| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/2/2007 7:57:03 PM | Do people ACTUALLY expect to meet their one true love on the internet?
Or in a bar...or a grocery store..or at work...or walking down the street nude at sunset with a sign that says 'I NEED someone NOW !!!'?
I like to just see who is out there and what they may have to say that may widen my world a bit more... if something else comes of it..great (or in some stalker type case..not so great..lol) a good laugh at a witty comment would suffice.
I know a lot of ppl feel the great need to be permanently attached to another and at one point in life I too thought that a grand goal.. until I realized that even then, ppl change, sometimes they die... so why attach put so much of my happiness with life on being in a relationship? If it happens.. again GREAT! If not, well I don't plan on being unhappy for the rest of my life.
Best of luck to those of you who really want a relationship no matter what and best of luck to you who find one..lol.
BTW - glad I never tried Eharmony, my best friend is a Christian and she and I seldom see eye to eye, but we've known each other for over 35 yrs so we are kinda stuck with each other.. I forgive her and she forgives me and we get along fine. BUT, I surely would not be able to date a man with her views and values...
Peace | |

Do people ACTUALLY expect to meet their one true love on the internet? I dont even understand why ANYONE has this idea in their head that they "HAVE TO" find that 'ONE' person!? Whats wrong with just living life and meeting all kinds of people and not having to get married or make one person "official" and be stuck with only one?
Life is short. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/3/2007 12:06:54 AM | I have had the same problems several times. I am sticking to this site and will NEVER go to any of those pay sites. I was signed up on True.com and they took my money the exact same way. I canceled through the message/email and they claimed on the phone that is not possible. I even wrote down the information. they still kept my $40.00
I think what they are doing is illegal. They are not providing the service they advertise. I even canceled before the trial was over and they never messaged me back through the email process to tell me I was still a member! They just discarded my email and left me hanging.
I hope many people read this and know what to do NOW before it is too late. Call them RIGHT away! CANCEL!!!
|
| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/3/2007 1:11:16 PM | So, True is crap, they still send me "winks" ans stuff ... too bad I deleted the el profile...lol
Just to check on the eharm thing I decided to take the test. I think I did ok until the spirituality questions.... How retarded are they? I failed their little test, I think the only reason they have the compatibility test is so that the "wierd" ones can't get it. WEll I didn't want in anyway. This is my home!

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/3/2007 2:53:33 PM | | I, to signed up with EHARMONY and they said they couldn't find me a match either. On top of that, they are way too expensive. Why would anyone want to pay that kind of money anyway just to meet someone? What a crock? | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/21/2007 12:10:28 PM | Well I agree that True was totally awful and so was Match.com. Dr. Phil giving Match.com his name didn't help. Totally awful. Eharmony, for me, has been better than True or Match but interestingly enough, no where near as good as POF. Ironically this one is free and offers much more. The others ought to have forums like this maybe, because that is often where you get to really know people. The problem with Eharmony is it gets horribly boooooring. You keep answering the same questions over and over and over again....after awhile you feel like you're taking quiz after quiz...almost seems like you should get a grade or something. But it never ends!! I have found that you have to really narrow down your settings if you want to get matches that are anywhere close to what you're looking for. .Anyway, I've had no luck (yet) on Eharmony and since being on POF, I'm not sure I even care anymore!! Like someone said above, meeting lots of different people and just enjoying life might be the better route to take. If love comes along, then it will be a pleasant surprise. If not, at least I didn't spend the rest of my days filling out endless questionnaires!! | |
|
| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/21/2007 12:41:48 PM | | After hearing all these testimonies I've decided to start a match site. So, send me your credit card numbers so I can get rich, but I promise to give you an opportunity to be rejected and disappointed. The main thing is that I have a constant flow of cash. If you try to opt out I'm gonna ignore you for awhile so you'll give up; that's my intention. Ok, thank you. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/24/2007 10:39:16 PM | Well, my friend met her Now husband on eharmony...she suggested I try it...good grief I just couln't bother to take the time to complete the survey...way to much like work...so I didn't take it any further, that was 3 or 4 years ago and they still send me their special offers | |
|
| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/24/2007 11:50:12 PM | I did the survey...it took forever. I got accepted, so far I have 67 matches. Call me stingy, but I'm not wasting my money. For $251, I can go for a weekend trip and enjoy it more than sit at home in front of the computer, waiting for that "perfect match" | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 5:05:34 AM | | Any good thing ive heard about Eharmony has easily been outweighed several times over by the other things. Best just to hang out here, this site has removed any need for another... | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 11:37:09 AM | I used to have an ad on E-H and I paid for it for a while, but living in Northern Maine I thought I wasn't getting the matches because of where I live. The few that I did get were living in Rhode Island and Vermont. WTH? Just to drive to Southern Maine is 6 hours so every time they would send me a match he would click on "too far away" before I could ever respond. One day a few years later I had forgot my password so I signed up under another email address. I filled out the questionnaire once again and low and behold they send me matches to two diff addresses now and they aren't even the same ones. Weird!! I never did meet anyone on there... obviously. Oh yeah, and I met someone here where I live one time they mentioned having an ad on E-H... I was like... wow... someone local and they couldn't even send me that name? POF Rocks!! | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 12:34:36 PM | | All I know is that I did meet a wonderful lady on eHarmony, and about to meet yet another really soon from eHarmony. The first one, just changed her mind about moving to Minnesota from Florida. Yes, I did jump on a jet to meet her in Florida. After all, we did talk for over 5 hours straight on the phone. To be honest, I have never once talked for that long with anyone in my life, so I figured we were compatible, and it turned out we were. If it had not been for her changing her mind after I met her, we would still be talking. POF does produce potential partners as well. I know of one guy that used to belong to POF. His profile name was Cosmo, and he just got married to a gal he met on POF. So there is hope in finding your true love on here and other sites. You get out of it what you put into it from what I am finding out. Kind of like cold calling people if you are in sales. The more people you call, the more chance you have in making a sale. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 1:28:13 PM | Ummm for the people ****ing about those "Sites" taking your money...read ALL of the fine print. You have to call them (all the sites that you join for a free 3-7 day trail) and tell them you dont want to be a member. Sending an email to the sites wont do a damn thing. This goes for TRUE...SINGLESNET....EHARMONY. The reason you got charged is because you didnt read the printed words. Instead of trying to hurry those "Free" emails to those woman/men take some time and just read.
I did the free 3 day trail with Singlesnet and didnt cancel in time. They were nice enough to refund my money and give me a year for free. Eharmony and Singlesnet have done wonders and helped a lot of people meet each other. Its kinda funny though...Ive met more people from Singlesnet compaired to the 0 Ive met here at this free site.

