| The majority of women wants a man with a sense of humor Posted: 7/15/2005 9:01:48 AM | The problem with women wanting a man with a sense of humor is the fact that sometimes guys with too much humor are not taken too seriously. I have noticed that even tho I'm funny and humorous, when I do get serious it takes a little sometimes for people to realize it.
Also immaturity should not be mistaken as humor. There are alot of men out there who suffer from 'Peter Pan Syndrome' and although it may seem alright, it can have large affect on people around you. They are a little clingy and instead of a girlfriend they are actually looking for a mommy type (Wendy)
Women who wind up with these types of men are usually suffering from the 'Wendy Dilemma' where they feel they always have to take care of or help everyone.
Just sharing more information with everyone

OT: I think that it is a good point and maybe the reason guys get so nervous. I sometimes feel like I have to perform and get a few laughs. I am confident I have a good sense of humour (been told many times), but I am also extremely shy and it takes me awhile to be able to open up. You can't judge sense of humour on the first date.

When face with the possibility of a date I loose all my humour. LOL The stress I guess. Also I need to know the person so I will know what "level of humour" will work. __Funny thing is I am in sales and I need no time to read a potential customer and get them to langh. Maybe because I am in my element where as in dating I am not.

Well said. How can I make someone laugh if you don't know them really well? sometimes it works but most of the time it doesn't.

The thing that drives some woman absolutely off the deep end is when they are mad at you, and then just break out laughing.
That has saved my Canadian bacon a few times.
I kind of have that Lennie Briscoe sense exceptionally dry sense of humour, and a great fondness for self-depreciating remarks. You will most often see me in a group of laughing people with a straight face.
Some of the best times I have ever had with women have been with both of us standing or lying there with huge tears of joy running down our cheeks - unable to even speak.
Good times.... | |
