Go take some art classes, dance, anything that involves interacting with people. The gym is a good idea if you initiate the talking, because I'm pretty sure that most guys are too focus on working out to bother talking to ladies, I know I am. Going to bars is sometimes a bad idea, I use to go to bars to meet ladies, but didn't quite work. Now I just go to bars just to get a couple of cold ones and space out in my own little world

I heard Australia has more women than men, so that could be a tough call, but yeah doing some sporting activity that has more men than women, increase your odds....unless you are lookng for a certain type of guy, then maybe a cooking class or something that you might like to share with a man. A woman recently told me that her friend dated a guy and they had both joined a fish watching club, well, the girl dropped out and the guy continued on......and continued on being single and watches all kinds of fish now...happily ever after.....so you see, you may join something and thinking it's about a relationship with the opposite sex, but you may end up catching an even bigger fish than you imagined! She told me about another friend of hers that does a lot of work from home and she recently invited him to do something, but he said he really doesn't like to go out much this time of year because he puts his Halloween lights up and really likes to be around them......so you see, sometimes there is light at the end of the tunnel!!

Tons of guys there, and the ones that end up near me dont usually mind my sports enthusiasm :) . Its the only place, aside from a wealth seminar I went to, that I've ever seen a line for the mens room.