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 3:47:26 PM | | I tried E Harmony for a few months, but they had very few members in Maine so they couldn't offer much for potential matches. I think the theroy is good as far as the test for compatibility, but they are pretty expencive so not many members sign on. If you don't have the members you can do anything! | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 4:18:14 PM | I heard from a friend it costs somewhere in the ballpark of $400.I did the Quote free profile unquote...just to see.In spite of the optimistic commercials they said NOBODY on the planet Earth(or their listing which since the internet is all over the world, means on Earth) was compatible with me.That made me feel REAL good about myself.Long story short here at POF LOTS of people are compatible with me...or at least willing to find out.Yeah EHarmony is most likely not the best economically sound choice for finding love.
On a side note is it true the old man who does the EHarmony commercials is a polygamist?...Somebody told me he has a more wives than a farmer has cattle.

Maybe he was doing research for his website...?

Same thing happened with me -- I took the test and "failed" -- but then something funny happened. I started receiving emails from eharmony about matches for me. So I logged on (had to send in for my password, but got it) and found out someone as a joke opened an account in my name -- they must have passed the test I failed. And here's the really funny part -- in the section about my likes and dislikes it read that I enjoyed humiliating and degrading women and that was my main reason for being on the site. So that got on, and I didn't. Makes you question their standards

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 7:35:29 PM | | I did a trial period on there last year and received a lot of matches....only met one and he was verry nice. We still stay in contact as friends. Also, my son and his wife met on there and have been verrry happy. They both say they have been a blessing into each other's life. But, what it 'all' boils down to, in my opinion, is being wise and trusting God in your endeavors no matter what they are. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 9:22:36 PM | Sexy & Brainy is absolutely right.....it's called a "chargeback" simply contact the bank that issued the credit card to you......i.e. Chase/ Citibank/ Capital One etc....and tell them you did not authorize that charge they will immediately refund your credit card and the burden of proof lies on the online/ internet/ecommerce merchant to prove that you actually signed or authorized the billing for that site...and without a "signature" thats preety much impossible to do. Jus a lil FYI for you | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/25/2007 11:11:11 PM | | grog........you're so right! they did the same thing to me. however, they did give me a month.... free... too bad i still can't log on. it's now been six months of hell trying to get them to stop charging visa. they said they never got my e-mails. six months have gone by and still i've never been on their site! | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/26/2007 12:12:01 AM | i went thru the same thing with yahoo personals. just could not cancel my membership. no how before it charged another month on my credit card.. i complained to my bank.[ they are not under any obligations to do anything] and they got me another free month membership plus a money credit on my cards. but beware i was warned to keep as copy of the email i sent them as in a draft....hope this helps anyone in the same position. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 4:41:32 PM | No Problem....just keep in mind that as a consumer...when ever you make an online purchase, or place an order over the phone and charge it to your credit card....under the guidelines/rules and regulations of Visa/MasterCard ...... card holders have a 6 month "window of opportunity" to dispute and even potentially reverse any charges to their credit card account that they didn't authorize or for goods or services that they are not happy with.
Just remember as long as the transaction was a "keyed" or "card not present" transaction. You can dispute charges if you feel you are being "jerked" byt the company. Now DO NOT call your credit card company attempting to get a refund for that steak and potatoes dinner you had at your favorite restaurant over 4 months ago, claiming that it tasted bad, the waiter made you angry, the food got you sick and now you want a refund! #1 You signed the credit card receipt, in essence saying that the merchants food or service was satisfactory thus your "signature" being present on the receipt and #2 You'll just look like a complete idiot!!
