| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 5:23:32 PM | I couldn't agree more about e-harmony being a rip-off. I initially completed the profile under one e-mail address and after thinking it over, I signed up with a different address. The first address got all kind of responses, but the address that was the actual one , got very few responses. And it was never any of the guys that I was "allowed" to read profiles on. But once the time was almost up , I started getting several e-mails from them. Needless to say, I did not renew and won't. They are big time scam. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 5:46:13 PM | Yeow...and I thought I was the only one who thinks Eharmony is a BIGASS...BIGTIME rop-off...
So nice to hear these opinions....
My experience....I received 3 initial matches (which is what the promise per month) ...two were over 150 miles away...the third was local. I met him and we had ab-so-lutely no commonalities....
I then called Ehamony and asked if this was representative of the matches I'd be receiving....and was told my requirements were too stringent...
They were:
A male Non-smoker No gambling/drinking/drug addiction Self-supporting (not looking for a suga-momma)
When my laughing subsided....I requested a refund...which I received.
What a phony-baloney website!! They should be sued for false advertising!

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 5:52:48 PM | I had a similar experience. I was on for 3 months, because they ran a special, and when I wanted out, they magically did not get my cancellation notice. I called several times, and still they did not stop charging me. I finally had to close my entire account.
The one man that I met turned out to be married, which I had found out on our date because his wife called my cell phone while we where having coffee. Super lame!

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 6:11:08 PM | I just heard that people have gotten rejected by e-Harmony by filling out the questionaires, so I just think those adds from Chemistry are funny.

FYI Eharmony is a Christian site
e-Harmony is NOT Christian site. If e-Harmony was a Christian site it would just claim to be one. e-Harmony was founded by a psychologist that's supposed to be an expert in relationships. That's how e-Harmony was originally advertised.

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 6:27:09 PM | | After I had signed up a few years ago I started receiving all types of spam and junk in my email...took me awhile to finally get it all directed to my junk email folder. | |
|
| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 8:59:17 PM | I tried them a few months back and was very disappointed in the matchs they sent. Just not much in common at all. I deleted my profile and canceled my account, but the last few days I have been getting a bunch of messages by them since they have the 'free' weekend special going on now.
How do I get matches from a profile I deleted weeks ago? I've gotten more 'match' notices in the past few days than I did in the entire month I signed up for them.
It's a rip off big time! | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 9:25:57 PM | | Something interesting....eHarmony rejected my profile as well then I resubmitted using a different user name and e-mail address, but the same answers to questions. Guess what! I was accepted! Think it may have something to do with who your internet provider is? I was on several months, lots of matches, but only met one man. He is not at all ready for a relationship of any kind and he is a nutcase! Beware! | |

e-Harmony is NOT Christian site. If e-Harmony was a Christian site it would just claim to be one. e-Harmony was founded by a psychologist that's supposed to be an expert in relationships. That's how e-Harmony was originally advertised. its not 'overtly' a christian site, but the founder 'dr' neil clark warren is an evangelical xtian and a part of right wing group 'focus on the family' and tied to its founder james dobson. i signed up for it a long time ago and after all the time filling out the questionnaire only to find out i was 'unmatchable', after thinking about it i realized something, had a roomie sign up to, they were matchable, then quized them about the questions (and others i've known to sign on) and we all agreed there was a great propensity for religious based questions. so i used a different email 'fudged' most of the religion questions, lo and behold! i was now matchable, and after much research found out that info above and that warren has been quoted as saying that only religious people can have lasting/stable relationships so if you're not an active theist, or are a short male (site wont match men with women taller than them??), or gay/lesbian then you're incapable of having a lasting relationship according to this joker

