Curious---whose 'wealth' did we destroy?
The oil corporations?

We essentially destroyed govt property. Those cars could have been sold either in the country or outside of it.

They were clunker CLUNKER GAS HOGS.

I thought the idea of the program was to get the clunker CLUNKER GAS HOGS off the road?

Why in the world would we want to resell CLUNKER GAS HOGS and put them back on the road?

I thought the libs wanted to help poor folks. What better way to help them find jobs by selling them used cars? The govt just threw that money down a rat hole.

The other alternative would be to sell the cars as PARTS.

Heck you could have sold them to Chinese to make up for some of that debt.

I...guess...it could be construed as such...somewhere...out...you know...there...

Yes, by all means sell the cars we were hoping to get off the road because of their gas consumption and detrimental emissions to other countries, 'cuz we all know that what happens in other countries has no bearing on our air quality...

Did you ever consider that the cars we have, create less pollution than the cars manufactured in other countries?

What I considered was that Americans have too many gas-guzzlers that produce too many harmful emissions.
I also considered the CFC to be a great encouragment for the owners of said vehicles to get rid of them, and to buy something less harmful with better mpg ratios.

Sorta like..."I only scream at you and call you names--the guy across the street actually hits his kid."

Yeah...that's a great comparison.

Oh so we use tax dollars from ALL Americans to subsidize those who want new cars! If that's not bad enough they allowed people to buy cars that got 1-2 mpg better.

Let me ask you this. If a neighbor asked YOU and his neighbors to give him $4,500 FREE to buy a new car to save the planet. Do you think you would do it?
