In reply to EHarmony or any other site you may be interested in.......Just read the terms and conditions of ANY site you are considering.Cancellations and opt outs are spelled out there as required by law.Make sure there is an easy way to cancel a subscription(Onsite or by toll free phone)and that you cancel in the alloted time. Most people don't read the fine print, but you really have to on dating sites. They don't make money without you subscribing, and the free trials are the bait that get you into their system. If there's no easy way to unsuscribe,DON'T JOIN !! Bravo creativguy ... well said, as always ... only thing lacking is the maturity to recognize this precious present when you see/have it ... and the wisdom to want to maintain this cherished gift ... and this has nothing to do with chronological age ...

I faked it to get by the 20 pages of crap. I told them what they wanted to hear, and i was in. Only to find out what big fat liars they are. A complete waste of my time. This was that free 3 day trial B.S. they advertized over labor day weekend. Only to find out nothing was free. I could read the profiles, but that was it. I could not look at any of the pictures, nor could i contact the other members. I should have e-mailed them a shot of my moon.

I did my time on eHarmony. I got lots of matches, but they were always ambitious Type A personalities. I suspect the fancy personality matchup is really based on astrology, because the only reason I can identify that might have resulted in such matches is that I'm a Capricorn!

eHarmony's HQ is a block from my office, so if you want to stage a protest I can lead the way.

Here's another message from someone in that "small" percentage. It's a wonder E-Harmony has anyone on their site, they're so picky! I also didn't know they're conservative Christian, it's not mentioned in any of their ads or on the website! I guess it's a good thing I am part of the small percentage though, since I am a supporter of the New Democratic Party in BC and Canada and they sound like I wouldn't have gotten very good matches anyways. Also I'm a United Church member and it's pretty left leaning too, the LGBT community is a big part of the church. And I'm bisexual so I'm so far from what their ideal paying customer is. And as for the remark that people are paid to be together, they probably just get their website designers or whatever to write some bs about how much they love their "partner" and get some small time models or family members to play the part.

PLS STAY AWAY FO SURE!!!NO KIDDING!!! it gets worse believe me.......I foolheartedly with good intent tried it for 6 months and they sent me anyone and anybody from Southern USA to Vancouver and some of the profile names were Disgusting and I could NOT believe they sent them to me.....they DO NOT check out your assessment as to what You are looking for at all!! and one man I thought might be nice they Removed and actually Erradicated him as he was found to be too offensive and I had been writing to him all along........!!
BUT THE WORST part is I tried to CANCEL it but they somehow manage to confuse you by saying to hang in as it takes time ....and so when I thought I had Cancelled they put my Credit Card thru for another month at a hightrate without my Approval.. Iwas Livid so cancelled my Credit card altogether as I did not want to get Ripped offf. Fprget About it---they try to make money out of Lonely Hearts!!!!

Since E-Harmony has apparently rejected over a million people, they've made it into a commercial for another company! It's for chemistry.com. Don't think I'll be signing up for that site either, but still it's DAMN funny! Made me laugh my ass off.

It was interesting reading all the post regarding eharmony. I myself was on the site for seven months. It worked for my brother who found his girlfriend and for his friend who found his wife. It seemed many of the matches would close me out by the time I reviewed them at 5:30 am. The problem with the site is you don't know which ones of those were actual paid members. I did date a man from the site for four months. He asked if he could borrow my digital camera to take pictures of his daughter and would return it to me before Christmas. Well, he took the camera and then stopped communicating with me. It was only after I threaten to bring charges did he finally meet me to give it back to me. That was two and half months later; end of February. So, even on that site you can meet people.

well the way i see it.. and i know alot of people agree, that anyone who charges money for a singles site or any kind of site like that, it is just like promoting an escort service or what not. Thats exactly what they are doing.

Heck, for the people that pay for them services, wouldnt they benefit more from a escort service? I mean since they are paying for it anyways , at least they will have something in person! :)

Call your bank , tell them to "never allow" withdraws for any dating site. They are more than happy to help you with this, humm must mean they have heard of this problem before ..

Not much in life is really free, your info might be sold as spam or just info for marketing .. What ever , this site seems to deal very fair .

You are right.. this is one of them.. cause i created two new email accounts.. FRESH.. as I closed all my hotmail accounts.... and used one of them new email address for my POF account... and within 24 hours.. i was loaded with spam on it on the new address.. and the only place i used the address was on here.. and they are safe email accounts too!.. with a specific server.... hell the other email address is still empty... go figure eh?!?! so what does that tell you?! I guess you are right about nothing is free!

I have a number of concerns with this site. Just call one of the Vice-Presidents. Express your concerns and you will likely get a refund. I was successful in getting my money refunded after 1 call to one of the Vice-Presidents. Good luck.

eHarmony pretty much stunk for me, too. As a dating site, eHarmony was expensive and my so called matches were anything but!!! It kept sticking me with liberal nut job women, like I'd touch one of those diseased hags!!!