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/27/2007 11:54:13 PM | eharmony does a LOT of net ads, phishers (Phony people at other sites like myspace) and more. So the more 'face' they have the more people are going to think that it is a legit site that works. Does anyone here actually remember seeing an ad for this site? I have seen them and they are very plain and conservative (More like what you'd *expect* a christian site to have) vs the slutty girls they use for eharmony's ads. I'm not saying POF is a site based for any single religion, just that their ads are nicer, plain and direct but they could use a little more flash to catch one's eye other than a large white space, plain text like "100% free dating site!" and stuff. Rule of thumb, unless you are COMPLETELY sure that you want the site if for some reason the canceling doesn't work... never give out your credit card number. It shouldn't matter if it is a dating site, dial up service like AOL(they did this scam trick too), or a gaming site. I once read a silly email that was titled "The death of Mr. Common Sense" and while it was very funny, too much of it was also very, very true. (Scary) Sites like eharmony are betting on people with no common sense, loneliness, desperation, and plain horniness to get that pretty girl in their ads. Unfortunately they've got house rules so they win more often than not. Well, I've said what I wanted to say... now I'll let you all get on to the next eharmony (or it's like) hater/complainer. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/28/2007 6:19:24 AM | I joined for 1 month just to try it out and it totally SUCKS, the format of sending multiple choice questions back and forth to each other is the dumbest thing I've ever seen, to actually write to someone you have to put in requests to them and all this other bullshit. It is just set up to take your money, I signed up for a 1 month trial, but of course they automatically renewed it at the end of the month, You can not cancel anything from the site ,you have to call them to close your account, good luck finding that 800 number lol, it's in the fine print somewhere. Pof is the only site I can think of that is actually fun | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/28/2007 9:07:20 AM | I was on eharmony for 6 months, and found that through all of the money I shelled out to them, I was sorely disappointed in the compatibility of my "matches." The guided communication process is lengthy, and to request open communication through fast track comes with a warning that intimidates. Wait a minute... isn't that why we're on dating sites... to communicate?
I did not meet one single match, for a complete lack of interest, either on my part or theirs. So much for them "guiding" me to my soulmate. My membership didn't even culminate in a date!
PlentyofFish is more relaxed and fun. I have met several wonderful people, and suspect I will continue to do so. Which is a lot more than I can say 60 dollars a month at eharmony had done for me.

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/28/2007 9:27:28 AM | I like to call it eHar(we'll take your)Money.
I tried it out when it first came into existence. The questionnaire was suspiciously similar to one I'd taken through a professional (with paid and analyzed results) yet when I tried to ask them about the origins of the test, I never got a reply.
The canned answers you had to choose from once you were "matched" with someone were horrible. Don't know if it's changed since then but if you're matched with someone they choose three canned questions that have multiple choice answers. You couldn't write your own answers. I felt the answers provided didn't match what I would have written; they were very black and white and humorless. Then the communication would be ended because obviously I answered one of the questions incorrectly for that person.
One that survived the grueling questions back and forth lived across the country. Another was a grocery clerk (I have a degree/career, probably wouldn't date a clerk). Huge waste of time.
Most frustrating experience ever. At that time, they also would not allow me to meet anyone younger.
Don't be fooled by the success story ads. They only have a 3% success rate, if that.

That does not make e-Harmony a Christian site. If that was the case than a lot of establishements in the United States are "not overtly Christian, but" are managed by men with Christian values including our federal government.
i was now matchable, and after much research found out that info above and that warren has been quoted as saying that only religious people can have lasting/stable relationships
And mainstream news media has reported that religious people are the happiest people and centurions live the longest because they have a belief in God. Stating positive facts about religion doesn't make any news establishment a religious organization. News media outlets like BBC will even state the views reflected on their channel do not neccessary represent the views of their organization.

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/28/2007 12:51:35 PM | Good post!!!
I stay away from all those pay e-dating websites now most are just scams they have fake profiles on them and people paid to chat with you.....just to make you feel like it's working.....not to mention the prices are pretty high I think.
Besides you have P.O.F why join those sites? just use this one.

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! | eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/29/2007 2:10:39 AM | | LOL, I thought it was just me...I joined for 30 days and received about 6 matches a day. The only problem is that I live in Florida and nearly every match had no pics posted (I'm sorry, call me shallow but I wont buy a pack of gum without lookin' at it.. and I'll worry about the flavor later) and was on the other side of the Mississipi River. Even received an actual contact or two. One was in Montana and the other in (get this) Anchorage Alaska. So I nicely wrote them a msg asking were they short on local talent. I never received a reply, a sorry, kiss our a.... or anything so by the 11 day, I stopped logging in. I'm sure its all gimmick to keep you (and your credit card) coming back. After the 3o days expired they began beating my door down with 3 mos. for the price of 1 offers. | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/29/2007 10:22:28 AM | LOL... I made an eHarmony profile once. I answered all their "chemistry" questions and I didn't get any matches (not a single one), so I said to myself: "f*ck this, I'm going back to PoF (at least it's free)!". My conclusion: either I'm really different from a lot of people, or the site is just total sh*t...
Maybe It's just "me" LOL

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 5/30/2007 11:07:28 AM | Well, already said this , but, my friend found her husband on EHarmony, she wouldn't be here to comment because it was successful for them. I wonder if this site is full of negitive things, because the sucessful ones simply wouldn't be here to comment. hmmmm Just a thought | |

| eHarmony...STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE!!! Posted: 6/13/2007 5:02:27 PM | most of those type of sites offering 'free 7 day trials' ask for your details so that when the 7 days is up they can charge you straightaway! YES- its a con so do not give details out to recieve freebies......... they will either pass on your details so you recieve crap OR keep you hanging on for as long as possible, charging you for it.
stick to plentyoffish.com OR .co.uk (both fun and reliable)
