| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/5/2009 9:59:41 PM | | Porn sucks nowadays. I miss that industrial porn from the olden days. They really knew how to do it back then. Now it's all for the money, all mainstream and it just sucks. It sucks. But at least it's free. | |

| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/6/2009 4:48:08 AM | You know perhaps the question could be is real life ruining sex? At anyone time there are over a hundred thousand peeps on this site and I can't see too many getting any. Loop in the divorce rate, single parents, STD's,bbw's, feminism, and nice guys -- it's a virtual landmine out there. Besides love wanes but porn is eternal, lust is temporary and for all the BS that can come before and after maybe it just isn't worth it. | |

| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/6/2009 6:12:27 AM | | This is going to sound strange but my relationship with porn is weird. Why, because when I have been single, I completely refrained from watching porn. I poured all the energy that a person can to searching and watching and all that into the hunt of the real thing. Interestingly enough, the only porn that I have bought it has been with my gf and both of us looked at the titles so it would be to both of our satisfactions. So then the porn has been used to enhance our experience not to substitute it. Still now, my curiosity is more drawn to seeing erotic B&W photos that an all out of "Oh my god, oh my god" scene. I am more turned on by subtlety that all out bonking. | |

Lucky people...
Is porn ruining real live sex?
I'm not into porn but I don't believe that porn can ruin one's (sex) life anymore than gambling, alcohol, drugs, junk food, etc. can ruin your life.
It's the excess of those things that has the potential to ruin or harm you....most things in moderation are fine and finding a happy (and healthy) middle-ground between what's good for you and um...that other place is the key;)

| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/6/2009 8:02:06 AM | I never quite understood why hitting a girl with your****was seen as a turn on. It does however show how weak your erection is, but moving on....
Simple people can't distinguish between fantasy and reality. They think all sex should look like porn sex, and those people miss out. But those people miss out on a lot of things, so I won't cry for them.
I will however suggest that people put more importance on how the sex feels, rather than how it looks. If you're trying to mimic professional porn stars than you'll not only probably fail and look like a pathetic wannabee, you'll pay more attention to setting the scene and less to your enjoyment and that of your partner.
Good sex requires total concentration on what is going on in the present, not the plotline to some porno you watched earlier that day. Doing is a lot better than watching, and if you hold yourself up to the standards of porn videos, your sex life is just going to be another mediocre reality show.

Or anal sex. My thing is... don't ask me to do it if you won't do it. Right.
Yeah, the whole antics of 'facing the camera' stuff and angles and crap.
And the orgasms are FAKE. Not all women are screamer and yellers and flail about like they are demon possessed.

| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/6/2009 2:43:48 PM | Naomi Wolfe recently wrote an article that reached a somewhat similar conclusion. In a nutshell, she claimed porn had ruined the sex lives of many young men by filling them with unrealstic expectations of both their sexual prowess and their partners' responses.
I dunno. And, frankly, I don't care. This is an arguement I am no longer willing to participate in. Nor do I feel any need to do so. I'll explain why, starting with the latter.
If I am right, and an interest in explicit sexual imagery is a perfectly normal part of being male, then no war on porn will ever succeed. The Andrea Dworkins and Katherine MacKinnons of the world can say whatever they like, publish whatever they please. They can march round and round outside of adult bookstores until their feet bleed. As long as male homo sapiens inhabit the planet, there will be a ravanous appetite for porn. And as long that appetite exists, so will porn.
Secondly--and this is more important--anyone who would dare try to tell me what I can look at , what I can read or what I should enjoy is soneome I simply will not talk to. I simply will not allow anyone to speak to me in that way. I would no sooner talk to such a person than I would negotiate with someone planning to bomb a womens' health clinic. People like that need to be totally isolated, totally marginalized. Let them shout from their pulpits and scribble in their ivory towers. If they try to push their views on the rest of us, shout them down, oppose them, destroy them. Those who would take away our free speech are the only ones who really do deserve to be silenced.

Ron Jeremy like, owned the porn empire for a while, reinvesting his "acting" compensation. (Hey, don't they call them "models", not actors/actresses? Maybe they should call them paradigms, lol).
And the orgasms are FAKE.
Saw an interview with some porn "actresses" last year on tv. One of them, one of your entrepreneur player/coach types, claimed she O'd in more than half her scenes, because she couldn't spend the whole day with a c-ck sliding in an out without somehow acknowledging its presence, and anointing the invader accordingly.
On the other hand, what always kinda gave me pause is that the pistoning dyks, in either **** or butt, never glisten for the cam. Ouch!! That's professionalism?!!! I'd rather do a G. Gordon Liddy and hold my hand over a candle to prove my prowess.

| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/6/2009 5:10:50 PM | I agree with Rarebird message 12 Most porn is ridiculously over the top. It's not even sexy or sensual. How can these ridiculous scenarios and physical rarities be a turn on??
Ocean sunfish...you say porn gives us ideas?? The ideas are usually far from sensual and sometimes cliche.....It is so fake and so not genuine...wouldn't it be nicer to come up with your own ideas of what turns you on???
I think most porn just gives people ideas of how to get off without really facing their own sexuality...they learn to separate themselves from the physical act.

| Is porn ruining real live sex? Posted: 11/6/2009 7:36:04 PM | Porn isn't supposed to be used for sex ed or have any moral standards. It's suppose to help people getoff. Anyone who let's porn ruin their sex life has a serious issue within themselve that they should seek professional help for.
And yeah, the orgasms are fake. I would think the only ones that are even somewhat real are maybe amateur videos, but I've never watched a video and expected a real orgasm.
And for every weird, sick, disqusting, outrageous, and far out there act and fetish that you see in a porn video, there is someone out that that actually enjoys it, otherwise, it wouldn't sell.
Sometimes it's fun to watch porn alone and even more fun with a partner that likes watching it with you. And sometimes you just want a good F***ing without the love and romance. Sometimes all you have is 15 - 20 minutes. LOL.
If you don't like porn that's fine, but let's not go saying it ruins peoples sex lives. Some people understand exactly what porn is amd what it's for. And some watch it and enjoy it together and continue to have a healthy sex life together.

Posted: 11/6/2009 8:03:28 PM | | Ummm to the people saying the orgasms are fake......in certain porn they are but you must be watching the fake stuff because much out there is very real. Look for the more amateur/not big budget type porn. I can spot fake porn just by the clip thumbnail before I even watch it.
