| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/2/2009 7:50:23 PM | I have a bad memory for names!! All those years of everyone having name badges means ive never had to learn the skill!!!!
Although it is pretty "special" to forget someones name in a written message!!! Even i wouldnt make that mistake LOL. if you forget you just go back and look at profile or ld messages or whatever.

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/2/2009 11:25:29 PM | | look, if you emailed each other a couple of times and he slipped up..it is not important, you barely know each other.. you are bound to get something wrong. Now if he forgot your name or said some one elses name whilst you two were having sex..then come on the forum and make a thread :P | |

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 1:12:52 AM | Firstly, I think its very naive to assume within a few days that you are the only person that he may be talking to so theres every chance he could easily have forgotten your name and secondly some people like myself are just really crap at remembering names especially the names of virtual strangers as in this scenario.
I first met my gal on a date in a bar where her and her sister turned up and I brought a mate to make the numbers up. I was so engrossed in a topic of conversation with her sister that whenever I addressed my gal I called her by her sisters name (I'm still reminded of this x months down the line) ...........eeeeeek !!
If you were me how would you respond? If it were early stages and we hadn't even met I would personally cut them some slack. The chances are you both are/or have been talking to other prospects too and there is no commitment at this stage for either of you whilst your fishing.
Btw I've dated women on here that still call me MAC !!!

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 2:05:14 AM | | I recently had a message from a woman in China of all places, no kidding! She called herself Xzylczyxz1983. I asked her if I could called her Xzylczyxz1982 instead as it’s so much easier to remember. That's was the last I heard of her, wonder why! | |

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 3:12:05 AM | | Im terrible at remembering names very very bad. I'd say he just got confused because he is probably messaging lots of women at the same time and theres nothing wrong with that, after all its what the sites for. Im sure you dont sit here only speaking to one person at a time? I know I don't. | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 5:10:32 AM | | I think if anyone thinks a person is only emailing them on a site like this is either very naive or very conceited......can't decide which :) | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 5:17:14 AM |
He replied and apologised for the mistake :D
Thanks for all your posts!
Louise... I mean Lucy!!
No wonder the guy in question is confused, if the OP herself is !

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 6:05:10 AM | | I'm terrible at remembering peoples names so i wouldn't take it personally, unless it was forgotten in bed ;) | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 8:31:35 AM | Unless you have met up and dated already then I don't think it is a massive deal really.
Granted, it's not the smoothest move in the world, and you'd be within rights to rib him and make him squirm a bit, but it isn't as though you are soul mates, or in a relationship.
You are still just internet buddies, it's no biggie.

Bit of advice needed please... a really nice guy sent me a message a few days ago, we got chatting and had loads of stuff in common. All went quiet for a few days but he emailed this evening but... he got my name wrong!
Hmm....quite a lot happened in those 'few' days.
Was it a typo, or did he call you something totally different?
If you were me how would you respond?
I'd reply to the email and put my name at the bottom, just like I usually do.

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 9:20:21 AM | | The first time I slept with my ex hubby I called out my ex boyfriends name. He forgave me instantly haha things were going too well to worry about it. However, it may have been the first sign of a relationship doomed!!! | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 11:55:02 AM | Give the poor lad a break... my MUM still doesn't always get my name right and she's known me forever!!! | |

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 12:22:23 PM | Think I would wonder why he hadn't bothered to check the previous messages unless of course he deleted them. Would probably be a bit miffed about it but would make a joke of it. Just thinking that even if he had been messaging other people, I would have been too, particularly if was only in the first few days. | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 1:18:59 PM | a rose by any other name...........let him call you anything he likes, as long as it's not 'late for dinner' Ha!
Come now, you're a big girl now, just tell him, how hard is that?
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 1:42:27 PM | I don't tend to sign my 'proper' name, I usually just put
In defence of the OP's gentleman friend, I could say that the latter part of her username may have prompted him to call her Louise not Lucy, as it is the more obvious (in my mind) option. If he were an american he may even have called her Louella or some such nonsense I would say it's no big deal.
The only things guys call me is a cab ................... only joking

| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 1:56:59 PM | It means hes interested [because he wrote to you] but not that interested... | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 2:16:20 PM | Could be a momentary 'brain fart' OP, and only you can decide, based on how much you like him. Personally, I call all ladies 'Babe' or 'Hun', or 'Sugar -Tits', Ladies like that...... And it avoids such mistakes | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 2:35:37 PM | | Its amazing how in the beginning women will block and tell a man to eff off for the slightests tiny reason. yet once in a relationship women will put up with FAR worse. Its a ridiculous way to choose a partner | |
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 4:05:30 PM | i allocate numbers... i tell them all they are number one!
the silly buggers believe it as well.
|
| He forgot my name!?! Posted: 11/3/2009 5:13:16 PM | 'Am I supposed to think someone I barely know has me indelibly etched on her brain and can't think of anything else?'
Hell yes lol.......forget my name? You never get a second chance to make a first impression to coin a cliche.....even if you put it down to human error, i bet you won't forget it! Im the type of person that would be very careful not to make an error like that as i think its bad manners and shows a lack of effort and its one of those things difficult to tackle without putting someone off in the first place. I dont think men can speak here, they can be put off by the way a woman says hello