I have been on E-harmony for a long while and all I can say it that people aren’t reading the fine print or following directions most likely…..I have no complaints about the site…The problem is that I’ve met just as many flakey people on there as anywhere else, but that’s not e-harmony’s fault…

They have no say over how many matches you will get or that many people won’t post photos (but I have that same issue on the free sites)…however I find it highly unlikely that ANYONE was on that site for at least 30 days and only got ONE match. However you ability to be matched is not only based on your test questions, but also on your own criteria that you pick. So in theory if you said you only wanted to meet 5”10’ inch women with blond hair, blue eyes and Extremely attractive and you share none of those same qualities, than yeah I guess you could be on there for a long time with ONE match….

The sight is also for everyone and not just Christians. I am agnostic and I have see others on there the same all the time, and only a small handful of my matches have professed to be church goers and very religious, so perhaps people need to recheck their criteria they have checked…

The only negative I see is that it takes about 15 days for several matches to start coming through on a regular basis, so a 7 day trial is worthless….but hey, you get what you’re willing to invest in most things in life…If you want a PAID site for free, probably ain't gonna happen... lol

and please, those e-harmony "has rejected you" is a scam by the other company. For crying out loud, you fill out the survey, pay and you'r in, there is no REJECTION letter. But as one guy said above he faked all 20 pages of the survey so he could get on and then was not satified with the results...are ya kididng me?

People, some of you may have been accidentally screwed over by a techno glitch but I'd swear most people just can't follow instructions and refuse to read the T&C's...

Funny thing is that I know of several people (including my own brother) who have met their S.O.'s on E-Harmony........I don't know ANYONE personally (i.e. in REAL life) who has on P.O.F. (except what I read in the forums).......I've been here going on two years now with nothing to show for it except frustration. The same liars/game-players and crazies are on here as on all the other sites........

I once several years ago tried to join E-Harmony but was told I couldn't be matched, but I am thinking of trying it again (can't be any worse than here)......besides, I would THINK that the people on there would be more serious about meeting someone since they have to pay in order to initiate contact with someone. The one disadvantage of free sites like P.O.F. is that anyone can join and they don't have to be serious or anything because they don't have any $$$ at stake. Free sites definitely don't work, though, too many games, no one is serious, no one knows what they want, etc. The forums are about the only good thing here now.

I never go to the pay sies any way. Not that I am cheap but they are all cash cows and scams only out for money not for your happiness. If they cred about your happiness they would be free and only make money off of the advertisments they are forced to post to poerate. but they make more money wqith fake profiles and advice that kleeps you single

I too have tried several dating sites, Match and Yahoo being 2 of the better ones. Eharmony , in my opinion , is the worst. Their personality profile is relatively close, although I already know myself and dont need a confirmation. They seemed to have no regard for height (important if your only a 5'7 guy), and living in a rural area, they constantly matched me with women in NYC and Boston, over 300 miles away. I was definitely NOT impressed with the site and Fish, although full of oddballs, is way better.

LOL…I cannot believe how many people have gone on eharmony and lied on the questionnaire in hopes of getting a life partner in 7 days!!! How well has that worked in on any other site? Oh wait, not well or ya wouldn't be here....

The hypocrisy is that when the site works it does so tremendously well (many people who meet there end up married) and people trust that the site actually works or else none of you would attempt it; but you want that same result with none of the effort.....

These are supposed to be highly evolved, physiological tests to find someone else who feels and thinks the same way YOU do. Why on earth would you lie and then complain later…..

Well if ya want the results that the very happy people (real people) on the commercials achieved, IRONICALLY you can bet that NONE of them lied on the questionnaire!!!! LMAO

And don't get me wrong, POF is fabulously done, but don't use an expensive site and refuse to actually follow the rules and then complain about it...some of you guys have tried to scam the site, not so much the other way around as I see it....hahahaha

I, too, lost $50 to this site when I signed up for a month's subscription. The funniest part was that after I emailed customer service at the end of my subscription to express my displeasure, I got a reply back offering me 50% off if I wanted to renew for 3 or 6 months. Imagine if I had gone to a restaurant and ordered a steak, but instead they brought me a dead cat. If it turns out that's the only kind of "steak" they have, you would at least expect them to give you a refund. Instead, I got offered a coupon for 50% off my next dead-cat dinner for 3. Why not bring a friend?

Honestly, I should have smelt a rat right away, when the good doctor kept saying his trumped-up internet quiz was "A $40 value!" Yes, I took the quiz, and I gave honest and complete answers. My problem? No matches. Or at least none that were real people. (I suppose they could have been real people who just never answer the questions they get through eHarmony's automated communication system. But from this side of the monitor, the distinction is academic.)

I was also told by eHarmony that I was in a small percentage of those for whom they felt they could not find a match, after having spent hours over a couple of days filling out their long questionaire. After getting their rejection email, at first I felt a big letdown, but the more I think about it, they did me a huge favor and helped me save money. I am obviously of such rare quality that there are very few folks out there who could possibly be a suitable match for me. There is someone special out there for me, but it will take a long time to find them.
