| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/7/2009 10:59:09 PM | Where exactly did I say people like you??? You enjoy making shiat up just to argue?
Try to understand...I'll type slowly. The doctor did not 'open up a private clinic' for crying out loud. Do you understand the whole concept of a team doctor and how a professional sports team operates? He contacted the gov't about getting enough vaccine for the team and their families. The gov't said....sure thing. The vaccines were given.
The players contributed??? They, like 400,000 other Albertans got themselves and their children vaccinated. Evil, pure evil.
Also never said the media was wrong...not once did I say that...no where did I say they lied.....again, you're just making shiat up to argue there bud. The media wasn't wrong...but you have to admit, the timing was great for the government to take the heat off their mess until they could get more vaccine. Wrong, no...oversensationalized...he11 yeah.
People in the government got fired. THEY were in the wrong. No one from the Flames were fired...but by all means, continue to blame the players.
And...I'm not from Calgary...but thanks for coming out.

| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 11:28:01 AM | | Well, in this case it is indeed relevent bud.....you assumed that only somone from Calgary would defend the actions of the Flame's ...simply because it is their home town team and that their opinions weren't based on anything other than that fact. | |

I thought that was against the 'rules'? I've seen people told they were not allowed to post on other provinces forums before?
Whatever though... It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out who cluster is... perhaps if some stopped flapping their gums and paid attention a bit, they'd realize what an ass their making of themselves with all these ASSumptions.
Oh... Cluster :) | |

What makes a baby anymore important then a 25 year old hockey player? Seriously... take an ethics course and come back and explain that to me... good luck, I can't wait to hear this one! OH!! LET ME ANSWER!! 1. A 25 year old hockey player can say "I am having diffultly breathing" ... A baby cannot 2. A 25 year old hockey player can get out of bed and take more Tylenol/Advil as needed, or put on/take off a blanket as necessary. ... A baby cannot 3. A 25 year old baby is not under constant, 24 hour care by an individual who has no idea what's wrong. ... A baby is 4. A 25 year old Hockey player understands he has the flu, and knows that's why he feels like crap, and can console himself in knowing it will only get better. ... A baby does not. 5. A 25 year old Hockey player has personal physicians to take care of him, and monitor his health, constanly. ... A baby does not. 6. A 25 year old Hockey player works out on a daily basis to keep fit, agile and healthy. ... A baby does not. 7. A 25 year old hockey player can avoid crowds, if he so chooses, to avoid contact with germs. ... A baby can't choose. 8. A 25 year old Hockey player has built up antibodies to fight the flu. ... A baby has not. 9. A 25 year old Hockey player has the ability to communicate, judge, reason, and act on instinct. ... A baby does not. MOST IMPORTANTLY OF ALL 10. A 25 year old Hockey player is in great physical shape, with a fully developed and healthy body. ... A baby is NOT !!
The news had been broadcasted since the Wednesday before the Flames got their shots, that there was a possibility, and scare that there wasn't enough vaccination to go around. There is NO WAY that none of the Flames heard about this, and they went ahead and took the vaccination anyway (along with their families).
Sure, the government is to blame, but so is the Flames organization. They followed through in getting the shots all knowing that there was a shortage.
Do they deserve the shot more than anyone else? SURE!! You say... Because they are on private planes? Because they are surrounded by plexi glass that protects them from fans who are far away? Because they shake the hands of strangers often (which they can make a personal choice not to and can wash their hands after any shake of the hands) ... OH! I know, it's because they sit at a car dealership and sign autographs!!... silly me.
I LOVE my hockey ... But I'd sooner see the Calgary Flames and the Oilers suffer a 7 day flu that I know they will fully recover from, then have a child or adult in need, suffer, or die. Anyday.
They did what they were told to do?? Well, good thing they didn't listen when I telepathically told them to jump off the bridge... HAH!
My 2 cents. The Flames blew it. As IF they didn't know this action would have them come out looking bad. As IF they didn't know full well that they were taking from the mouths of babes.
For shame Flames | |

| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:02:13 PM | Hi NL !!!!!!
Doesn't take a rocket scientist is one bothers to look at my profile anyhow. Had pics up...took them down...several of my clients came up on my 'matches'...not cool. Rather not have them think I'm looking for a man when they're on my table !! LOL

| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:26:13 PM | Trubble...my reasons for not posting photos are really none of your damn business...really. Perhaps if you were in a professional occupation you would understand. The again...probably not.
Yes, user names do tell a lot about a person.
|
| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:27:14 PM |
Tens of thousands...no, hundreds of thousands, of perfectly fit, healthy people, who are not in high risk catagories wenmt down and stormed these clinics to be first in line for vaccines...giving little thought to the high risk groups. Because they were ASSURED, over and over, that there was enough for everybody. The shortage made the news 2 DAYS before the Flames got their vaccinations.
Know it. | |
|
| |
| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:33:58 PM | And...you assume that the vaccine was ordered and delivered to the team THAT day....not weeks ahead?????
You're correct...everyone in Alberta...including the Flames...were ASSURED there was enough vaccine for every man, woman and child in the province.
|
| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:38:27 PM | ^^ I didn't assume anything... I DO know, however, that they all took the shot on Friday, knowing full well there was a shortage.
They could have postponed. No?
|
| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:42:17 PM | I have a few questions about points 1 through 9 in Steves Fox's manifesto.
2. A 25 year old hockey player can get out of bed and take more Tylenol/Advil as needed, or put on/take off a blanket as necessary. ... A baby cannot
Does this baby live on his/her own? Like in an apartment in the Beltline or something? Why is he/she fending for his/herself?
5. A 25 year old Hockey player has personal physicians to take care of him, and monitor his health, constanly. ... A baby does not.
If this kid had parents they could take him/her to the hospital. But I guess he/she's going to have to call a cab.
7. A 25 year old hockey player can avoid crowds, if he so chooses, to avoid contact with germs. ... A baby can't choose.
You're right. This baby has bills to pay. Off to the battle the masses, 9-5, sick or healthy.
9. A 25 year old Hockey player has the ability to communicate, judge, reason, and act on instinct. ... A baby does not.
Baby's don't act on instinct!?! Then what's all the gd crying about?
Other than that, I get it. I mean....I "know it".
|
| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 9:55:07 PM | BINGO OMG!! You get it!!!
2. Hockey players have the attention of Medical Doctors by means of a simple call. A babies doctor is their parent(s).
5. Have you ever been to the hospital with a sick child OMG? It's quite a luxerious experience. 4 hours in a waiting room full of sick people. It's great fun!
7. This baby has to go with his parents if they have to go somewhere (groceries, pay bills, pick up the other school children, etc.) It's illegal to leave a baby at home or in a car alone.
9. I know you know it.
OE: Oh... and further to #7 ... Tell me it's easy to keep strangers from cooing and pawing at your "CUTE LIL BABY" while standing in line at the bank, groceries or elsewhere... Don't even get me started on that. But you already know it, right?
|

| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 10:35:22 PM | Perhaps...just maybe...if babies are at such high risk ( although, they're not by any stretch one of the highest risk groups ), several things should have happend that you all should be biatching about instead of ranting for weeks about 20 frickin hockey players..because seriously...how many vaccines did they actually use???????
1. Complain all you want about the fiasco the gov't made of the immunization program. it wa a disgrace, a joke and an embarassement to all Albertans.
2. Complain about the fact that there were no guidelines or rules set up well ahead of time as to who would be vaccinated on designated days.
3. Complain about the fact that before the program began, the gov't lied to the public in stating that there was enough vaccine for everyone to be vaccinated.
4. Complain about the media for causing mass hysteria which lead to the overcrowding at clinics.
5. Complain about the fact that there were not enough clincis set up and they were understaffed due to gov't cutbacks in nursing.
6. Complain about 400,000 Albertans rushing to get shots before the high risk groups could. ( wonder how many of them let babies in front of them in the line )
Or, you know...just sit here and biatch about 20 hockey players.....because most definitely babies all over Canada are now going to die because of that one factor.
|
| calgary flames, line jumpers Posted: 11/8/2009 10:42:29 PM | 20 hockey players???
We are talking about the entire organization getting immunized... Not 20 people. Get it straight. Throw in their families.
You keep turning this toward blaming the government, and no one has ever said they don't blame the governement. But this thread alone, is talking about how the FLAMES got immunized before the needy.
Your points are moot ... In fact, YOU are the one trying to sway the direction of the thread toward the government, when the Flames damn well knew there was a shortage before they took the shots.
In the end, it's still, Shame on the Flames.
