OP, I'd find that flakier n hell, and would be gone in a heartbeat. It would be one thing for someone to tell you upfront that it's against their religious beliefs to have sex before/outside of marriage...but to use it as an excuse after the fact? I'd write them off as a complete flake. | |

Those women want to married before having sex. They feel guilty of enjoying sex without a commitment. It has more to deal with their upbringing than anything else. Religious families teach their daughters and sons to value themselves and the teachings of the bible.
Sex before marriage is a SIN.... I can understand the women. The feelings of guilt must be horrible.

After reading so many points of view and using hindsight I think this is very likely the case.
I’ve always avoided any profile that states, “This is the number one thing in my life.” Neither one of these two ladies had stated anything like that; however, my profile did state I was looking for long term (not anymore!). I just didn’t think long term had to mean marriage. I also didn’t realize that religious beliefs would wind up kicking me to the curb when in the beginning those beliefs were flexible.
The one thing that REALLY gets me though is through all of this........ I'm now hooked on these $%^%&%# forums!

Also, I feel they felt you should want to marry them, maybe because they enjoy being with you. The only thing is if they do this with every man they date, you should take that into consideration, some women are just all about getting married. They will use any excuse to get the man to do it!
On the other side if a person tries to use their religion as an excuse of this is why im a good person, it also manipulative. So, if the only reason they gave you is because they were having religious issues. That is not bad, however, if they use their whole idea of them being into Jesus as a indication of their worthiness to be with you, or that they are good women in general that is manipulative!
So, all in all I will just chalk it up to a couple of women that are very nice fun women. You had a good time and they had a change of heart towards the relationship. Jesus was only a small part of it. | |
